Such a wonderful game to start the new switch era, better than other racing games on the market, establishing a now and then in racing games, but after a few races it may seem repetitive at a point. Otherwise it’s a very fun game to play with friends and family or at a party.

The long and short of it is that this is the best feeling Mario Kart game there has been, the racing itself is fun, but in terms of the Open World thing it’s pretty lacking. Feels similar to when Fallout 76 was released with uhh.. not that much to do. Again, it’s fun to play so it beats 76 out there, but I’m sort of hoping they will like.. add reasons to play the Open World part of the game? It’s very charming but sort of aimless. Would not personally recommend it right now until they add some more meat to it which I’m sure they will.

I love the Mario Kart series, but having an $80 price tag is a gut punch. Thankfully the game is fantastic! The new open world mode is simple but fun, especially in shorter bursts. Plenty of secrets to find and challenges that may not give great rewards but still feel rewarding. I do think there are not enough traditional linear tracks, instead favoring the non-linear "every lap is a different area" formula with a 4:1 ratio. The knockout mode plays better into these kind of tracks but most people are here for the traditional Mario Kart cups and racing with friends/online. Fun items, HUGE soundtrack, great graphics and controls. It is unlikely to be my favorite Mario Kart but it is very fun so far. $80 is pretty darn high though; maybe with a little bit of free DLC (like new karts or characters/costumes) I will feel less bitter but for now it keeps me from giving it a full 5 stars.

I’ve played Mario Kart over the years and it’s very fun to race against opponents and use items to steal their position for 1st place. This game takes it on a new level by making it an open-world racing game. Really love how vast the world is, the many costumes to unlock, the track design, and the soundtrack. The modes like Knockout Tour definitely give this game an F-Zero experience which I enjoyed. Missions are back and I did enjoy searching for them and completing them. However, despite the praise I gave, this game isn’t worth the $80 price tag. If you like Mario Kart, I highly recommend thinking about the price before you buy the game. Overall, good game.

This Mario Kart almost gets a perfect rating for me. I won't dock it a star but the biggest gripe is the lack of being able to race tracks normally as circuit (AND THEY EXIST) but it forces you to do track to track racing which is REALLY awesome but it deducts so much from the race so when you finally get to the track you want to race at it's like 1 lap. No joke.
So yeah they really need to figure that out and patch that for people who want multi lap circuits (Which do exist in the game coding)
Content needs update for sure.

Okay so price hike on games not fun but this game, if you are in to racing games and driving game is great fun...I find it easy to play but maybe hard to master! I am still working my way through the 50cc races and after I complete a cup then I like to free drive and they have challenges in the world when free driving that feature adds a good amount of value to the game.

Great game overall but the intermission maps are just ok in my opinion. Still have over 40 hours in it at the time of this review and plan to play more.

Despite the game being priced higher than expected, I opted to buy Mario Kart World physically to avoid taking up the space on my switch 2. The game effortlessly blends Mario Kart gameplay with a Breath of the Wild type world. In solo adventure mode if you see something interesting, just drive there to investigate. The game doesn’t have a huge amount of things to do outside of racing, but the huge races across the entire open world and one of a kind experiences.

Mario Kart World on Switch 2 delivers stunning visuals that bring each track to life with vibrant colors and detailed environments. The great cast of characters shines, especially the unique penguin and cow, who add fresh personality and charm to the lineup. Overall, it’s a fantastic racing experience that feels both familiar and exciting with its visual upgrades and memorable characters.

7 year old is obsessed with this game. He has figured out shortcuts and received all the stars and cups for each level. He has unlocked the extra levels. At first he was disappointed in the differences between Mario Kart 8 and this one but a lot of people expressed their disappointment and a software upgrade came out soon after release. He is upset about the points system when playing online. Others agree there is no set system for gaining and losing points.

i was excited for the next-generation Mario Kart, but Mario Kart World feels like a great racing game strapped to a disappointing concept. The core racing is solid with the new tracks and the expanded 24-player chaos, and the soundtrack is a standout. However, the open-world map, which is the game's main new feature, often falls flat.
While it's neat that all the circuits are connected, driving between courses in Grand Prix can feel like a dull, drawn-out road trip with long, wide, and sometimes empty stretches. The Free Roam mode is fun for a quick cruise, but it lacks compelling content or rewards to make exploring worthwhile for long periods. It's an excellent party game when friends are over, but the single-player experience and the open world that was promised to be a major innovation just don't have enough substance to keep me engaged. The game has great bones, but the execution of its biggest new idea is a miss.

I was irritated at the price, and after a few hours the credits rolled, I was not happy. Then the fun began. Unlocking cars, costumes and the open world feature. You can spend hours driving around exploring the areas when not racing. Plenty of mini games Actually gives you a feel for what the next Mario mainline game will be like.

I have played every Mario Kart game. This one is special and unique because it makes you feel like you're on a big journey during free roam and knock out tour. The levels by themselves are also fun, but this one is unique that you can drive around and explore wherever you want!
