There's nothing really particularly interesting about a dongle, but this does the job perfectly. I use it to connect my Microsoft Surface Pro 4 to a 32" TV as an extension monitor when I need LOTS of extra screen real estate. Images are as crisp as they can be via HDMI (of course, the Surface's screen resolution is WAY higher than the TV's, but I knew that going in). Overall, it works like a charm.

I went through 2 cheapos until I found out neither of them supported 4K @ 60hz. I thought my monitor was junk. Then I realized I somehow missed that specification. Super important.
I went with Microsoft because I have a surface pro 6 and felt there wouldn’t be any issues. I was right. Wow. My new Samsung UHD is STUNNING and works at full spec.

Used this cable to adapt easily and efficiently to external monitors while working in remote locations. Quick connection and small enough to pack away for that quick business trip.

Works extremely well for connecting surface to a monitor. You pay for the name, but also get good quality/reliability.
Have used it for 11 months now with zero issues.

New desktop only provided mini display ports, Existing 32-inch wide-screen monitors only took HDMI inputs. This worked perfectly, retaining full screen width and full resolution. Cheaper adapters ($10 kind) apparently do not provide the proper voltage, and would downgrade the input to standard screen widths at high resolution, or maintain wide screen widths at a lower resolution. Even Dell tech support couldn't solve the problem with the cheaper adapters.

While there might be other brands with a lower cost, I decided to keep all my computer connections Microsoft to go with my Surface. It works perfect and I know it'll last. Every time I try to save money with something cheaper, I just end up replacing it sooner then later. So might as well buy quality the first time.

I purchased this adapter to connect to my iMac mini displayport to connect my 4K TV. Seems to be a really good adapter, but obviously I believe it plays well with Microsoft stuff better than with Mac stuff, which is to be expected and not surprising at all.
But I do believe it fulfills its purpose for what it's for and it is a good adapter. Just make sure that your iMac is recent enough that it's mini displayport is like v1.2 and supports at least 60 Hz to take advantage of what this adapter does.

Works perfectly on my Dell Precision 7540 when connected to my 4k monitor @ 60 Hz. Had to get a full speed HDMI cable to make the monitor work, but that was expected since my old cable was not a HDMI 2.0 cable

I bought this adapter to add HDMI display capability to my Surface Book. Since thus is a Microsoft product, there were no compatibility issues. Paired with a 12' cable, I have used it successfully in several different settings.
Would like to see Microsoft come out with a dual SVGA/HDMI adapter. For now, this works as advertised without any problems.

The night before a meeting held at my house, I realized I needed this cable to connect my laptop to my super-sized TV so I could display photos during the meeting. Best Buy had one in stock, so I ordered it online and made it to the store to pick it up just before closing. The cable worked perfectly and saved the day!

A simple review for a simple adapter: The MS Surface Display Port to HDMI Adapter does exactly what it is built to do, with no need to change or configure the laptop. Makes it easy to use a larger screen monitor, or even a large screen TV.

This adapter is necessary for anyone using a Microsoft Suface or Macbook to conduct presentations using HDMI as standard HDMI cords do not fut these devices. It is simple to use and fitss well into the device and standard HDMI cord.

Works as intended. It’s a pretty decent adapter, doesn’t feel cheap. And it is a real converter from mini DisplayPort to really HDMI at 4k 60hz. So if that’s what you’re looking for, this does the job well.
