These were great little, easy-to-use, compact walkie talkies. I loved everything about them and was excited to take them along on a trip to the lake. We clipped them onto the shoulder of our life vests and unfortunately, my partner fell off her paddleboard. This was pretty shallow water and she was able to immediately pop back up onto her board, making sure the device wasn't submerged in water that long... maybe 15 seconds from start to finish, max. I immediately attempted to contact her from my device, and hers was inoperable. It's 3 days later and it still doesn't work. I'll be contacting the manufacturer and hope I can get a replacement with a product that's actually waterproof.

    28 Miles is a Stretch

I live in a two story house with a full basement that contains a studio where I spend a good deal of time. My wife has some medical issues and I purchased the 2-way radios so that she could reach me when she is on the second floor and I am in the studio working. For that purpose, all is good. I thought the 28 mile distance would allow me the freedom to leave the house and make short trips with my wife still being able to reach me by simply pushing a button. On my first outing, less than a mile from the house, we were no longer able to communicate. 28 miles seems to be nothing more than a fantasy. Communication outside the house remains a phone call and not the push of a button away.

Battery life is less than 8 hours. Clear communication and easy to use. Needs to be charged within 6 to 8 hours. I use it to keep in contact with my elderly mother in case of emergency while working outside or bedside at night.

This were crisp and clean in close proximity. I tried to use them with Midland headsets for my wedding and they would not communicate. Regardless of the settings one would not actually pick up what was being said into them.

I would not purchase it again because of the outside interference from strangers using the same network. The battery doesn't hold a charge very long either.

This is a good average product. The 28-mile range is more like 800 feet max. If you are in between that range, they work perfectly fine. Volume is ok, wish it could be louder. But material quality is very good and durable. Battery lasted several days and the charger is easy and convenient.

They’re ok. Just your regular run-of-the-mill walkie talkies. Good for road trips, car to car communication. Don’t think your going to get the range they’re saying in mountainous terrain.

Bought two sets for a beach trip caravan of cars. Some walkie talkies worked well others not so much. Interference or volume issues. Never more than 1 mile apart on open terrain.

They work fine, but the units stopped sitting correctly in the charger after only several weeks. Changing channels and volume are not at all intuitive.

One of the battery packs doesn’t keep charge after charging time. It dies very fast. Have to use aaa batteries for one of them. Sucks to have 1 one way and the other with battery pack. Will have to go to batteries plus and get a new pack. Hope that will work then.

I bought these for my 2018 christmas vacation aboard Royal Caribbean’s Freedom of the Seas. They work perfect from stateroom to stateroom if you’re on the same deck, but once you start going on diferent floors, you get a lot of interference and, sometimes, you can’t get through at all.

Good for short range but had little to no reception within a mile. Not sure how it would work in open areas, but doesnt work well when houses or buildings are around.

I bought this for my grandson for his birthday. He and his sister have had fun using it and it is easy to control. One problem is caution for children other people have been on their same channels and that needs to be monitored.

In a apartment complex I tried to speak to someone on the third floor from ground floor and the connection was lost. Even down the hallway the connection was lost. In a line of sight, and close to their window I could get a signal other than that it was useless. The only reason I did not return them was the hopes that it will be useful someday and will traveling I've picked up frequencies from people with strong radios , so that was interesting. A few radio hobbies broadcast ,so I figured I'd keep it. I would only buy this if it was on sale I paid $50 as of 2021 so aim for a cheaper price.

I like the compact size but these radios do not include DCS programing reducing the channel options. This is not indicated in the description of the radio.
