This game I was expecting a great story from considering its predecessor, but it disappointed completely. I recommend it for the current price being offered, but if you had to chose, I wouldn’t buy this.

Very fast game, you keep moving and jumping and melee fighting. But not a lot of outside exploration and side quests. Also very short, but the graphics are good. Worth it at the deal price.

Mirrors Edge Catalyst is a great free-running/movement adventure game. The open world wasn't the best choice for how the game is set up, but the story is good and the game-play is fun.

The story is interesting. The world is fun to run around it. The combat is pretty cool too. I would recommend this to people looking for a different kind of first person game.

Very cool but very short. Open world is great and there are a lot of things to do but unless you are a huge fan of parkour or the series, I wouldn't spend $60 on this game.

Mirror's Edge Catalyst is exactly what I hoped for, and more. They've taken Mirror's Edge and solved its every flaw, while also adding many of the things that fans wished for. The open world is gorgeous and incredibly fun to run around in, the story is exciting and touching and the characters feel much more alive.

This is a premier use of the new consoles' engines. The first-person parkour is smooth, intuitive, and the story is intriguing. The chase scenes are intense, and are like puzzles in and of themselves. Even if you never played the first one, you won't skip a beat, but is still rewarding for those who have.

This game took the original Mirror's Edge gameplay to a whole new level. I was a bit confused at first since the story line from the first game appears not to have happened at all in this game, but you catch on to that pretty early. It's an open world now so you can easily go exploring. Super fun!

An amazing parkour experience. Mirrors edge: catalyst captures the feeling that platforming needs. Whereas in the Assassins creed series, the platforming feels robotic and drab, this game makes it feel smooth natural and it feels like that. The visuals are gorgeous as well. The reason I'd give it 4 stars is because it's lacking in content. Side note: the companion app is awful. Dont bother wasting your time. I put side not, because this is for the companion app and does not affect the rating of the game.

I knew I would enjoy the game off the jump, because I left my Best Buy with the product in my hand; there was no waiting for additional copies to supply their inventory. A victory at the store. And now a victory at home. Game was excellent. Great price for a great game...

The game is very fun to play, the controls and visuals are the same as the original Mirror's Edge, but the graphics are better since it's a new generation console. No big complaints, but the 'open world' objectives and ability upgrade system may turn some people off to this game if they were fans of the original's more linear approach. No big faults with Catalyst, and it's fun to play, but I would have preferred a more streamlined approach. Worth the purchase.

There are a number of missions to complete and the game will not allow you to free roam too much while on a mission but you can explore the vast and beautiful city of Glass between missions to acquire more hidden items and complete tasks for those of need for a runner. The controls are very similar to "Dying Light" and do take a bit of practice but become second nature when running, jumping, wall-running, using a zip line, sliding, etc. The fighting is limited to 2 variations of punches and kicks in combination with the wall jumping and running to enhance their effectiveness. The fighting component is the weakest part of the game but isn't too bad since running away is better than tangling with armed adversaries unless required to complete the mission. The combat, movements and gear can be upgraded as you progress throughout the game and are purchased after getting points for completing missions and locating hidden items. This game is an acquired taste but can be very addictive once you catch on to the controls and premise of the game. You can also compete with other runners online in different time trials. The city is huge and fairly active with planes, monorail trains and vehicles in the streets below. There are not that many citizens in the city which was intended so as not to get in the way of your running. The security force that is pursuing you is very aggressive and they are armed. This is one of the few games that does not have the player using weapons. The language in the game is mild compared to many games today. I summary, I find myself playing this game for a couple of hours at a time just to explore the city and take in the sights. Hopefully, there will be a sequel to this sleeper hit. Have Fun!

I'm a huge fan of the original Mirror's Edge, so I've been looking forward to this sequel for a long time and it does not disappoint. Graphics, story, combat, and controls are all top notch. Add in the parkour elements and you have one of the top games of 2016.

As someone who enjoyed the original Mirror's Edge, much of the gameplay elements that made that game unique remain enjoyable in Catalyst. It is just plain fun to tear through the futuristic setting and defy gravity. The downside is that the mission content is a bit thin and sometimes nonsensical (ie this flower needs to be delivered in less than 45 seconds or else), but that does not detract too much from the fun and originality of the game.

Pros: improved graphics, good level design within the story setting, no gun play, good soundtrack, precise controls Neutral: repetitive side quests, open world Cons: generic characters and bland story, excessive backtracking and forced combat makes you want to use fast travel in a parkour game, skill tree locked moves, dead world lacking personality

This game looks great and has a style of gameplay that is worthy of better game design. I played through the entire campaign and had several breath-taking moments but also found myself frustrated by the hand-holding of the default runner-vision (I recommend turning this off) and the poor handling of wayfinding that had once made the first game so strong. The combat had no appeal or hook to me and felt as if I was breaking the game to win the fights. If you loved the first one I recommend playing through this one if you can get a good price for nostalgia-sake but be prepared to have issue with the direction EA went on this one. Still looks beautiful though and provides a unique futuristic parkour first person experience that cannot be found anywhere else!

A bit difficult to execute moves, don't know if it's the game or if I'm just terrible at game parkour. I fell in love with the white world of the original which is why I decided to buy this game so the new color scheme was a let down. Not an improvement to the original in my opinion. Still a good game if ur not constantly comparing it to the original awesomeness. Which is sadly impossible for me.

Excellent and fun game! I loved this first one and I had to get this one. I would recommend if you have a PS3/Xbox 360 to play the first one to see if you like the style of gameplay (it is very different) before you play this one. If you've already played the first one and liked it, buy this (minor differences, such as no guns). If you didn't like the first one, stay away.

As a disclaimer, I was huge fan of the original Mirror's Edge from the Xbox 360/PS3 generation, so I'm a bit biased, I'm sure. ME: Catalyst is a reboot of the series and tells the story of Faith, a Runner. The Runners essentially engage in espionage against the evil conglomerates, which are all-powerful multi-national corporations. As Faith, momentum is the name of the game. You'll run, jump, dive, roll, swing, slide, and climb throughout the city to complete goals and avoid security. You'll also combine that movement with hand to hand martial arts to take down enemies. The major change from the original is the inclusion of an open world. You can find characters, story missions, side missions, races, and hidden collectables throughout the world. I, frankly, could take or leave the open world. I don't think it adds much, as the story missions and side missions are by far the most interesting and well-designed parts of the game for me. I started playing every diversion, but got bored less than halfway through the game, and then focused purely on the extremely fun story missions. So I don't hate the open world. I could just take it or leave it. Otherwise, I very much enjoyed playing a first person game that doesn't involve shooting guns for a change and focused instead on platforming and momentum-focused hand-to-hand combat.
