1st I want to say my local BB, delivery, install ppl were great. But right now I hate-hate this stove. Have a tech coming Tues for control panel issues. I now see some reviews w/same complaints and wonder why Maytag hasn't fixed known pblm yet! Pblm re: pre-heating & +/- touch pads that do not "rapid advance." To set timer 60 min you have to hit the + 60 times. So, that's not right!!! This oven replaced an old Maytag Gemini dbl oven I loved! The timer and controls would quickly move through the minutes/hours/degrees when the touch pad was held dn. Again, although the manual states "hold dn on the touch pad to rapid advance" ... it doesn't work. Leaning over a hot stove or burner to "hit 120 X to set the kitchn timer 2 hrs is ridiculous! Also the pre-heat settings have issue. I press "Bake" for lower oven and message appears "Rapid pre-heating for one-rack oven." (OK so instructions say one rack oven requires a special rack that doesn't come with the stove!!!! Wha What!!!) After that msg scroll it then says: "Select Start for Standard pre-heating." I press "Start" and then the scrolling msg goes back to "Press Start for Rapid Pre-heating" and continues to scroll 30 sec it seems and then does go off and pre-heats.You can't set the timer till that scrolling msg goes off... Annoying when your in a hurry. But then when it comes up to temp it said "Insert for one rack heating." I'm confused... the oven is confused and I'm not HAPPY argh. Keep in mind the reason I bought this stove is bc my Microwave blew up Christmas day and when I went to buy a new microwave the hubs and I ended up with an entire matching frig/stove and microwave. So, I don't want to return for another stove that doesn't match-- the whole point was to finally have matching appliances... argh!!! I'm disappointed in Maytag :( .... not my Best Buy sales guy or the store manager who is great... or the dely/install team, or the tech who called me this a.m. to clearly understand my issues. If they can fix this I w/change my review--- but for now buyer beware. Also I think Maytag's Engineers on this control panel failed bad... Maytag should consider feedback from real cooks. I would like Maytag to reach out to me. Until then I cannot recommmend this stove to anyone... so disappointed spending all that money for "matching" appliances. The stove/frig and micro do look BEAUTIFUL... but the stove's brain is on but nobody's home! If your not a serious cook you'd prob be fine with it-- just use your microwave's timer or an egg timer and don't use the lower oven lol.
