Customers are pleased with the dishwasher's quiet operation, excellent cleaning performance, and the convenient third rack. Many appreciate its capacity and ease of use, while some experienced issues with reliability and longer cycle times. A few also mentioned challenges with installation and concerns about the warranty period. The sleek design was also frequently praised.

I don’t understand the high ratings this dishwasher received. We had it delivered and installed professionally. Before even sending through a load of dishes I noticed the racks seemed lightweight and wobbly. When the door was opened, I needed to try to push it lower to get it to lay flat, but when I did the stainless steel tub liner flexed by the hinges. So, it might be stainless steel, but it’s not thick or insulating to keep heat in to help dry items. The first time I washed a load of dishes using auto cycle, sani-rinse and short dry. I figured the piping-hot water rinse would aid in drying and to save energy with a shorter dry cycle. I let it sit overnight and unloaded it in the morning. Items were still wet as well as the door. The next time, I used auto wash and long dry. It was even worse. Some items were not clean and there was food debris in the bottom corner. And, yes, it is installed level. Items were wet on all three racks as well as the tub. I knew right away I wanted to exchange it for something else if it did a worse job than my previous beloved 15 year-old KitchenAid. Unfortunately, the new KitchenAid dishwashers are made by the same manufacturer now and the inside design looks the same despite costing a few hundred more. I’m just not one to repeat the same mistake twice. Others seem to report unsatisfactory drying performance too. We can’t all be wrong.

Chipper blade broke after month and half

The chopper blade broke after about a month and a half of gentle use with well-rinsed items. Purchased 6/30/20; delivered 10/5/20 and installed by plumber. The chopper is part of the drain and spinning plastic fan so the loose blade blocked the fan from spinning, which prevented the water from draining. This must be a common defect because the warranty repair person arrived with a new boxed drain part in his hand. I am so disappointed because I spent a lot of money on this purchase and on installation, and hoped it would work problem-free for a few years at least. I chose a DW w/a chopper blade as a backup to rinsing, not in place of it. In addition to emptying and cleaning the easily accessed filter, many other DW brand manuals for high-pressure filtration DWs recommend unscrewing the bottom to clean interior filters on a regular basis and I think that is unrealistic for most people including me.

Nightmare product. Three different units all of them same failure. It will either stop in the middle of the cycle showing error code (lower tray full of water) and eventually it will leak and flood your kitchen floor. Master Pro installers are not knowledgeable (1st one was installed out of alignment see photo). Second one had a bump out of the box. Third one they stripped noise insulator from lower panel (the fools!) while unwrapping it. Do not let them do that in the street. Ask them to do it in front of you inside your house or you risk dents and other issues. Won’t ever buy Maytag/Whirlpool/Frigidaire or Kitchenaid (they are the same crappy design inside. Plastic chassis. The three units end up flooding the kitchen within days of install. Save your money and buy an European brand (and this one was made in America!)

Very quiet and does an excellent job cleaning and drying. Drying is better on the long heated dry cycle than on the short heated dry cycle. Racks glide very easily and stop before sliding all the way out unlike my last d/w! Love the 3rd rack! Great for cereal bowls, coffee mugs & utensils. Last dishwasher was a 2 rack and I didn’t think I wanted a 3rd rack but now I’m so glad I have it. I only need to run this twice/week, instead of 3x/week because of the 3rd rack, so I’m saving even more money now. This is the only brand that has a food disposer built in! Sorry, Bosch! Also, it’s made in the great USA! Looks beautiful, too! Very easy to operate. I saved my old silverware baskets from my previous d/w bc I didn’t like the one long basket that this one has. My old baskets are 2 separate baskets so easier to put on a counter and unload bc they take up less space…Installation was super smooth! They gave me a time frame the day before and texted a more narrow time frame later that day (the day before), too and even called me that morning 1-1.5 hours ahead. Used my total tech membership to get free install ($150 value), free 2 year warranty & free haul away & delivery ($40 value). They even price matched a nearby competitor! Used Best Buy certificates that I earn from using my Best Buy credit card. The best part was the super fast install date. Bought on a friday night and it was installed on Monday! All the other stores were running 1-3 weeks on install & I couldn’t wait that long bc my previous 10 year old d/w started leaking! Oh this also has leak detect, so the machine will stop running immediately if a leak is detected!

I may be judging this one a bit harshly because I lost a few features when I upgraded to this new Maytag. I had a prior Maytag dishwasher for just a month or two shy of 24 years. I loved it. It cleaned like a dream, but because of poor choices in the tine material, they began to rust off, and it finally needed its very first repair, only to find that the parts are no longer available. After 24 years, surely there would be amazing dishwashers available and I'd be thrilled to have a new one.
Well, I am ALMOST thrilled. The third rack is great. The material is no longer coated metal tines in the racks, so no worry about a tiny chip causing rust and failure of the tines over time. It's SO QUIET. I love the smooth front (controls are on top on this one) and I love that it tells me exactly how long the cycle I chose will run (short cycle is under 1 hour 15 minutes). When it's running, you rarely hear anything at all from the next room. Dishes are coming out just as clean as my old machine (which was perfect, despite its age), and I'm overjoyed about that because I have friends who actually rinse off/wash their dishes before putting them in the machine because their machines can't handle food particles. Not this machine! Get the big stuff off and toss your plates/lasagna pan right in there, and if you've loaded it correctly (dirty side getting hit by water from the spray jets) you will have spotless dishes with no handwashing necessary. Third rack is great for throwing those tiny little things that I used to put in my old machine's silverware holder (can tops for dog food, lids from my husband's travel coffee mugs, etc.).
Now for the part that drives me insane. My old machine had an angled second rack (no third rack back then!), so I could easily put very large items in the bottom rack, like my cookie sheets. You would place them on the left hand side bottom rack, and still have plenty of room on the top rack to hold bowls, glasses, etc. On this machine, I had to adjust my 2nd rack so far up that the 3rd rack made it impossible to put tall glasses in the 2nd rack and still wash my cookie sheets on the bottom rack. Why, Maytag? You were SO CLOSE to absolute perfection!! I can't be the only one with very large items that need to go in the dishwasher occasionally.
Overall, this thing is a 4.9 stars, so I'm giving it 5. If you frequently throw large items in your machine like I do, go check out the machine in person to make sure you have enough room. So far it's only been the big cookie sheet that gave me a fit. Absolutely everything else about this machine is amazing, and I would highly recommend it!

