This version of Mimic was Del Toro's attempt to reclaim his film after the studio didn't give him final cut. While this may be an improvement over previous versions, it doesn't save Mimic from being an extremely weak entry in Del Toro's resume. Unless you are obsessed with everything that Del Toro has made, skip this and watch one of his superior films like Cronos, Devil's Backbone, Shape of Water, or Pan's Labyrinth.

When I first saw this after it came out, I had no idea who Guillermo Del Toro was, but I could tell that the director knew what they were doing. Although the plot is a little silly, the direction is handled masterfully, making for an entertaining and sometimes frightening experience. The bluray transfer really brings out the beauty in some of the shots.

One of those wonderful films that is somewhat forgotten. This bluray edition is splendid. While the director's cut component is not as extensive as other releases like Hellboy, the image and sound are absolutely fantastic, and if you are a fan of the film it makes this worth the cost.

Mimic is a great & creepy giant bug flick starring the great Mira Sorvino as well as a great all star & supporting cast!!

I don't recall Mimic being all that great when I first saw it, but I did enjoy this new director's cut.

If you are a fan of science fiction thrillers such as Relic, you will find this movie very satisfying. It is superbly shot as an urban thriller, and expertly written. I thoroughly enjoyed this movie for its edgy suspenseful plot, excellent acting, and action scenes.

Mimic Staring The Voluptuous Mira Sorvino is a horrifying Thriller that will keep you jumping until the Very end. I'm not a big fan of Horror movies but this is one of the Exceptions. I think that this Horror movie is put together very well.

The "Mimic" director's cut attempts to recover as much of Del Toro's original vision for the film as is now possible. Although it remains a flawed film (Del Toro's weakest), it also showcases many of the director's signature stylistic and thematic motifs which does make it not only watchable but re-watchable. The special features, including commentary by Del Toro, makes this disc even better!

this is good old fashioned monster movie horror. great plot lots of action and fun to watch
