It's pretty great. I've been using my Surface Pro 3 from work, and was in love with that... so I wanted to get one for my personal use and this went on sale. I love it more than the Surface Pro 3. The Surface Pro 4, with the m3 processor runs quieter (no fan) and stays cooler (I was noticing how hot my work surface would get). Great updates to the keyboard, didn't buy the pen, but haven't really needed it yet. I'll take this over an iPad any day.

A Powerful Computer

For its size this Surface Pro 4 is fast and fully equipped with the software programs I love in Windows 10. It recognizes my face instantly, no passwords or pins required. I do sketches of my planned oil paintings to help visualize what I would like to see in the final oil painting - very cool and useful feature. I cold not be happier with the easy to travel with Surface Pro 4. Additionally, the back lighted keyboard is a pleasure to use.

Excellent light weight portable computer

I wanted a very light weight computer for use while traveling. The Surface Pro 4 fits the bill nicely. It has limited storage room and ports; but if one attaches a multiple connector to the USB 3.0 port, additional items can be attached as needed, such as a remote mouse, CD drive, or external hard drive. I have found this to be a very good choice for traveling -- particularly if you can find it on sale.

Good System and Portable Convenience

Good system if you want the convenience of a tablet/laptop/portable computer. Flaws: occasionally fails to recognize the keyboard. The fix for that is to disconnect the keyboard then reconnect it. Also, the keyboard gets stained easily from simple everyday usage due to the material of the keyboard (just touching the keyboard everyday has stained it brown and given it a dirty look). So now the pretty silver color keyboard is stained brown and looks very dirty so quickly in only a few months of buying it. I wish it came in black to hide dirt/stains. I tried cleaning it but no luck, still can't get rid of the stain. If anyone knows how to get rid of the stain, I would greatly appreciate you letting me know. Overall, this Surface is a good system and portable convenience.

Using my new SurfacePro to write this review. I was an iPad user for years before this, until my iPad started going on the fritz and freezing all the time. I have to say, until I got the SurfacePro, I didn't realize how much I missed having a keyboard at the ready while I was surfing the internet. The SurfacePro is super light, but so convenient to have around. I love it!

I bought this during the Black Friday sale for $599 and I am thoroughly impressed. The intel m processor had me semi-concerned but the Surface Pro 4 is extremely snappy and energy efficient. I recommend this for anyone looking for a way to get work done on the road without the ability to charge often. I haven't purchased the pen yet but that will be my next purchase.

For some time now I was considering buying a new laptop. However, with all the new options in the market I was not sure what to get. I needed something lightweight, travel friendly and with all the best components of a PC. I found it with the Surface. Is easy to carry, travel and so easy to use. I don’t miss my bulky laptop and can work as if I was using one.

I also own a Surface 3. I dropped it and broke the glass and lost the ability to 'touch' the screen. The Surface 4 I'm reviewing was on sale and I couldn't resist it. The processor is fast and I like the size of the screen, The reason I got my first Surface was because it had a USB port. Obviously, the '4' has one, too.
I also purchased the pen but I'm still getting used to it so I can't really say anything about it. I always show what it can do to my friends who own an Apple pad.

Enjoying my Surface Pro 4 with the m3 processor. The facial recognition works great, the screen looks great, and the processor is fast enough to stream in HD without issue. The SSD helps it boot and open apps quickly. Overall I am happy with the fit and finish of this device.

Purchased Surface Pro Bundle weekend of Veterans Day 2016 as this was a pre-black Friday deal. Great bundle for the price of $599. Did not include the pen but I purchased it with best buy and instead of being $50 was $30. Point being-- this is an excellent product with stylish keyboard but definitely made better with a great price point.

The Pro 4 is a welcomed upgrade from my original surface pro. The screen size is easier for applications to scale. One drawback is the usb port on the same side as the power port, though not huge issue. Battery life is great improvement with the M3 core processor. added a 200gb sd card and now i have plenty of storage.

My bf bought me this surface pro as a birthday gift. I am so in love with this computer! It's super fast and the graphics are amazing. Very light weight, you can bring it easily anywhere. The different color keyboards make a great addition. My favorite is the red! Thinking about buying another one for my niece!

Slim Slate that's Not the Best Lappy

I'll start with the good - the touch display is super responsive; the tablet is thin, stiff, and mostly lightweight; the m5 processor is more than sufficient for my work (office apps, documents, internet, and light gaming) and I love how silent it is with no fan. The writing experience with the Surface Pen (which I had to purchase separately) is divine. Almost enough give up pen and paper. The keyboard cover works and has a decent layout. Traveling with it though is great because of the power to size ratio. It's a full-on computer that's just a little bigger than an iPad. So if you need to consider size and weight while still retaining a full powered computer, this is an awesome option.
Now the marginal to bad - fingerprints (or really any smudges) on the screen; there is no way to keep this thing clean. It always looks disgusting. And for all the discussion about using is as a laptop - you can, but not for really long sessions (the kickstand digs it your legs) and not flexibly - you can sit in one or two positions and make it work, but outside that, it's not a laptop. It is definitely a tablet first, laptop (far distant) second. The Surface Pen feels wonderful, but the application support is mostly lacking. It works great in OneNote except that OneNote sucks for what I need to do. I have found a few that work for me, but they work grudgingly.
In my applications, I'm not using it a ton as a laptop, but a set-on-table-top for most things, but I do miss the ease of use of a simple laptop clamshell design at times.

I have a Surface 3.5 for work, and I love the size. The Surface 4 is even better. It still has the same size/footprint. The speed is even faster. Only issue users might have is the keyboard. It is a flexible/soft keyboard. Some users will not notice, but if you are a pounder on the keyboard, you will hate it.

Its a very nice Windows tablet that does everything I need including Dreamweaver and light photoshop. The keyboard that is comes with is sooo nice! It types better than any surface Pro keyboard Ive used. I cant believe this was only $600 with backlit alacantera keyboard! Deal of the year for sure!

After reading many reviews, I purchased this laptop on Black Friday. This was a special bundle so it came with the keyboard as well. I love it! It's compact so it fits in my tote with ease. I love that I can simply detach the keyboard and use it as a tablet when ever I need to. Very happy with my purchase!

I have purchased 6 pros in the last couple mos for my sales team and everyone loves them. I like sleek design, light weight, but powerful machine. The versatility is great, too. I treat it more like a laptop than a tablet. Bluetooth casting to TV is very functional. Get the Surface mouse, it's great.
