This accessories capability with speeds up to 1 GB per second, makes it the hardwire solution the Surface 3 needs to transfer large data files.

I didn't want to invest in the docking bar, as I don't think I'll get much use out of it. Instead, I invested in the USB ethernet adapter and just toss it into my bag so I have it when I need it.

This adapter is pricey for a USB Ethernet adapter, but it is reliably compatible with the Surface Pro, and the attached cable is more Surface-friendly than a USB dongle plugged in directly (though you can use a separate pigtail, of course). For the price, its nice.

Hotels haven't caught up to the Tablet technology yet. When I needed to plug in my Surface pro for a presentation, this worked like a charm.

Some times, it is faster to hook directly into a hotel's wired internet, when available. Most hotel wifis are very slow and intermittent. This is an easy way to connect through ethernet wire - and it's plug n play.

I purchased this device so that I can plug my Surface computer into a network cable when Wi-Fi wasn't available. It works perfectly, I get gigabit speed, and I am very happy with it. I recommend it to all who need a network cable plug.

Nothing special about this, in fact I probably could have saved $20 by getting an Insignia or other model that would do the same thing. I mean, it's a USB to Ethernet adapter...

This device that I actually purchased was a USB-to-Ethernet adapter for my Surface Pro, which enables me to connect my Surface Pro directly to an Ethernet port (instead of using wifi) to access the Internet. This adapter is very portable and is ideal for taking on trips and using in hotel rooms where an Ethernet port is available. A separate Ethernet cable is needed to connect from the adapter to an Ethernet port.

It's a simple device and truly plug-n-play with no problem at all using Surface Pro 3. A bit pricy though - I guess you are paying extra $ to have the Microsoft logo printed on the device.
