I replaced an old tablet and my slow laptop with the Surface Pro. I love that I can use it as a tablet as well as a small laptop and switch between the two quickly. I hook it up to a large monitor, keyboard and mouse and use it as a desktop for large projects. It is much faster than my old full size laptop.

Nice computer for traveling

The small screen size and smaller keypad just don't provide enough space to work all day.

My old venue tablet gave up the ghost a long time ago, and I recently started having issues with my XPS laptop. I really wanted a true 2-in-1 solution and always wanted a Surface Pro to see the true potential of Windows 10 envisioned by MicroSoft. I pre-ordered the 1TB edition, along with the keypad, pen, and arc mouse. And I'm blown away with this setup. It's fast, beautiful, and quite! I can barely hear the fan running when it does. The Arc Mouse is cute, and I love how it flexes, and turns on and off. The pen is very responsive--it picks up hand writing very well. The keyboard is a great cover to protect the screen, and gives and great back-lighted experience. I'm just not use to the compressed foot-print. The screen on this is incredible, very pleasing -- it's not 4k but that's ok, it's not a very large screen. I've only had this for a day, but the activation was flawless and didn't require too many updates. Pros Beauty...it's sleek and sexy Weight - easy to carry and weigh's less than two pounds with keyboard and pen attached. Easy to setup even quickly linked into my office 360 account. Very fast and snappy on boot-up and loading app's and programs. 16gb and 1tb of storage with a micro-sd slot, usb , and bluetooth. Detects keypad and automatically changes from tablet to desktop mode as needed. 10 point multi-touch screen and touch-pad with the keypad attached. Fast and responsive camera for window's hello. Quick to change from tablet mode to desktop mode. Cons Price - this is very expensive, entire set up was over 2600. Window's home - Really MS? You couldn't splurge for Pro?!?! The excellent keypad was additional?!? Price I mean really, I could build a decent desktop for this price. No USB-C Funky power cord adapter. Only Platinum available for the 1TB edition. Over all, I love it so far. This is a great work/personal 2-in-1 device. Light weight and versatile. But I don't know if I'd recommend this as an upgrade for an existing Surface Pro user. I wanted a 2-in-1 and this was a great choice since I didn't have one. But if I did, I'd be lack lustered. It's just not that big of an upgrade from the previous Pro. I really wanted the black eddition, but I am ok with Platinum. It pairs well with the black keypad, pen, and mouse. Just would have been much nicer if the tablet was black also.
