We looked at several pairs of speakers, including the larger MartinLogans, but the sound and size were awesome. Our whole family unanimously voted for these speakers.

Very consistent performance from different amps, 1st with 2X 829B class-A vertical biamps via 6k4 tube preamp, super airy, clear & wide-deep sound stage. Then cambridge AXR85 via 6J5 tube preamp, very similar performance. My JBL Studios were less desirable with the Cambridge combo, & slightly inferior comparing to MLs with 829B Biamp combo. Very happy with these ML towers.

Great Speaker. The vocals are very clarity and detailed. The speakers do not have a lot of bass, but enough to make music and movies enjoyable. If you pair these speakers with a good sub, then you will have a wonderful home theater sound.

I have 2 in the front and 2 in the back. ML sub center channel and ML front highs ML book shelf speaker. Powered my Matantz SR 7015. Better then movie theater for just under 5k for all. So nice!!! Rhese speakers were 1200 ea a year ago!!!

Amazing sound from Martin Logan as usual. I am not new to ML and have the Ethos in a media room and these in the living room to replace the Sonos Beam. The Beam is Great but I never enjoyed anything other than tv using it. With the 40's hooked up, I can now enjoy crystal clear sound and impressive bass watching TV, movies, and listening to music. I used the new Sonos amp to power these and it's a great match. The folded motion tweeters are clear with great sound dispersion. I even got them on sale which was even better.

Everything is crispe, highs mids and lows. Speakers have great balance. Great bang for your buck.

Amazing! I first want to mention a big thank you to.... Best Buy and Magnolia! The Magnolia salesman was awesome and let me listen to various speakers using music and movies. You cannot get that kind of service or even try a product with online shopping. We need our brick and mortar stores to stay. (So please shop at Brick and Mortar stores.) Anyway, I went to Magnolia to replace my 25 year old Infinity speakers. Some speakers I listened to, just seem to fill the room with sound. But, the Martin Logan speakers were spot on with crystal clear clarity and the most natural sounding. The bass is awesome as well. No distortion. Originally purchased the 40i Motion towers, 15i Bookshelves and a 30i center. Returned the 30 center for the 50x for a better match for my new 40i towers. What a difference! I listen to both movies and music and again the clarity, natural sound and bass is incredible. Also, my Denon 3000 series would always run hot and now does not get hot at all, even with action movies at a higher volume. Extremely Pleased. Again, Thank you Magnolia

Martin Logan makes great speakers (period). This Motion 40i speaker packs an amazing sound and quality for the size and price. Would a pair of $5,000 speakers sound better? Maybe. Can this speaker use a little more bass? Sure, any speaker could, so you can always pair with a subwoofer and adjust as needed. Is the sound crisp like you're in the room? Yes it is. Since Martin Logan has just updated their lineup of speakers, this Motion 40i is an absolute steal at $900/piece.

I had to replace the grills. Mailed ML, responded immediately. I talked to a human, gave the CC details and they shipped out the grills the next day. Coming to the speakers, they sound great, can be biwired (HF, LF) and if you amp can do it these can be biamped.

Usually I don't write a review if I fiend the product is really good then I write some thing about it. It is one of the best speaker I heard. The sound of the speaker is so worm it's unbelievable. Excellent bass some times I turn of my subwoofer also treble are crystal clear.

Great set of "full range" speakers. Picked these up for my home theater setup. Awesome improvement in clarity and sound quality. With my PB100 Pro I have an excellent range of frequencies. Caught these for 50% off, all because the new models have released. Honestly I like the aesthetic better than the new model. No brainer for half the cost.

i'm a want-to-be audiophile with a limited budget, but I am very discriminating and know good sound when I hear it. Situation was that I had B&W bookshelves in a larger space, and I needed something that would provide a little more UMPH! The small bookshelves just couldn't fill my large space that was open to the rest of the house. These provided it for sure! High sensitivity lets them come alive at low volumes, and the AMT tweeter is light and airy, bass is deep, punchy and clear, not muddled. Slim floorstanders are not as imposing as some others. I'm thrilled with this purchase!

Great speaker with one of the best tweeters around. Being 4ohms, it requires power for better performance. Pair it a with a good amplifier and you are in for a ride.

Wonderful speakers, great at music and home theater. Powered off of a Denon AVR-6700H has plenty of oomph, great imaging, and low ear fatigue.

These speakers sound fantastic. My wife and I tested the B&W 603 and 704 S2s along with these and the ML motion 40is sounded so good. For the price compared to the 704s, it wasn't worth spending the extra money. They are so clear and open! We also got these on sale so we were even happier to get great sound at a great price. These replaced B&W 683s2s. Coming from B&W, these MLs are power hungry since they are 4ohm speakers so be sure you can power them up. With power, you won't be disappointed. I'm using an Outlaw Audio 5000 amp paired with a Denon 3600x. They are about 100 inches apart with a slight toe in. For my front stage, I also changed out my center with the ML 50Xti... my front stage is even better now. I then added in the surround motion fx and my sound bubble is amazing. Looking forward to watching and hearing all the movies coming out!

I finally stepped up and bought the speakers I have wanted for several years. Had a lightning strike which took out most of my old home theater system so I needed to get a new receiver. While shopping I snagged those speakers which were on clearance. I ended up buying the open box floor models off the Magnolia store demo room. I originally bought two Motion 20 floor speakers and they sounded amazing but wanted the Motion 40 Models so I found two at another Magnolia store and returned my Motion 20 speakers and purchased these speakers. I got a better deal on these than the Motion 20 speakers too. Paid $360.00 each and they look brand new. Happy I made this purchase and now I feel I truly have some high quality speakers. I already owned a MartinLogan center and subwoofer. I also bought four Motion 30 bookshelf speakers to replace my old Def Tech speakers so now I have a 7.1 system with all MartinLogan speakers. They were on clearance for $213.00 each and they also sound amazing.
