I listed to a TON of speakers when looking for a new home theater solution. I used to have tower speakers with built-in powered subs which I still loved. Getting a new entertainment center required a change so I looked at everything from speaker bars to smaller towers to bookshelf speakers. While I liked the Martin Logan speaker bar the best for sound, the lake of HDMI inputs and flexibility I was used to by using my receiver as the audio/video switcher. I first was looking at B&W or Definitive speaker systems, but quickly realized my wide range music taste were much better served by the Martin Logan speakers. I paired these with the Motion 30 center and a Definitive sub. Great sound and couldn't be happier. Would HIGHLY recommend.

Great Sound from a Small Box

Fantastic sound from a small box. Voices sound utterly natural. And the bass extension is surprisingly good for a small box. You won't hear the lowest bass notes - for that you need a sub-woofer. This is a great speaker for a smaller room of for smaller-scale music. I haven't listened to a full symphony on these yet (I did an in-store audition and have a pair on order).

Bright and full body

I went to MAGNOLIA at best buy, looking for Definitive Technology SM55 or SM65 bookshelf speakers. I have 2 Definitive BP6 stand floor (living room) which are amazing. I am on my way to replace my BOSE's home theater (study/family room) speakers which -I have learn by experience- are not good enough for music listening. I was looking for front L/R new speakers.
A salesman told me that SM55/65 were very good, but pointed the MARTIN LOGAN's LX16 (same specifications of LX15), a brand that I had never hear about before. At first, since I was expecting de DT's bass, I found them a little too shiny/bright without body. But a second and a third salesmen came in and separately they advice me to listen to MARTIN LOGAN's speakers. There was not a price difference, since the MARTIN LOGAN were on a 50% sale.
So, I compare them carefully leaving aside my preconceptions, and was able to identify the sharpness of the LX16. Highs and mediums are so clear, so rich, so full of sound, that I couldn't believe it. But, still, I was missing DT's bass. The senior salesman ask me about my subwoofer, which is a Definitive Technology as well, very powerful so I understood that I already have bass at home.
So I bought them. At home, listening to them I can tell you that I have made an excellent purchase. Music is alive, songs are so clear, I can't believe it. So I change my subwoofer configuration and I hide it, if you know what I mean. Now my home theater sounds "integrated", I have crisp highs, full mediums, and strong but "invisible" bass. A downs side: I must by the whole MARTIN LOGAN's speakers system which is expensive but worthy every penny.

Great sound in a small package

Excellent quality and fills the whole room. Sound projects to feel like they are surround sound even though I only have the two bookshelf speakers for the TV. Glad I went with Jason's advice from Magnolia (Dunwoody,GA) and went with this option instead of the soundbar idea.
