Ok laptop, but poor battery.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The laptop itself is easy to use and functions well, once you get past the typical windows based issues. Like, it is near impossible to get Microsoft Edge to STOP updating. I often leave multiple windows open for days at a time, and HATE coming back to a rebooted laptop with yet another revision to Edge. Sure, it will restore the previously open Edge windows, “most” of the time.(But not always). However, it is still a pita that you can not just turn the auto-update OFF!!! The laptops biggest issue is the battery, it was never great, but it used to be tolerable. However, the older it gets, the shorter the lifespan gets, and now as it approaches the 4yr mark the battery life is down to about 1hr as a full unit. I have no idea how short it would be with the screen detached, as I gave up doing that, soon after I bought it. The fact the battery, memory, and SSD can NOT be easily changed out, keeps me from recommending any Surface Book, regardless of series. If you are fine having something that can not easily be upgraded or repaired.... just buy an ipad. The Surface Book's are well suited for a work environment, where the company just hands you a new one when the battery becomes useles...

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Spent a lot of money in store that night on a new Surface Book & rep sold me wrong case, turns out there is not case for the most expensive computer/laptop I have ever purchased - I did not try the fit immediately assuming that since a sales rep suggested I add it to protect my new purchase. I feel duped and sad that I may not be able to have protective case for this pretty good so far product.
