Customers recognize the Xbox One S 2TB Console's superior 4K streaming and picture quality as significant highlights, praising its smaller size and improved design. The console's ample storage and inclusion of a 4K Blu-ray player are also frequently cited as positive aspects. While some find the price point a bit high, the overall experience is largely viewed favorably.

I have an xbox one and wanted the new version for the 4k support primarily. I have an LG 4k HDR TV and wanted to use the S as a game machine and movie player.
As a player the system would stutter and skip while playing a disc.
Playing HDR content from Netflix when I closed out and would go back tot he home screen on Xbox the color and contrast would be messed up. Rebooting the system would fix the home page and games, but anytime I activated HDR streaming I would have to reboot the box when done.
It may be a good system once Microsoft throws out a few patches.
If you don't use HDR and just need an Xbox this will most likely be fine, but the older version would be cheaper.
I do not think this product is quite ready yet. Once it gets updated then it could be a solid gaming and video streaming machine.

Was a little disappointed that Microsoft chose not to include software decoding to allow Dolby Atmos feature which should be standard for all 4k BluRay DVD players.. As a Audiofile, this feature is important to me. Returned and purchased Samsung UHD 4k player.

I bought it for my son. He and my daughter seem to like it. But I'm not a gamer so i can't really say or see the difference between the wii or wii u and ps3 that I previously bought for my kids

I was hoping to use this as my primary 4K blu-ray player but it is limited, with not supporting the latest audio play back ability. No true bit-streaming, no Atmos...etc.
Back to my XB1 and bought a stand alone 4K player.

I returned a Samsung 4K UHD player and swapped it out the Xbox One S.
Make no mistake this is not a system to replace your regular Xbox One console if you have a 1080 P TV. Unless you really need a smaller slimmer console.. If you have a 4K TV and one that is a 10 bit display capable of HDR 10 then its worth considering, especially for the 4K UHD Blu-ray drive built in. With the 500 GB coming out at $299, It will make it the cheapest 4K UHD player on the market and a great gaming console as well. It has a bit faster GPU and increased Bandwidth with the ESRAM as well. The Power-supply is now built in . It's a bit smaller overall than my PS4. The new controller is slightly improved and has Bluetooth capabilities. I'd like to point out unlike the last reviewer, I had no issues using my rechargeable battery pack. The controller is same as the other Xbox one controllers, so no worries there. With the new summer update the system is as good as its ever been. I would recommend this to anyone who has a 4K TV.

I'm very happy with this, although some may not be able to justify an upgrade with the newer model coming out in a year....
The console is a little faster than the original xbox one. The graphics are a bit better but not ground breaking unless you also have a 4k TV. The smaller size, ability to orient vertically and the new massive internal hard-drive are the main reasons I bought this. The power block is now inside the console as well which is great. This new model does not turn on as easily as the old one, which is awesome and the increased range for the controller is great. Textured grips are nice too.
Two minor complaints. The power cord to the xbox is way too short in my opinion. Half of what it should be. Also, some of the buttons are too sensitive on the controller (the left and right bumpers).
Conclusion: If you have $300-$400 laying around, it's well worth it. The improvements overall are a nice upgrade to the original one and replaces everything we hated. However, do not purchase if you're expecting anything ground breaking. Performance wise, it's not much different from the first xbox one. If you don't plan on getting a 4k TV then you may want to just hold onto your xbox and skip this purchase.

It's a great system no doubt but it requires too many things in order to function to its full potential.
