the surface pro is good for what I use it for most of the time, it does sometimes freeze up. It is easy to carry but wish best buy had a better selection of case. Surface pro is easy to use and the camera takes ok pictures. overall I think it is a little over priced but will buy again. I think it is better for my needs than my ipad.

This is my first PC. I have had little experience with a PC for the last 14 years and not much before that. I am 72 years old. I have found this Surface Pro 2 a delight to learn and use. I have installed 2 CAD programs for my hobbies, I search the web, I check 3 email accounts and many other things. The Surface Pro 2 meets all my needs and then some.

The battery was a huge upgrade and will last me the day at school but when i play games only lasts me a few hours so it stays plugged in. This Tablet runs lightning fast even with the smaller processor and I have experienced little to no hiccups in the UI. I wish the desktop was a little clearer but it isn't a big deal.

I really love my Surface Pro. It's the only thing I use now. It's just nice to have a product that is small and easy to carry around. It's not as light as my iPAD but that's not a big problem for me. This is just a great product so far; only had it for a month but so far it's awesome.

I love this tablet/laptop! I got the Type Keyboard to with it and that makes it a full laptop when needed. It is fast, doesn't lag, battery lasts a decent amount of time, and portable compared to my Toshiba Satellite laptop. I love using it with my Xbox One, especially Dead Rising 3.

This tablet completely replaces my lap top, I have Excel, Word and all the legacy programs running on the Pro2, as my lap top. It's fast, easy to hold and use. I print wirelessly. The stylus gives me multiple uses, including cut and paste, or written notes. Truly worth it.

Overall comfortable tablet to use. Actually it is a tablet PC with "Kick A**" power and detachable keyboard - Bluetooth or wireless mouse and keyboard option. Annotation of documents especially in One Note is easy and exceptionally precise with outstanding graphic options from the MS Pen Stylus Active Digitizer - integrates well (flawlessly) with WACOM technology drivers for pressure sensitivity. Windows Defender no longer allows a single check on a downloaded file. Miss Drop down App List in Start Menu - No Network Map (Otherwise this is a 9 out of 10 star machine.) With Office 8.1 and Verizon Hot Spot and all wireless add-ons came in at about 1600 (This a 100% fully loaded price.) Beautiful to teach from using a DLP

Easy to use, took some getting use to because of window 8 for me, have been using windows 7. The swiping is a bit confusing but getting use to it. Love using it, I had been using my kindle fire for quick look ups and have to go to my laptop for other things which was a little inconvenient because it is heavy an bulky. Now i can whip out my New Surface Pro 2 and do what my laptop does.

I bought the Surface Pro 2 primarily for work because it can hook up via VPN. So far it has worked seamlessly for me. I have been able to add software that helps me in my work. I have used it for presentations, e-mail, contact organization, etc. It is an impressive machine. The 256K was not available yet, so I went with the 128K version. Now I am glad I did not spend the extra $$ toward to next upgraded version. It is time to start learning more about the pen .... a work in progress. I am very pleased with the purchase of this techno machine.

This is probably the best thing I have bought in a long time. Compared to regular computers, this boots up in 15 seconds, it's quick and easy to use, and I love the Windows 8, Touchscreen. Rarely, software will load slowly, but mostly this is a great portable laptop and tablet. You can organize it to include anything you want, from email, weather, news, maps, pictures, calendar, music, etc. I added a 64G SD card, for much of my data storage. Great quality video, and mostly okay audio. External speaker helps (Bluetooth, of course).

I purchased the Surface Pro 2 and am very happy with use at work and home. I also have the IPAD and barely turn it on anymore. I purchased the Plugable USB 3.0 Docking station and can plug in at office to the Surface usb 3.0 and have two 23 inch HP montiors (plus the surface screen), keyboard, mouse, speakers, and several usb slots. With this setup you have a tablet when you want and a full workhorse computer when you want. I am also happy with windows 8.1 especially with the touchsreen. So when you consider this as replacing both my desktop at office and laptop I am replacing two computers computers and all the associated software I need to run both and i don't have to lug around a hefty laptop. I do wish i could update the video card for best gaming results.

Love the ease of use. I fought off tablet/small computers for a long time. Wish I would not have waited. I love the free cloud storage that comes with it. Had a difficult time getting Skype to work with it. Had to install the desktop version in place of the app. Have to get the keyboard, the good one with back lighting. The cheap version is like typing on cardboard. Spend the money.

    Amazing Computer

I have had my Surface 2 Pro 128GB version for a week now and I have to say that it is the greatest computer I have ever owned. The screen is remarkable. It is bright and clear with great color. It is fast. The i5 processor is faster than the Phenom II x3 720 Black Edition I have and that has it's 4th core unlocked and is overclocked to 3.4 GHz. The storage is adequate. I had real reservations about the storage space. 128 GB isn't much after you have loaded some stuff on it. I loaded on Star Trek Online, Steam with Fallout New Vegas, Morrowind, and a few smaller games, Open Office, and about 30 apps. I also got a 64GB micro SD card for it that I loaded music and movies onto. Thanks to that I have no problems at all with space. I still have 2/3 of the drive free, I also had reservations about the Microsoft Store. Those have been put to rest. There is enough stuff there to survive. I found the selection adequate and it had some version of whatever app I wanted. It also had a few really fun games including Halo: Spartan Assault, classic Windows games like solitare, majhong, minesweeper, and tablet classics like Angry Birds. The Type 2 keyboard is very nice. It has good key travel and your fingers just sort of slide over it's smooth surface. It makes for a very enjoyable typing experience. The pen input is amazing. I read that the Surface 3 was coming out moments before placing my order and did not go for the 3 because it replaces the pen. I. Love. This. Pen. The digitizer and pen are WACOM technology meaning that, aside from WACOM's own tablet, you are getting the best pen out there. Writing with it has been interesting because of the lack of friction on glass but once you have mastered it the thing is like butter. Smooth, fast, and very responsive when writing or drawing. I have a lot more things I like so I'll just make a list: Kickstand, Charger has USB port for charging other devices, Has a USB port, Has good audio, Metal design is sleek and pretty, Gets great battery life (regularly get an average of 6-7 hours of use#, Can play games #Yeah, like real ones. Star Trek Online, Fallout NV, Oblivion, HL2, etc.), Finally - It's a full PC that fits in your hands. The only problem I have with it doesn't even knock a star off. It's a pretty chunky beast. It is a little heavier than I would like but it's not unbearable. I'm chunky myself so I usually rest it on my stomach. Overall I am more than pleased. This is an amazing piece of technology and worthy of it's premium price. Some say that other tablets to some things better but at the end of the day none do as many things right as the Microsoft did with the Surface.

The computer is very good, laid out nicely and with the keyboard it is a good transition to touch screen. Windows Vista to 8.1 is a HUGE transition, with little or no help in the box, windows for dummies was of little help. I got a manual download from Microsoft that really helped so I am off and running. I learn more everyday. Suggestion: not all of us consumers were brought up with computer science classes in high school a small intro course to windows 8.1 would have been very usefull.
