I purchased the Monitor headphones as a upgrade to some Sony noise cancelling headphones that I had. I was imediately impressed with the vast sound improvement from Sonys to the Marshall Monitor headphones. The bass was full and clear and was able to hear sounds that I did not know were on the tracks. I tried these with the filters in and out and prefer the less tinny sound with the filters in.
I had listened to a few other options in this price range an was just not as impressed as I was with the Marshall style and sound. These did not have the overprocessed sound as some of the other headphones I tried.
I ould have rated the durability higher, but it is unknown but I think these will last and they feel pretty substantial.
I listen to music styles from Country, Jazz, and Hard Rock and absolutely love these headphones!!!

Received a pair of Beats for Christmas and was not impressed. Exchanged them for a Skullcandy pair and had a similar experience. I just spent about 45 mins in my local Best Buy trying to find a better pair. I looked at over-the-ear, buds, anything. I hadn't even noticed the Marshalls but I tried them on and was in love with the fit. They are not obnoxious looking like most of the other over-the-ear phones out there, very classic design. Once I gave them a listen and looked over all the features on the box, I was sold. Got them home and I can't take them off!

My Bose headphones decided they were done so I went to find another set. I didn't want the same Bose so I went to the store to look around. A salesman recommended these but I wasn't familiar with the name so I decided to wait until I checked online reviews. After reading so many great ones I decided I would try them and OMG. Never expected them to sound superior to BOSE but they are. I could die with these headphones on!!!! You will love them!

I did a lot of research both online and in store. These headphones are really great. You can see they put a lot of time into craftsmanship. There's metal hangers on the headphone pads and the input/output jacks on the headphone cord are gold plated, not plastic. These headphones have duel jacks which is nice for sharing media or music with a friend. I really like the semi coiled headphone cord and the inline microphone works very well. The sound is really great when put up against BEATS, not to mention quite a bit cheaper than the BEATS.which are way overpriced in my opinion. These headphones are much more durable than any of it's competitors. This is the first review I have posted on anything ever. I thought it was worth my time because I am really happy with my decision to buy these Marshall Monitors.

I bought these headphones when they were on sale for $135. They are great headphones for someone who is looking for near studio quality for a decent price. I can't say I would have spent the whole $200 retail price but I think they would still be worth it. They come with filters that are supposed to kill the super high frequencies, I can't really tell a difference so far with or without them. They can make MP3 tracks sound a bit flat but they are great with lossless audio which you can get from CDs

I have always used the in-ear/earbud style headphones. My primary use is at the gym and the earbud style always seemed the most practical and non-evasive. But after my last pair died on me, which seemed to happen every 4 months or so, I decided to buy some good quality, over-ear headphones.
Naturally, my mind went straight to Beats since that is what all the cool kids wear. I read a lot of mixed reviews on bestbuy and other sites, so I went to bestbuy and gave a listen myself. Listened to Beats, and several others before putting on the Marshall's.
The bass was deeper, and fuller. The overall clarity of the music was noticeably better on the Marshall's than any of the other headphones I tried. I have now had them for about two weeks and they have not disappointed.
I basically only listen to music of the "metal" genre, and for metal these headphones are second to none in my opinion. But I would imagine that the "best" headphones for you heavily depends on your genre of music so the best advice I can give is to try each pair out at the store and make your own decision.

amazing headphones! even though not actually described as "noise-cancelling" or "noise isolating" these babies don't let in any outside noise past mid-volume listening (iPhone5). I wear these everyday on the subway and listen at ~75% and they are great, no screeching track, no mariachis, no disturbances. They offer all day comfort, sit light and snug on head. Great feature in being able to switch plug from left to right (super firm connection, never disconnects) and allows for daisy chaining headphones. I use without filter, highs sound crisp and sharp. bass level doesn't rock your soul but definitely kicking. I would only compare sound to Bose headphones, nothing else comes close to these two guys. Would not get marshall majors, well worth double price to upgrade to these.

I enjoy the look and sound plus taking calls too works great. Only complaint is after some time the unit feels too tight and can be uncomfortable after extended use.
