This game has some awkward controls, being timed and scored take away from the enjoyment a bit, and it's geared entirely to roughly toward multiplayer. Playing the single player makes it drag on, the fact that if makes you choose load outs and then weighs you down with them, boosted the modding system and built using them around getting medals in-mission, and, going back to the awkward controls, it starts you off in the gyro aiming, the game is painful. You can switch to Configuration B, which moves everything to the shoulder buttons, and the analogue nub. If your knuckles can handle that, it's a more comfortable control set up then moving your arms around trying to find the enemy. As for the story, it has potential. Even with the gameplay feeling aggravating at worst, phoned in at best, I've only played the first two levels and I'm interested enough in finding out what's going on to keep playing it. So, I wouldn't really recommend this to Metroid fans YET, but it would be a good way to go "Hey, if you liked that, go check all these other BETTER games" and make Metroid have a second coming.

This games has amazing music, controls and graphics that really pulls you in its atmosphere. It plays and feels like the original Metroid Prime in every way. The variety of missions keeps things fresh

If you're a die hard Metroid fan like me, you might have mixed feelings on this one. It's a pretty fun title, that has great sound design, level design, some innovative ideas with the gameplay, and great use of 3D. But something felt off about this title. The art direction when it comes to the characters/enemies are too cartoony for my liking, and this game is definitely better suited if you're playing it with others. Overall its a nice addition to the lore of Metroid, but I don't think it'll win over the masses.

People give this game too much hate. It plays exactly like a Metroid Prime game but has online missions. It is a great challenge and the graphics are great. The music and controls are fantastic

The game by itself is good but its not metroid. This is what not to do when a series has been dormant for a long time. buy on sale or used.

There have been mixed reviews about this game before it came out, I was reserved because I have always enjoy the Metroid Genre the graphics are great as far as the New Nintendo 3DS XL goes, but I feel its more of gameplay which matters and its fun to play. It has somewhat story but I think we should remember they are trying something new different so take it as that, nothing more. If you enjoy metroid, and like a FPS for the 3DSXL then this is the game for you

It might not have Samus as the main character but it still fits in the metroid universe. Great gameplay and good graphics.

The single/multiplayer main game has a metroid feel. It's not nearly as horrible as people say. The puzzles are intriguing; I wish the planets were more open world instead of sectioned off. And only playing with random people on blast ball isn't ideal when you want to get away from the story with friends.

Aside from the fact that this shares a universe with Metroid Prime, it has little else in common. The gameplay is totally different. Most of the gameplay consists of short missions. They're all varied, but not all fun. The controls are pretty good considering it's a 3DS as well. If you have a New 3DS, it does use the new control nub, but the controls are better without it.

I have lots of friends that won't touch this game because it truly doesn't play like a Metroid game I still find it very fun and you might like it too if you go into with the right expectations. It's a mission based shooter that's done very well especially if your playing on the newest 3ds with the extra stick/nub. Solid 4 Stars in my book.

Don't believe the biased hateful reviews stating this gane shouldn't be sold or played because it's "Not Metroid". They're a bunch of close minded nostalgic heads, this game is great! The game play is clean, the levels are well designed, and it's an enjoyable experience!

If you're a big fan of the Metroid series this probably isn't for you, since this seems to make everyone go crazy. I'm a fan of the Prime games but I never really got into the main series. I went into this just looking for a fun handheld shooter and I feel like I almost got that. I found the level design to be decent but the gameplay just boiled down to doing simple objectives and mashing the shoot button. The bosses in particular really drag this down in my opinion. If you're playing in single player they're all just annoying bullet sponges. If you still want to give this a try I'd wait for a sale.

First of all this game shouldnt be taken as a Metroid game. Thats why it got a lot of flack when it first came out. Its great for what its supposed to be although I recommend you play it with other players to fully enjoy it

It's a fun Game with a mini multiplayer story campaign. It brings a fun sports multiplayer that is similar to Rocket League. Treat it as a simple fps, don't compare it to the console Metroid Prime games :]

As anyone will likely say, this is not a true Metroid game. That being said, it's a fun game in its own right. I played this as a solo game and didn't have too much trouble aside from a couple missions, but I'm sure the multiplayer is good as well. Honestly, it's not as bad as most fans would have you think.

this is a very average shooter for the 3DS with passible controls and a decent variety of missions. This game is best played with other players, either locally or online, as the game was clearly not built with solo players in mind. It can be done but it is a pain.

Sure, it's not a "real" Metroid game that we were all hoping for, but it's a decent shooter in it's own right. If you're looking for an FPS on the 3DS, don't pass on this just because of all the negativity surrounding it for not being the Metroid game everyone wanted it to be. It's different, but that's not a good reason to call it bad without trying it.

It's worth buying if you can get it on sale. It might be rare at some point due to the fact no one brought it. Check out my gaming channel launching next weekend (5/6/17). I will discuss Mass Effects future and more on YouTube next weekend. My gaming channel will be called retrobasement. My name is Miguel Torez so email me if you have questions.
