Although the price of the Surface Pro 2 may seem steep, it truly needs to be thought of as a powerful laptop - not a tablet. I thought I was going to use it to replace both my laptop and iPad, but I still haven't quite been able to give up the iPad. However, I have no regrets on switching to this as my laptop. I love being able to carry it anywhere. I am still learning to navigate Windows 8 (I am a former Apple user). What better computer to use to learn a Microsoft operating system then a Microsoft Surface? There are no glitches when it comes to things running right. It can be a bit awkward to hold when sitting in a recliner, but the lap desk solved that problem. The screen size takes some getting used to when coming from a larger laptop - but portability is a nice trade off.

Bought the Surface Pro 2 to replace my iPad2. Needed a tablet so that I could do some work related things. Being able to use Excel, Word, PDF Anonnator makes it real productive. It's Terrific ! Boot Up is so fast that I was actually shocked. And the CPU is also fast, Multi-tasking is not a problem. So good that I haven't used my laptop since buying the SP2. My only complaints would be that it is a bit expensive and a little heavy for a tablet ... If it was a little cheaper and light as my Ipad2 I would have rated it ALL 5 Stars. Would I recommend it ? YES, if it is within your budget.

I got the surface pro 2 because I needed something that will help me later on in my teaching career. I choose to get this because it has the laptop function but I can still use it as a tablet. This product is a little too heavy to be walking around as just a tablet alone. I believe its great to use if you wanted to watch Hulu or netflix but other then that its just heavy to carry. The other thing that I was upset is that outlook does not correlate well with gmail. As a student, my schools email is a gmail account and it sucks that I cannot email attachments or forward emails from my outlook email to gmail. That is the one thing that i hate about this product. I am hoping they will fix this issue soon but I highly doubt they will.

When Microsoft came out with the Surface, I decided that that was what I wanted when my laptop was getting too old. I like that it is light enough to travel with, but also is a computer. When I travel, I take my laptop with me. Even though my laptop is fairly light, it gets heavier when I have to walk inside the airport terminals. The Surface is much lighter. I do not find Windows 8 all that difficult but then my laptop has Windows 7. The only thing I was disappointed in was that the Surface Pro 2 does not come with Excel.

The Surface Pro 2 is an excellent laptop replacement. The device is fast and is at the login screen within a few second of powering up. The size is just right, and it has all of the features you need for business use. The only complaint I have is the small size of the SSD. You pay a premium for the Surface Pro's with the larger SSD's, and they are still not very big. Subtract around 25-30 gigs from the size of drive you have and that is the available free space you start out with with when you first turn it on.

I bought this to replace a former laptop that died. Since it's used mostly for internet surfing and e-mails, as well as to occasionally perform some writing and editing for work at home, the Surface aspects appealed to me. Excellent portability, lightness of use, the ability to easily load and use apps were top draws, but having the capability to use MS Office sealed the deal. It is easy to use, flexible to my needs, and the screen is bright and large enough. I've found nothing I really don't like at this point.

Everybody normally wants to use an iPad for school, but it doesn't have run adobe flash or Microsoft office not making it very school friendly since you run into certain websites that require flash. With the surface pro 2, you have all of these things and much more! Sure, it's a tad bit heavier and bigger but it's still smaller and lighter than a laptop with similar features of a tablet with full laptop capabilities. Best thing ever created to make my college life somewhat easier. Definitely recommend this.

The new Surface Pro 2 is very nice. Bought it, fired it up and fell in love. Can use as a tablet witch is great but can also use like a full blown laptop. Click in the keyboard, fire up Microsoft Office and you are golden. Great purchase and super happy. If your looking for an all in one replacement for both a tablet and laptop look no further, this is it.

It is a really good product because you have a Tab with the Lap flexibility and you can manage the microsoft programs and Tab aplications, The only thing that I do not like is the memory size but I solve the problem buying an external one terra memory at the store and it cost me less than 50 dollars. The another good thing is when you buy the surface you can buy the office in that moment with a store discount.

Use this for portability with work. It's nice having a system as capable as a laptop/desktop that is easy enough to carry around and not obtrusive. Had problems with my first one, blue screen of death, and could never get of it. Best Buy customer service always keeps the customer first; reviewed the issue, totally agreed, and gave me a replacement on the spot. Adding to the system a keyboard and mouse brought the cost to close to $1500. Pricey but does provide me a piece of mind with being able to connect to work.

Overall, the Surface Pro 2 is an amazing product. It's powerful enough to play Titanfall on low settings using Intel's beta video driver. The frame rate can be low during heated battles, but overall its a very capable portable gaming tablet if you so desire to use it for this reason. Obviously battery life can be a concern when in high performance mode, but if you keep it on power saving mode, it can last an entire workday if needed. I use this for taking notes during meetings and OneNote is pretty awesome for keeping track of everything and keeping it organized.

I purchased my surface pro 2 to replace a 7 year old laptop that was showing it's age. The surface pro allows me to install 3rd party applications that I regularly used on the laptop. I am continuing to find more and more times where it comes in very handy, given its small size and light weight compared to my old laptop. Overall I would not hesitate to recommend the Surface Pro 2 to those who are thinking about replacing an aged, or larger laptop.

I had a bulky college laptop which needed replaced and the surface pro 2 was perfect. It's great as long as you have the keyboard and you get the pro. Being able to install normal windows programs on a tablet is something no one else is doing. The only issue I have with it is the lack of apps from the windows store (i.e. no Pandora, Spotify, etc.)

The Surface Pro 2 is finally the great tablet/laptop combo I have been waiting for. It works pretty much like my desktop and connects to my cloud programs with no problems. I like the tactile keyboard much more than the flimsy one offered. One trade off is the small text due to its tablet size; however, it's much better surfing the web on this rather than on your small phones, so I definitely recommend it! Oh yeah, you can Skype on it too!
