This game is pretty cool. Plays a lot like the Arkham series. The complete edition comes with 3 different DLC that add about an two to three hours per. Well worth the price!

Well I just got the Spider-Man Game Of The Year Edition last week online for Black Friday loving the game so far great open world game, graphics are sick, the gameplay is so good this game is the only reason I ordered me a PS4 Pro just to play this Spider-Man game.

This is the best that playing Spider-Man has ever felt to me. His specific move set has been emulated in a way that captures every iconic acrobatic lunge and stance. Spider-Man is my fav hero , this game will play like a love letter to everything that embodies the hero's aesthetic There's a lot to love in Insomniac Games' Spider-Man, Swinging around a remarkably rendered New York City is exactly as much fun as i could ever wish. The combat is fluid, varied and lets me lean into whichever fighting style suits me best. Stylistically, Spider-Man nails all the web-slinging details, from the impressive roster of unlockable suits to the friendly neighborhood persona that Peter Parker is known for.

This is one of the best made Spiderman game to ever be created. The graphics are excellent, the controls very responsive, and the story is captivating.

Love this game! Got it day one with my PS4 Pro and the graphics are amazing, gameplay is super smooth, and the controls are great! This game truly makes you feel like you're Spiderman AND Peter Parker. The story sucks you in and makes you feel and care for other characters. The combat is great, especially how you can approach situations multiple different ways. So much opportunity here with sequels as well. They could add more Villians, other hero cameo's, you name it. It's an incredible world with endless possibilities. 10/10 recommend!

I have not enjoyed many 1P games, but as a life-long Spider-Man fan, the idea of swinging around the city like the wall-crawler was irresistible! I haven't yet explored everything this game has to offer, but so far, I love it. There is the humor of the web-slinger as he takes down the bad guys. I enjoy the side missions, and the general movement is as realistic as I could hope for. I am also really enjoying the story as I move through the main missions. It's like a movie and a game all in one!

Surprisingly, Spider-Man games have been well made throughout console history. It has been awhile and yet that has not changed. The current iteration is the best of the bunch with a beautiful open world to make one feel like the friendly neighborhood arachnid firmly placed within New York in the Marvel universe. It had a lot to live up to, both standing alone as a game and releasing during Tom Holland's MCU portrayal, but is a beautiful action adventure that if you didn't pick up in a PS4 bundle this is the best version to get. Happy swinging!

Good Spider-Man games are hard to come by since the Spider-Man 2 game on the PS2 all those years ago. However, Insomniac Games have done an amazing job making you feel the most like Spider-Man than any game has in almost a decade. In addition, the game offers a compelling story and tons of interesting gameplay. I personally wasn’t a fan of the mandatory stealth sections, but they aren’t very frequent. I would 100% recommend anyone with a PS4 and a fan of Spider-Man to pick this up and give it a go!

Spider-man for PS4 was all but guaranteed to be a hit before it came out, dropping trailers that looked more like a web-slinging version of Arkham Knight than previous iterations of our friendly neighborhood... Peter Parker? Yep, expect to play as Peter Parker nearly as much as Spider-Man in this game, at least during the story missions, but this turns out to be better than it sounds. Miles Morales and Mary Jane get their own levels, too, but these tend to amount to little more than stealth missions most of the time. Still, it's cool that these characters get a few moments in the limelight.
The storyline and characters of Marvel's Spider-Man drive the game and are ultimately what make it a success. From the opening battle with Kingpin, Marvel's Spider-Man never stops dropping spidery Easter eggs throughout its main play. Offering a bevy of twists and turns, just when the story-- based on the Brand New Day storyline from the comics-- threatens to drag, another familiar villain or ally, both old and new, gets thrown into the mix to keep things interesting. Cutscenes are consistently entertaining and often exciting, and the climax of the game gave me exactly what I hoped for but didn't expected to get.
Traversal proves to be another huge plus in Spidey's arsenal. While fast-travel options appear after a few story missions, swinging solo across the city and doing aerial acrobatics never gets old. Fighting, on the other hand, can be somewhat frustrating as one often has to single-handedly fight off hordes of enemies but no more frustrating than similar games of this nature. Sometimes it feels like it makes no sense on whom Spider-Man decides to focus when the baddies surround him and start attacking, but that's how it goes. The game gives Spider-man plenty of gadgets and suit upgrades so that players should never feel at a COMPLETE disadvantage, and it's thrilling when a well-executed plan comes together. Although each gadget may be upgraded and each suit comes with its own unique power, some early gadgets and suits are so helpful that players may find themselves sticking to the same strategies throughout the majority of the game.
The biggest drawback of the game is its repetitive gameplay. A lot of the side missions feel familiar, especially if you've played any of the Arkham series, and usually amount to fighting waves of bad guys, stealth takedowns, or traversal challenges. Early side missions force Spider-man to collect backpacks or activate towers so that he can access a map of Manhattan... as though SPIDER-MAN would need a MAP of Manhattan? The boss battles typically amount to figuring out a pattern and then repeating that pattern until the next section of the boss battle. Again, this has a familiar feel, which isn't necessarily a bad thing but also doesn't feel like it is adding anything new to the genre.
Another drawback (at least for some) will be its relatively short length, especially when compared to similar games like Arkham Knight or Horizon: Zero Dawn, which offer a bit more bang for the buck. Serious gamers will be able to get through this game in a weekend (or less, depending on how long you play it) and most casual gamers will not need more than a couple of weeks.
Spider-Man is fun, but it is also familiar-feeling and a little short. Fans of Spider-Man will most likely love it (I sure did!), and the game is worth the price for the story and how well it nails the feel of being an amazing spider-person. Excelsior!

Marvel Spider-Man is just plain fun. Everything from the combat, to the exploration (swinging feels amazing and there is so much to do and interact with), to the story is wonderfully done. FYI, the extras for the GoTY version are included on a DLC voucher packed inside the case. The disc that you get has the same exact content as the vanilla version o the game. Marvel Spider-Man is most definitely a must buy for PS4 owners and one of the best games of 2019.

A friend let me borrow the base game when it came out. I absolutely loved it. I wanted to wait until the game was either on sale or a game of the year edition came out. I waited until the game of the year edition because of the 3 DLC episodes. These story missions take place after the main story is finished. They continue the great gameplay and story telling of the main game. Only down side is that the DLC is not on the disc. You get a code to download them.

This was the first PS4 game I ever bought because of all the reviews and it holds true to that value. Marvel's Spider-Man on PS4 is super fun and I couldn't get enough of it. I finished the main story but I still make my neighborhood rounds once a while to fully get to that 100% completion. The game has so many interesting side stories, side missions, endless swinging. Top 10 PlayStation game, easily.
