Fantastic open-world gameplay
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. To start off I have only played MGS 1. But the game itself and content does well into putting you where the story left off from previous games with audio cassettes. Now for the gameplay, I absolutely love the open-world stealth missions. Giving you the option to go in guns a-blazing or sneak into enemy camps. I've spent hours roaming the areas and enjoy trying to be stealthy even though I fail at times. If you are a huge fan of the series this is a must buy, the gameplay itself is different from all the previous titles. If you are just starting out, like myself, it is still a great game to buy granted the story might be a little confusing at times (watch cutscenes from previous titles if you don't have the time to play them). But still an amazing buy!

Solid MGS Game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Tons to do in the open world. Missions definitely feel different then the other. Some are pretty straightforward and some are surprisingly challenging. Visuals are great during intense action plus slow stealthy pace.

A Hideo Kojima Game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The end of an era as Hideo Kojima parts ways with the MGS series in a game that is a solid GOTY contender. Everything you'd expect from a Metal Gear Solid game is in this, and for fans of the series its a must buy.

The Best MGS Gameplay wise
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been a fan of the MGS series since PS1, but the series never really grabbed me like it has done to others. MGS V is by far the most fluid, most purely enjoyable entry in the series. Think of a much more grounded and realistic (physics-wise) Just Cause in which you can take down objectives in whichever manner you please. It also reminds me of Far Cry in the way that you can mark targets and sneak around, taking them out one by one. MGS was a pioneer in stealth games, but this one takes it to a completely new level borrowing aspects that made more recent games great. I recommend this game to anyone that likes open-world, third person shooters in which you have tons of different ways to play and be as creative as you want.

Don't get this game, start living under a rock!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Three words. Snake is back!!! Open world goodness with Kojoma all over it and you play as Snake. Don't think twice, don't say "I'm too busy, heck don't even go to work! This game will chew you up and spit you out in love and wanting more. Soo much personal choices that actively affect gameplay, funny extras and just beautiful overall. Possibly worthy to be your gorlfriend for the next couple weeks! Don't worry once your other half sees this beauty, she'll understand and love you when you come crawling out the man cave with a much longer beard and lighter complection than you had entering. Get this game and get it now. Kojima, Kojima, Kojima, remember that name and thank him in your prayers with this one!!!

Pain of being a phantom
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.this game is excellent. As a renownd fan of the series it was a pleasant surprise to see so much effort going into the fifth installment. The graphics are outstanding even though the frame rate occasionally dips below 30fps. The story is....well....confusing as it has been since metal gear 3. The world is detailed and expansive and it is clear the developers wanted to make sure that you knew you were in an open world sandbox. The game allows you to take many approaches similar to those of the Deus ex series. You can play stealthy and infiltrate locations and actually complete the entire game without killing anyone. You could also go in guns blazing (not recommended). You could even go straight for the main story objective right away or go and scope out Intel on the location and learn guard shift changes. Their routes, and even how things change during the night cycles. Another impressive note is that the entire game is dynamic in that day night cycles and guard patrols are different every time you play giving the game a lot of depth and keeping it from getting stale. I would recommend this to anyone who like splinter cell games or just any espionage based games. This game is too long for someone to just rent so again you should buy it.

A Hideo Kojima Game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain is the greatest entry in the Metal Gear franchise! The gameplay mechanics introduced in Peace Walker are expanded and made richer with the new addition of open world level design. Every mission can be approached in any way possible: non-lethal, lethal, non-lethal and lethal. The possibilities are endless! In addition to these additions, another addition was added that was sorely subtracted from previous entries: realtime helicopter rides! Salivate as you are taken to different locales in the time it would take you in real life. Finally, Quiet is a character for the true gamers, if you know what I mean! MGS5 is GOTY. MGS5 is A Hideo Kojima Game!

Different but for the better
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very different from its predecessors, The Phantom Pain takes a dive into open world gaming. Less story driven but always something going on and plenty of high-octane action. Highly recommended.

Amazing gameplay, sorry story
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.MGS V easily has the most polished, varied, and FUN gameplay of any Metal Gear game to date. The problem is, the story, pacing, and overall 'feel' of the narrative that fans have grown accustomed to is pretty much gone. Linear, focused storytelling is abandoned for an open world, mission based structure. Each mission can be taken on multiple ways. No two people will tackle objectives the same way. The available gadgets and gear, along with the ability to customize your gear AND loadouts, along w/ excellent enemy AI, leads to some incredibly satisfying gameplay moments. Everything feels great. It just doesn't feel much like Metal Gear anymore. Take that for what it's worth.

So many options
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The game starts off strong with an insanely good prologue rich with story and mystery, but then devolves into a mission by mission based game with little story to speak of. This doesn't bother me though, because of the freedom given on how to complete a lot of these missions. I end up making my own stories and telling my friends how I tackled a particular challenge and seeing how widely different our tactics were. I've played for roughly 10 hours and am only 6 percent in, so take that with a grain of salt. This game is huge and there may be major story content coming. Even if it didn't, this game is wonderfully designed and will challenge you to think outside the box.
