I do design work both professionally and recreational and this pen makes my time spent with digital design both easier and fun. It's accuracy to the screen is incredibly useful and makes drawing digital feel natural again. Super simple connection and once I got it I was hooked. I find myself doodling in my down time with it since it has such a pencil to paper feel. Artists of all abilities should give this a shot and see for themselves how much they'd enjoy it.

This is a beautiful pen to use, it feels very natural and the blue color is awesome. It has good battery life and is very easy to pair with your device. I prefer it to the second gen model because of its shape, as I do not like the flat sided design of the second gen. it is light weight and feels good in your hand. Microsoft makes quality products. Great purchase!

A good buy on discount, works seamlessly with my Surface device. Mostly use it for page scrolling and note taking. It is more comfortable for me to grip than the Apple Pencil, feels smoother against the screen. Also wonderful that the top button also works as an eraser with compatible Surface devices and programs. Technically outdated compared to Surface Pen 2 but still a solid choice.

I really love this pen. It works great with surface devices and surface duo without the need to pair. The color is very trendy. I finally bought a hard pencil case because it will break if you just throw it in your bag without any protection against rubbing.

A must have if you have a surface pro! You cannot have one without the pen. It works great and feels like the real deal.

Works perfectly with my Surface Studio and tablet, absolutely love the color and soft texture. Also, has a good weight to it, I do a lot of drawing on the computer and find that the weight makes it feel more like the real deal. My favorite part is being able to program the eraser and how easily it snaps to the side of my screen so it doesn't get lost!

Love the surface pen. Works great. Unfortunately, it is also easy to lose. :( Was able to replace again. Worth the investment to buy something to secure it. I use with surface book 2 laptop. I have both the Apple Pencil and this one. Compatibly I like both. This pen is a little nicer as you don’t aways have to charge it up to use it, unlike the Apple Pencil.

I have been using pen computing since my first Palm device in 1998. This is hands down the best digital pen I have used in that time. It is accurate, pressure sensitive, and reliable. It will magnetically attach to the side of your Surface device and generally stays put, though bagging your Surface roughly or manhandling it will obviously knock it off. It is battery powered using an AAAA (yes, 4-As) battery. Some might prefer this (as I do) some might prefer a rechargeable battery like the Apple Pencil. I prefer the AAAA because the built in ones die and then you have to buy a whole new pen. I don't want my $100 pen's life limited by the number of recharge cycles when I'm a heavy user. The sole complaint that I have is that the pen on my Surface Pro has a built-in clip and this pen, which I bought for my wife's Surface Book does not. This makes it more likely to roll away. It's minor enough that I didn't take away a star, though if I was allowed, it would have brought it to a 4-1/2 star review. If you actually *use* pens in computing, you definitely want this. I use a lot of digital ink in note taking in OneNote, document review/markup in Word, and for "wet-ink" signatures. It also serves as a mouse when I'm on the fly with my Surface. If you only want it as a portable mouse, however, you could save the money and get a good mobile Bluetooth mouse for half the cost.

I bought this to use with my Surface Pro 7. It came with the battery already installed. It writes very smooth. You flip it over just like a pencil to erase. I opted to buy this open box to save additional money. It came with everything that a new would. If you have any if the Surface devices, then this pen will complete your purchase.

I got this when it was on sale at Best Buy and they were offering it cheaper than anywhere else I could find. The normal price is a little steep in my opinion. But it works great with the Microsoft Surface Pro 6. I find myself using it for more than drawing and art. I have used Wacam tablets and styluses previously but this is a superior experience that I highly recommend.

The Microsoft Surface Pen is an absolute essential for any Surface device owner! Its precision and responsiveness are unparalleled, making it feel like I'm writing or drawing on paper. The pressure sensitivity and tilt support add incredible versatility for artists and note-takers alike. The magnet attachment to the Surface device is a clever touch, ensuring it's always within reach. Battery life is impressive, and it's incredibly easy to recharge. The seamless integration with Windows Ink enhances productivity and creativity. While the price might be higher than other stylus options, the Surface Pen's quality and performance justify the investment. It's a must-have tool that elevates the entire user experience.

My friend and I both have Surface Book laptops but he got the previous generation Surface pen with it. When I got my Surface Book I was somehow able to pick up this new version cheaper than the older version in this beautiful ice blue color. The older version needed a lot more pressure to get it to work. With this new version the lightest tap is registered and I love that! It just feels a whole lot better. I can just write more naturally than before. I love the fact that it has an eraser too! I also have the Apple Pencil for my iPad pro and I would take the Surface Pen over the Apple Pencil any day! Not to mention it's a whole lot cheaper (especially when it goes on sale). While it works out of the box you need to set it up via Bluetooth to take full advantage of the built in eraser button.

I originally purchased the surface pen from Bamboo which promised all of the same features as the Microsoft version. That was a mistake. The Microsoft pen is far better in writing, feel, accuracy, and the ability to stick via magnet to the side of my Surface Book Pro. Worth the extra money over generics to get this right.

I can’t recommend getting this to pair with your Surface enough. If you’re into drawing or sketching at all it opens up a whole new world of graphic design. It’s high quality, the battery lasts a long time (though it can be hard to find AAAA batteries in the wild), and it works like a charm. Very happy with this purchase.

Wouldn't have necessarily purchased this separately for my Surface Pro7 but it was part of my bundle and so grateful. Now that I've used it I would definitely invest in one again. It is lightweight, high quality and extremely useful in efficiently using my 2in1 in the highest range of abilities.

Have been using this for a couple months now and have found it to be accurate and reliable for use with my Surface Pro. It seems to be top notch quality and I would have rated it a 5 except for two items. 1) I find the button to be difficult to operate because I have to always fiddle with the pen's orientation in my hand before I can use it--somewhat inconvenient and 2) it lacks any sort of clip to attach it safely to a shirt pocket

OK - we all know this pen is expensive, but it works so much better than the generic brands. The response is super fast and seamless. It works faster than a mouse plus I can pin-point with greater accuracy on the screen. This pen can draw, erase and write notes. Love it so far.

It's the most current pen that functions effortlessly with my Surface Book 2. It has a funny felt tip that has a great effect of producing a little bit of friction on the glass surface and feels nice to scribble on the display. The 4000 levels of pressure works, and is adjustable from within the Surface app, but I haven't felt the need to fiddle with the settings. The pen has nice weight to it, and feels really solid. The one button on the side seems like a long button but only actuates closer to the tip of the pen, It's also pretty flush to the body so finding it can be a tad annoyance. The eraser end acts as an eraser and does it's job well. A good pen but at the full asking price of $99, it's kind of a tough sell. No extras were included in my brand new box so honestly, I'd recommend buying open-box or if you have some discounts, you'll feel better about your purchase.
