Posted .The average range of the X-Talkers are 1/2-1 mile in normal environments. If your walkies are not reaching these ranges or you are not satisfied with their performance contact support@midlandusa.com to discuss what radios might be a better fit. The extreme ranges for the walkies will be reached in optimal conditions such as mountain top to mountain top or over water, which is stated on the box. The other other ranges are illustrated on the packaging as well.

Small range maximum 1 mile

Posted .Obstruction plays a big role with these radios if you cannot see a line of sight and there is an obstruction in the way then the range will decrease.

Posted .Hello! We are sorry to hear you were not satisfied with your experience. We do recommend charging the battery for 24 hours for the first charge and then 12 hours for each charge moving forward.

Okay for basics

Wouldn't want to rely on them for anything important. Takes a really long time to charge the rechargeable pack. Uses up power quickly when active.

Please be advised that they would be considered as being illegal to use outside USA/Canada as they may interfere with businesses and/or police as assignment of radio freq's differ in different countries. If travelling outside the USA best to leave them home. Under most normal conditions and in reality may get upto 2 miles and sometimes much less. More powerful radios need to get a FCC License

He hasn't even received the gift yet so can't speak for how well the product works but can say the description is pretty deceiving and am actually a little embarrassed to give him the gift. The description is 3 pack which I guess "technically" it is but they are not packaged together. It's actually a 2 pack with the third just thrown randomly loose in the box completely unpackaged. Looks like we just had an extra so threw it in with the others. Hopefully they work amazing but def not impressed with how the product was presented or packaged.

They worked only at close range(less than 1 mile). About a week later charged them up as we had to go to DMV & register 2 cars. Even though they showed that they were charged fully , we only got 5 to 10 minutes of use. So basically these do not have anywhere near 28 mil range , & now they do not even hold a charge. Not even 2 months old & already garbage. Very much regret my purchase. I would not recommend these at all.

The range advertised is for mountain top to mountain top range with no obstructions. Please contact support@midlandradio.com for a replacement battery pack.

Ended up replacing the rechargeable batteries with deposable batteries and they work great

Posted .I would be happy to help you with rechargeable batteries , since you are unsatisfied. Rechargeable batteries should last 5-6 hours when fully charged and light usage during the day. If you are using your walkies consistently throughout the day the charge may be closer to 4 hours. Please reach to support@midlandusa.com
Bad battery, worse customer service.
