    Surface Studio is Awesome!

Started out looking for a nice desktop to replace the one I had. I came across this and was in awe. I have loved it since opening the box. I use Adobe CC and the speed this thing loads and saves is amazing. The face recognition feature for login is pretty nice as well. I bought this because I had been looking for a better way to draw in photoshop and illustrator. I am not a fan of the Intuos art pad. It's tough to learn new hand-eye when working with those. This doesn't require retraining nor does it disappoint. The pen is just like drawing in a sketchbook, with far less mess and more tools at the ready. I didn't purchase the dial and may now be regretting that. The things I could have an easier time with I believe that would help. Get this thing, it's worth it!

Better than the iMac 27 Retina

I sold my iMac recently because of compatibility problems with Mac OS, and it was slow running Windows 10 using Parallels 11. I like the 3:2 screen configuration, and while I don't quite know the resolution of the screen it looks pretty clear and there is non of the pixelation you see with cheap 1080 monitors! The base has a fan, and while I hear it running even from startup, it is tolerable. Maybe someday manufacturers can find a way to keep compact computers running cool without fans. But considering this baby sports an i7 processor and a Nividia 965M graphics chip, it's a decent trade-off. The obvious difference from the iMac is the Surface's PixelSense technology. It does so much more than most of the cheap 10-point touch screens out there: everything from drawing to painting to signing and annotating documents in Word, PDF or websites - it comes pretty close to writing on a sheet of paper. Plan to use it with my 6 & 4 year boys, teaching them art, writing, and math... and a few games too! I got the i7 / 16 GB configuration because it'll hold its value 3 years from now when I look to buy a new computer, I'm pretty sure I can fetch at least $2K for it even then. In sum, you can get an i7 / 16 GB / 1 TB HD's just about anywhere. But this screen.... there no peer out there right now. It's a thing of beauty! Don't mind forking over the $3500 for it! Microsoft is really stepping up with its hardware and software these days.

Gorgeous screen, but lacking in power

I am a dual platform user and needed a new PC. Decided to drop the big bucks for this with an adjustable angle, expansive screen with a 1TB SSD and 16 GB RAM. I wanted to simply be able to do some email with Dragon NaturallySpeaking, a small math app, and a browser to work on my genealogy. This was my first full immersion in Windows 10. I have been very disappointed in Edge as a browser. Even before installing DNS, it was freezing up with only 5 tabs open. Chrome has been better, but not perfect, so I began to suspect bloatware. Indeed, the task manager showed 95 background processes running! I have never been able to successfully run DNS on it. I debated about returning it and upgrading to the high-end model but repacking this puppy was impossible and my local BestBuy was not willing to have me carry it in out of the box for return or exchange. I could be using a machine at half the cost for what I can run on it, but at least the beauty of the screen and adjustable position makes its limited function easy to work with.

Microsoft Studio I-7 16GB- When I saw this computer in the store I was blown away! The screen resolution is beyond amazing! The performance is very fast. I’m very happy with the computer and have purchased three for our office. Best computer I’ve seen in awhile. We were using the DELL XPS’s but since they added the tacky subwoofers on the front they really don’t look professional for an office environment. The price is a bit expensive but well worth it. Beware of PC envy, everyone in the office wants one now.

    Creativity Simplified

Short of purchasing a premium desktop and a WACOM monitor (which would cost you a lot more and take up a lot more space) this is the best product out there for the creative members of the family, or for a small business. My wife does a significant amount of photo work (hundreds of images a month) and uses Adobe Photoshop CC and InDesign. With the mouse her work was always a little tedious, but being able to work directly on the screen with the pen simplified her work. It has enough cpu power and graphics power to do the job and do it right. There's no short cuts in this device like you have to make on laptops and iPads. Make no mistake you pay a premium for everything working right and everything doing what it should do right out of the box, but in the end the lack of frustration make it worth it.

That fact that the monitor tips down like a drafting table is great. All the new apps make it one of the best functional computers yet.

It is truly a thing to behold (except for Windows 10 operating system). The 28 in. screen is unbelievable. The tilt versatility is amazing. To go from PC to draw on flat is great. The stylus and dial take a bit of learning but it is fun. I primarily use it for Photography. The Surface Pro is helping me take my work to a new level. Storage and processing is more than adequate. Addicted!

A desktop that hugs your desk. Dial aside, the big feature that separates the Surface Studio from other all-in-one PCs is its zero-gravity hinge. ... When the Surface Studio is folded down to 20 degrees, you're at a great angle to work on the screen with the optional Surface Dial and the included Surface Pen accessory.