Made in the USA and it shows !! FAR better than last couple import models we've had. Noise level is excellent. We use the Auto cycle and it really does an excellent job at cleaning with little-to-no hand rinsing. The 3rd rack is great to have, and even accepts mugs/cups with dedicated angled jets to clean them. Installation is a little more difficult compared to LG, but it's a far superior machine. Also, this didn't include a drain hose, whereas others not only include them, but they are already hooked up and ready to connect to plumbing. My fault for not checking, but had to make a trip back to the store for the drain hose. As well, other units I've owned had tracks built into the bottom of the frame to allow easy channeling of hoses and power line. Not that big of a deal, but it's a little more precarious making sure all of the lines are safe as you slide the washer into place. Highly recommend this high-quality dishwasher. We will very likely stick with Maytag as other appliances come up for replacement.

Installed this myself 3 weeks ago to replace an older plastic-lined machine. Installation went pretty well, with the exception that I under estimated the depth of the new one. No worries, as it fits acceptably. In hindsight, I might have picked one with the controls on the front since they are completely hidden when the door is closed, leaving you with no idea how much time is left on the cycle.
So far this dishwasher has performed very well. The dishes come out clean and it is almost completely silent unless the dishes themselves are clanging together.

We are very pleased wtih the Matag top control built-in dishwasher. The third rack is a game changer in terms of space. The machine is so quiet, you can stand next to it while it's running and barely realize it's on. The controls are easy to use and the dishes come out spotless. We paid for installation and removal which took approximtely 20 minutes.

Good Dishwasher, Difficult Experience w/ Best Buy

The product is great, but Best Buy’s handling of the situation was stressful and time-consuming. I appreciate the eventual resolution, but the process should not have been this difficult.
The Maytag dishwasher performs very well — it’s quiet, cleans thoroughly, and includes a traditional exposed heating element that ensures faster drying. That feature is often missing in high-quality European models like Bosch, so it’s a nice advantage.
However, my purchase experience was complicated, with multiple delivery reschedules, unexpected billing changes, and issues with the protection plan. It took time and effort to resolve, but in the end, a store manager at the Brooklyn Gateway location helped me get everything in order.
Happy with the machine — just wish the process had been smoother.

I had a superba Kitchenaid for years and it finally gave up. Was a wonderfull perfect dishwasher. Dryed cleaned perfectly. Unfortunately , they don't make them that way anymore. Having said that and given that I had to research and work with what is available today I decided on the Maytag with three racks. It was hard as I know no dishwasher today uses the water and energy it takes to do a good job in a short period of time. I have learned a few tricks to make the dishwasher perform at it's best. Don't use the cycle that is given the energy rating as it uses very little water. Get one with sani rinse, high temp wash and extra dry. Also try the express cycle with dry option on Maytag. It uses more water and only takes a little more than an hour. If dishes are very dirty (i rinse mine first) use high temp wash, sani rinse and extra long dry. Most things will be dry at the end of the cycle. I am very suspecious of these reviews that say I was given a product as part of a promtion. So take them with a grain of salt.
I would buy the extended warranty on dishwashers today. The Maytag is not highly promoted and I don't know why. It gets very high ratings and works well. Has everything I need and is simple to use. How do I know all of this? I did buy a kitchen aid two rack dishwasher and returned it in a week as it just was too complex and was not as easy to use as Maytag. Also rubber came off door within two days. You can't go wrong with the Maytag as long as you buy extended warranty. Best Buy did a great job of installing my Maytag

We love the dishwasher! This unit was slightly above our intended price range, however other units had wait times so we went ahead with this one. So glad we did! We were initially skeptical of that top rack for small items, but we have discovered that it is very useful: the other racks are less cluttered now. The dishwasher is very quiet and easy to use. A win all the way around.

Removed our old dishwasher and installed this one without any issues. Available options are fantastic. Love the sanitizing and high heat drying options. Third tray and adjustable middle tray are one of those things you don't realize how beneficial they are until you use them. This is quiet too! If it were not for the light, I would not have a clue it is running. Regardless of what may be said about water left on the door and walls, this is working as designed and dishes are dry. And yes, this thing does not show finger prints! I wish I could say the same for our refrigerator and range! And I really like that the door frame is stainless as well, very easy to wipe down and keep clean. I am also able to see the timer just behind the lip of our counter to tell me how long until it is finished. This is also making me a former "heavy rinse before loading" owner. I have consciously only wiped off with used napkins, etc. before loading just to see how good it is. Dishes are coming out spotless! While lower cost products exist, so far I feel it was money well spent. Hopefully I will never have to see the "Maytag" repairman but only time will tell on the longevity of the quality.

Bought this Maytag to replace a KitchenAid that was only a few years old but gave us nothing but problems from day 1. Couldn't be happier. Wasn't sure about the 3rd rack, but it's more useful than I imagined. Quiet. Cleans great. Dries better than any previous dishwasher I've had. It's only been about a month, so can't speak to durability long term. But other than that this was a home run purchase, which is my experiences is a rarity with appliances these days.
