Customers find value in Metro Exodus's smooth gameplay and immersive story, with many praising the game's atmosphere and open-world elements. However, some players reported issues with long load times and a limited supply of ammunition. A few also mentioned challenges with the controls and some minor technical issues. Overall, the positive feedback on gameplay and story outweighs the negative comments regarding technical aspects.

This game sometines can be a little frustrating but is very immersive, gameplay is good, the surprise element is good. The most that I love about this game is the story, the dialogues, the bond between the group. And graphics are beautiful. 100% recommended if you like post apocalyptic games with a few moments that will make you jump from your gaming chair.

Great visuals, lighting, and sounds. Strong gunplay and a good scavenging/crafting system that doesn't take over the game. Exploration is rewarded, but it comes with a fair amount of risk. Good story that helps immerse you into this world even if you haven't played the previous games from the series.

Great game for the most part and by far the best in the series. Open world lite. Inconsistencies exist within the implementation of the interactions contained within the world but don't detract from the experience much. A very good game and well worth a purchase.

Taking this game solely on face value and having no previous knowledge of the series.....the game is great. Challenging, engaging, and wonderful mechanics. Although lines are cheesy, and story is predictable it's still enjoyable to see a non Western post apocalyptic game hit the mainstream. For metro fans although.....it's a okay entry and feels more of a case grab then a true conclusion to the series. Although the first two games are cult classics clearly the company wanted to earn money on the conclusion. The supernatural aspects are all but gone. There is no mention of the actions that occured in the first two games. Also, many of the story elements not only feel cheap but a slap in the face to the rest of the games. As a sole entry with someone having no background to the series it's a 8 out of 10. As a long standing fan of the series....7 out of 10.

I did not expect this to live up to the previous two games, but boy was I surprised. I love the gameplay and story in this game, and the mechanics were fantastic. I would definitely recommend this game. Shooter of the year candidate imo.

I have been a fan of the Metro series since it started. This game is amazing! It's a lot more open world than the last two games. It's still kind of linear but you get to explore a bit more. The graphics are stunning and the gameplay is good as well.

this game continues the metro story while adding an open world aspect to the game. Even thought it is open world it still maintains the gritty atmosphere gamers have come to appreciate. if your a fan of the metro series pick it up you wont be disappointed.

The visuals are good and the story is kind of cool but I found it to be a little “run of the mill” and got bored with it eventually.

This game is great and the details in the environtment are amazing, everything down to signs which are actually in Russian are right on spot. The only reason i give this a 4 is because the dialogue between characters lacks depth and sometimes they all talk over each other. The interactions with objects is a little off ( you have be pointing right to the thing you trying to pick up or interact with ) . Maybe its just me .. Thats it. Everything else is awesome. I love the gun system, love the environment. Pick up this game you wont regret it. I know the whole issue with Steam, and i get it, but if you have a console , there’s no reason not to give this game a chance.

I really wanted to love this game. i've played both Metro titles on PS4 and thoroughly enjoyed both. Exodus looked terrific based on trailers and previews, and in a lot of aspects it is terrific. It looks absolutely incredible, so if you just want a game for some eye candy, you can't go wrong here. It's among the best looking games I've every played on console.
However, there are some huge negatives here. And the big one for me is the framerate. I've played a lot of games at 30 FPS as a console gamer, and I don't despise it. I prefer 60 obviously, but I can live with 30. However Exodus struggles to stay at a consistent 30, and the gameplay/gunplay just feels awful. I'm not sure if that's a result of the framerate or what, but any type of movement is a total slog. It's a pain just to turn in this game. Aiming and shooting guns is comical.
The best way for me to describe it is like they took a walking simulator (think about something with really slow awful movement like Everybody's Gone to the Rapture or something) and gave you a gun. The environments are gorgeous, but the way you interact with them is brutal.
Let's not even get started on the voice acting, AI or character animations. All of which feel decidedly last gen. Which is all the more striking considering how next gen the game *looks*.
So yeah, a game I wanted to love, but it just would not let me. Maybe it's better on the PC. I've heard as much. But as a PS4 game (i played on a Pro btw) there's just no way I can recommend it in its current state. Wait til they do another Redux and put it out on the PS5.

The world they have created is amazing and truly unlike anything Metro has done in the past. The additions made to this title are welcomed and greatly improve the gameplay.

One of the strengths of this series is the way it generates and holds a sense of atmosphere. Another is that it doesn't just keep doing the same things over and over again. While there are certainly some callbacks to the first two games (Metro 2033 and Metro Last Light) this game strikes out in a new direction that affords a great excuse for more variety in the environments. The feeling of isolation that has so far characterized the series is tempered with what felt like chattier radio conversations and more sequences with companion NPCs. If anything this enhances the feeling of isolation during the sequences where you find yourself cut off and alone.

The Metro series has always been an underrated series. This game really brings it all together. I think of how the first two Witcher games were underrated and then Witcher 3 was just like BAM!
Of course, this isn't the same tier as Witcher 3, but it's the step in the right direction.
Going away from being strictly linear like the first two titles, you get some open world maps! Gun play is improved. Voice acting is great.
I'd recommend this to anyone. First, I'd really recommend playing the first two titles in the series.

Played the previous Metro games and this game follows up on the great gameplay, story line, it has a bigger map, and combat is great with different tactics!
