Customers have good things to say about the Xbox One S 500GB console's 4K capabilities, graphics, and ease of use. Many appreciate its slim size and the inclusion of an extra controller, along with the picture quality and overall performance. However, some users express concerns regarding the limited storage space and the battery life of the controllers. The relatively small hard drive capacity is a recurring negative comment.

Great as a 4K player

I am not much of a gamer, but I wanted a high quality 4K player for my 4K TV. I have found over the decade that most DVD or Blue Ray players are threw sways, after a couple of years they quit working or freeze the screen. I think because the gaming systems are made for child and teen abuse, they are much more durable and I have not had one fail yet as a media player. If my Samsung DVD player freezes on a scratched up disc, I can put the same disc into the Xbox or PS3 and it will play right threw the scratchs. I Can't say enough about the quality of the Xbox one S as a 4K player when teamed up with my Samsung 4K TV.

Better streamlined design, controller is amazing - now includes a headphone jack so you can plug your favorite headphones directly into controller, like the white.

Love the fact it's more compact and easy to pack up and go. Also love that it features 4k, looks so much better now on my 4k TV. Xbox did perfect making the slim version.

By far and large the best Xbox to date. The UI is extremely easy to navigate, it's very fast, and the system itself is very easy to integrate into a home theater setting.

I purchased this after owning a PS4 and I have to say I prefer playing on the Xbox One. The controller feels so much better and xbox user interface is much more engaging. I only wish the controllers came with rechargeable batteries since regular batteries last about 2 weeks after heavy use.

The One S system is a sleek well designed machine that produces a great picture along with several added features. The battlefield game makes this bundle well worth it.

Picked this up on special with a game (Battlefield), extra controller, and 3 months of Xbox live for 249.99. What else more could I ask for so I picked up 2. One for each major TV and both being 4k it just made sense. Decent console. Also make sure you buy a battery pack for the controller. No need to get the super expensive one just get the best buy Brand for 8 bucks. Uses Micro USB to charge and I'm sure 90% of people have one of those floating around the house. I'm a PS4 person but I do like the change of pace in gameplay and FORZA :). Had to buy that as well Lots of fun with that game.

Excellent upgrade from original XB1

I picked up an XB1S mainly for the Forza series. I have waited for so long for PS to release a quality racing game that I gave up after they delayed GT yet again. I am happy with having both the XB1S & PS4, as they both fit different needs and gaming styles. I use my PS4 Slim for bluray (we use a 1080p projector, so no need for 4K), and FPS's, then the XB1S for racing games. It may be silly to have both, as there are only a few exclusives on each side, but having both allows you to play anything you like. After being burned for a few PS racing games, I think the XB1S was worth it's $249 price.

Smaller & lighter than original Xbox One console. Also can stream and play some 4K HDR content. If you haven’t purchased a console yet and own a 4K tv, this is the console to get. If you have a 4K HDR tv, then get this or the new Xbox One X coming soon.

I had the old Xbox one and then got this one, it's a lot smaller and the white makes it look really good on my tv stand. Also it's 4K and still does blu-ray 3D.

Beautiful Sleek white look, and beautiful controller. Along with Battlefield it just doesn't get any better than this? Why would you not indulge in such value?

Great for 1080p Gaming & UHD 4K Entertainment

I've always wanted to give Xbox a try, but I didn't want to invest a lot of money in doing so. I don't own a UHD 4K television, but I have a 1080p Samsung HDTV. Simply put, if you don't own a 4K television and are looking for an inexpensive way to play games, the Xbox One S is for you. And if you decide to purchase a UHD 4K television down the road, the Xbox One S has built-in upscaling to 4K resolution, albeit not native 4K. If you're really looking for native 4K gaming, then wait for the release of the Xbox One X or invest in a 4K gaming capable PC.
What distinguishes this iteration of the Xbox One family from its predecessor is the ability to play UHD Blu-Ray discs and stream 4K content from services like Netflix, something that my PS4 Slim doesn't have the capabilities to do.
Overall, it's a great complement to the other gaming systems I already own, and I'm looking forward to exclusive content and games down the road.

I upgraded my Xbox one Day One Edition to the Xbox One S for the 4K and HDR benefits, and I'm really glad I did! I was always satisfied with my original Xbox One, but the improvements for video are awesome on this new One. With the trade in I got and the sale price during the holidays, the upgrade wasn't to bad either. If you didn't know, the Kinect doesn't directly connect the new Xbox One S, it will require an adapter. The adapter is $39.95, or for a undisclosed time you can get one free from Microsoft Support online if you are upgrading a Xbox One and already own a Kinect.

So much better than the original Xbox, this new one is so much quieter and smaller. Plus I love the white finish as well. 4k movies look great on it too!
