The surface has been great in the classroom. Since it runs the full Windows system, I can install custom software for seamless classroom integration. It is easy for me to take notes and work on documents and keep up to date with all my apps. I definitely recommend it! This surface is more than just a tablet...it will totally replace your laptop or desktop.

This replaces a samsung note. It can handle all my business software with ease. I miss the back button andriod tablets have for ease of use. The case is very slippery. It would have been nice to have a rougher back so it would be easier to hang on to.

This is a great device. I use it everyday. The pen has great precision and now I don't need paper I use the pen and onenote. So much easier on my back than bringing my laptop around.

The surface pro 2 is a good tablet to use in a business environment. Even with the cons it can be a better option than a laptop for business users needing a portable device, but do not want a large laptop.
Pros
It runs a full version of Windows.
Full desktop programs to be installed.
Can be joined to a domain.
Docking station lets it function like a full computer.
Cons
The screen size feels small compared to an iPad.
Heavier than an iPad.

Thought about a tablet for a while - have a Motorola xoom - but when working with windows and office for years just could not get comfortable. The surface pro is a great machine - lightweight, good screen, and fast processor. I would recommend for anyone on the go who needs to be productive.

I've had it for over a month now. Primary use is to take to meetings for note-taking. Also a resource - can keep all my work files (Excel and Word) and have them available for reference it a meeting. Screen too small for me - feels a little claustrophobic. I'll try out the docking station at some point, and hook it up to a full sized screen and real keyboard.
Type cover good, not perfect.
Battery life good - looks like it's good for a full days work.
I also use at home to track personal medical info. Fast startup beats any other method.

I bought my surface about a month ago to replace my iPad and it was the best decision I have made. So much more available than the iPad, more storage space and much faster for everything. The only thing I would have to say that isn't good is that I can find a case that I like for a decent price, other than that great product all over. A little pricey for me but well worth it.

I bought the Surface to be able to easily check my e-mails and surf the web anywhere in my house or while on trips at places that have wi-fi. The surface is easy to use and allows me to multi-task while doing other things like watching TV. I also wanted more than a tablet. The Surface is a great combination of a tablet and a small laptop. The keyboard has great touch.

Was looking for a tablet that was more convenient then a laptop and found this table fits the requirement and can do anything my laptop can do. I would strongly recommend the Microsoft Pro for anyone looking for a tablet that you can use like a laptop.

I bought my Surface Pro 2 (with the Type cover) primarily for travel or light-duty tasks such as internet browsing or word processing and use a traditional laptop for more intensive work-related tasks. Like any tablet, it comes with some compromises, but it's a great device if you understand that going in. This was my first experience with Windows 8 after a number of years with Mac OS, so there's a learning curve involved, both with the operating system and the touch screen. There's a single USB port, no HDMI, and no ethernet. You'll need WiFi (not a problem for most users) for internet access, and I'd recommend getting a Chromecast or USB-HDMI adaptor if you don't have a Smart TV. The touch screen is responsive, and the handwriting recognition is better than expected, but considerably slower than typing. The on-screen keyboard is satisfactory for simple things, but get the Type cover if you plan on doing anything more than a sentence at a time. Overall, I've been very impressed so far; just don't expect to be able to use it as a workhorse computer.
Fun fact - I've heard complaints that there's no easy way to store the included stylus when you're not using it. If the charger's not plugged in, the stylus snaps into the port on the right side.

I bought this Surface for online classes, and it performs excellent. I never loose connection or speed and it's very quick on booting up any program. Although the screen is a bit small the pen included helps navigate through the Surface Pro 2 90% of the time. Very fun and PRODUCTIVE COMPUTER.

I absolutely love this tablet. I have had the same PC for years and really needed a tablet to use at college. The layout is great and extremely easy to use. This tablet is great especially if you need to add software like you would on a PC or laptop. I highly recommend this product!!

The device was super easy to load and setup. Most of the setup went as smoothly as the setup of my iPhone or iPad - very intuitive and straight forward - don't have to have IT support person handy. Only exception I am having is with access to my office network. But email, printing, internet all super easy to get up and running. Window 8 for Outlook is what is giving me most pause. I am trying to use this as a replacement to my office Dell setup - 95% there.

owned the original surface pro when it first came out...and it was the battery that didn't allow me to depend on the iPad! And even in this version the battery life isn't stunning-hoping the battery type cover coming out next year will fix that. All that aside, it still is by far the best windows tablet I've ever owned (had 5 others prior to the surface pro).

This was my first tablet purchase so it took some getting used to, especially since I was new to Windows 8 as well. Once it was set up, it was very easy to use and became almost instinctive after a week or so. Still working on the onscreen keyboard but I'm working on it.

It's a great device. It definitely redefines the PC as we know it. It's fast and cool. But quirky. Just don't buy it expexting it to be something you can use flawleslly without ever saying "what the heck." Better than an old timey PC despite it's quirks.
