Awesome Collection, brings back memories sitting in front an old tv and playing these on my NES. The game looks and plays great and I love all the extras.

Nothing was going to stop me from buying this the day it came out. I grew up on this series and loved it every second of these games, except when I couldn't get passed a particular boss. But that's what Game Genie was for, right? Haha.

I've played through Mega Man 2 through 4 back in the NES days. The others, I never go the chance to play. It's been years since I last played any Mega Man game. Right off the bat, I started on Mega Man 2 and Quickman stage. I felt confident that I could get by the laser beams without the use of Flash Time. After a couple of tries, I managed to get through. However, when I faced Quickman himself, I got wrecked. Years of rust showed and made me realize just how cocky I was trying to take on Quickman on the first try.
In my quick play-through, I found myself enjoying the game despite its years old graphics and game mechanics. Still, it's a welcome change from all the other games I've played as of late. Something old, something refreshing, something nostalgic. The use of passwords in Mega Man 2 gives it the more authentic feel in today's age of quick saves. Sure, I could have looked up the password on the internet and be done with it. But where's the fun in that?
Seeing my Mega Man skills have rusted and dulled over the many years, it looks like I have to go back to basics and work on the foundation. And with the different feel now because of the PS4 controller, it'll take numerous tries until I get the handling down.

A Good, but Incomplete Collection

The Mega Man Legacy Collection consists of Mega Man 1-6. The transition from NES to PS4 makes the games look crisp. There is also a remix mode that mixes in elements from various stages and tasks the player with completing a speed run of them.
The biggest problem is that it is an incomplete collection. In 2004, there was a Mega Man Anniversary Collection for the GameCube and PS2 (later released on the Xbox in 2005), and that compilation had Mega Man 1-8 plus two bonus games, remixed music, and other additional content. By comparison, this package is lacking.
This is a good way to play Mega Man 1-6, but if you still have a PS2 or an Xbox, get the Anniversary Collection instead.

First off. There have been a number of Mega Man Collections released throughout the years. However, with this one. There are so many great extra features that it is worth getting again if you have these games already. Reason alone is the soundtrack for each game and 2 versions of each game. Japan and U.S. releases. Plus, the HD look with the original pixels from the 8-bit version is totally a sight. The save anywhere option is a special treat for those who have never played the game. Or in my case. Forgot how to play strategically. If you are a die hard fan of the originals like myself. You really won't be disappointed in this bundle.

Man ol man, do I miss these days. As a 30 something year old who grew up in the NES days, these classics hold up well and play better than most games today. Highly recommended.

I played these games as a kid and didn't have any trouble with them but playing as a grown-up I find them nearly impossible to beat. Haha. Not sure what happened but I can't get past any of the levels so far. But still fun reminiscing.

A lot of work went into this collection - and it shows! Tons of extras, modes and history about the MegaMan franchise. Some rare, very minor sound bugs, but only the super hardcore will notice.

When I was a kid, I used to own one of the Megaman games and it was nice to play it once more (after about 20 years); along with the others I missed. Brought so many memories of my childhood. With gamers club unlocked I saved some money and found that what I spent was well worth for the 6 games contained in this collection. To me this is classic old-school platforming at its best, which can get pretty challenging at times. I would recommend it to anyone that grew up and played some or all of these games, since it's nice to bring back those memories. Also to newcomers, as these games were classics that are a crucial part of videogame history. The possibility of saving state allows the game to become more accessible to audiences that otherwise might find it way too hard or that might want to save and continue on another day. Also, the art galleries were pretty nice to look at! I remember how I liked the designs of the bosses and, as a kid, wondering when would I encounter all the bosses shown in the box or manual; and how they would look like in the actual game and what moves they'll have during battle. Fan service definitely and very well done!

I couldn't pass up a Mega Man collection and the chance to replay the first 6 in upscaled HD. However crisp it now looks, 8-bit graphics is still 8-bit graphics. I guess this is why Capcom chose just the first 6 to keep the uniformity of the first 6 style. Note: Mega Man 9 & 10 call back to the 8-bit style but are not part of the original NES run. All in all, the games have never looked better but also have not been improved so lags and glitches are retained (for purity, I guess). There are a fair amount of customization options such as Screen Size, Monitor Emulation and Border graphics. The real gems are the Challenges and the wealth of Concept Art of Information. If you can find it for a good price and just want this to throw in and play some old Mega Man, it's a bargain but it's still not a definitive collection. It's titled "Legacy Collection" but it serves as only an introduction to the Mega Man legacy. Enjoy playing!

Mega Man Legacy is a great package with the original 6 games. Fun and great for any fan. It comes with some extra swag as well couple of stickers strategies for the games and a code for digital soundtrack. Definitely worth the price if you like the franchise.
