This product goes great with the Surface 2 and is compact. Easy to use and a much needed accessory. Love the color!

Get the type cover close to the Surface - and it just clicks in place without having to do any alignment of slots/tabs, etc. The response feels good to me - and even though I have larger hands - the keyboard doesn't seem cramped. Lights are a nice plus - although don't know how much this affects battery life. I've only had the cover (purple) for a few weeks so not sure how well it will stay clean. The velour like finish is nice - so hope it cleans up easily (which so far I've avoided).

This keyboard is really great! Love the back light on the keys and its a really smooth typing experience. Its very slim. No difficult installation or programing required, simply attach it to your surface and you're good to go :) The way it magnetically connects is pretty awesome too! One bad thing about it though is that the soft texture makes it stain easily and makes it look dirty. Any advise on cleaning it would be much appreciated!! The price is also a little high for me. If it weren't for the pricing and it staining easily I'd give it 5 stars.

Easy to use. much easier than onscreen keyboard. Connects / disconnects easily. I like the light up keys. Took a bit to get used to some of the features. Overall good product, but seems expensive for what it is.

I have to say. This keyboard is one of the main reasons I chose to go for a Surface over any other Windows 8 tablet. It's just fantastic. It gives you the Smart cover that wakes/sleeps while giving screen protection. At the same time you get a fully functional keyboard that isn't affecting weight, battery, whatever. It's just seamlessly integrated. The hot keys are a fantastic addition and it's just incredible to have windows key combinations on a tablet!! For me the Type cover was absolutely worth the small increase from the Touch cover. The touch cover is great for being what it is and so incredibly thin. However, the Type cover isn't any thicker if not thinner than any other smart cover out there. Also, the magnetic *SNAP* is terribly satisfying. Being able to walk by and swing the Surface close to the Cover and it just snap into place without slowing is incredible. I've heard a lot of people complain about the touch pad, but I haven't had a single problem with it so I can't attest to that. One more point. I can be messy especially with my hands and I was worried having the blue it would get messy easily. I've had a few spots and somehow they just magically go away. The material is incredible and stays looking like new.

I really like the fact that you can personalize the keyboard with cool colors. I selected pink and coordinated it with a pink and black case. The keyboard is detachable and easy to reattach. I detach it when I read in bed and reattach it when I need to type. The size and weight are perfect. I can easily take it with me wherever I go. I use it when I take minutes at my homeowner's meetings. I am sooooo glad I don't have to lug that old lap top the meetings anymore.

Got this to go with my daughters Surface 2. The price of this thing is a little high, considering the keyboard that doesn't have actual keys is $45 less. But, she uses this for writing papers for college so I wanted something more like a traditional keyboard. The sales associate was very helpful at this location, they didn't have the Surface 2 tablets in stock but he told me where I could find one, and he was right. I made a special trip back to the Best Buy (30 minute drive), so I could buy the keyboard and accessories from him. The Surface 2 tablet is really well designed. The Windows 8 interface is slick and responsive. This keyboard just clicks into the tablet, and Boom, your in business. For the price though, you could probably just go with the keyboard that doesn't have the actual keys that click.

Pros: Fits Surface 2 as specified. Ask about bundle discounts if purchasing a cover or case in store too to get additional savings. Good thickness and fits in case well along with Surface 2. Love the darker purple color option instead of just black. Like the type style keys vs touch. Cons: Price - wish it were less expensive considering the cost of the Surface 2 already so check if there are bundle price options for accessories.

There are many keyboard out there that the Microsoft Surface can support but, there is no other keyboard that works better for this tablet than the one that was made for it.....in my opinion anyways. Yeah, its a small keyboard and many people who love to type on a standard size keyboard would have to get used to using it. However, the Type Cover 2 isn't about being comfortable. It is about the mobility that comes with using the Surface tablet and it gets the job done! When you need a keyboard right away just snap it on to the magnetic connectors and you are good to go. Start up Microsoft Office and and get busy typing. The touchpad mouse on the keyboard ist the greatest but you can make due. If not just use your finger or stylus on the touch screen. An external mouse is always optional. The Type Cover 2 also doubles as a cover for the Surface screen as well. It just folds over the same way as a laptop would which is great. So if you want some very great laptop like functionality with your tablet experience then the Type Cover 2 is highly recommended.

For a small keyboard I found it very comfortable to use and it didn't take too much adjustment. It was much easier to adapt to than the keyboard I had for my iPad but about the same size. Even without a number pad I'd buy it again and recommend it as an essential tool for the Surface.

Bought this along with the Surface Pro 2 for my wife to use at grad school. The keyboard has a very nice feel, the keys feel as good as any laptop keyboard. The touch pad works just a well. The Surface Pro 2 combined with this keyboard makes it a very capable laptop replacement that is much lighter and certainly more versatile, not to mention about a third of the cost. Can't imagine buying the Surface without this accessory...however it does come at a cost $$$!

this keyboard was easy to connect and, most importantly, is sturdy. I was worried about the keypad, but the tap of the keys translates to the page quite efficiently

it doubles as a protective cover for the screen when not in use, easy snap on and off, compact so it takes some getting used to and OMG it's PURPLE!!!!

I bought this to use for school and it works amazing. It folds up with my case and even serves as an extra layer of protection to my tablet. The keyboard is great because it's lifted and it lights up. I do not look down at the keyboard as I type and this one allows you to do that. The first surface keyboard you couldn't feel the keys so this one is great!!! Highly recommended!!!

I purchased this keyboard for my daughter to go along with her new Surface 2 which I gave her for Christmas. She was excited to hear that the keyboard also works as a cover to help protect her new Surface. The only thing is she didn't like the color and I wish Microsoft had more color choices. But she is going to return the purple one to get one of the other colors once our local store gets more in. Right now they are pretty much sold out because of the holidays. I like the fact that the keyboard is backlit and that the mouse pad is very good.

This keyboard is easy to use and small enough to carry all the time. It is convenient to attach or leave off and use the touch screen.

Love this keyboard, as it is easy to use, protects my Surface screen, and has backlighting. It's a little uncomfortable to use when placed on my lap, but on a table or other hard surface it's great.

I think this keyboard will improve my child's typing skills dramatically! just snap and go. Real size keyboard, get feedback with each button push, including clicking. Extremely easy to snap on and take off of Microsoft Surface RT tablet. Love the color. This magenta is like a dark pink, preferred over the too-dark purple keyboard.

This keyboard is an excellent companion to the Surface. It's a must have. The keys are easy to type on, but may take a little getting used to. They are nicely spaced and the back light is very useful in the dark. It also provides protection while it's closed and can be rotated backwards to provide a base while watching movies. The TouchPad is a little small but works well enough when the touchscreen isn't precise enough. Overall a very well made and excellent accessory.
