I have a gray one. The specs are impressive (comparing to chromebooks, slightly above average comparing to other Windows laptops). Screen is gorgeous, performance is top notch, and the included pen is a delight to use.

Cutting Edge Chrome Book - Bad Battery Life

Initial impression is mixed. Very best in looks, speed, and display in Chrome Books at this time. All that is severely compromised by exceptionally bad battery life.
If you are not planning on using this device unplugged for any length of time and don't mind paying top dollar, you might be ok with this machine.

Premium laptop hardware and build from Samsung. Keyboard, track pad and screen rival any manufacturer’s setup out there. OS performance is unbelievably fast. From sleep to browser/app is literally as fast and you can raise lid and place finger on reader and this thing is ready to rip. Red color is gorgeous. Android & Linux app support is really good but can and will mature. Battery reviews are over blown. Easily 6-7 hours of my use on this thing with 20% battery remaining. Use dark mode everywhere possible and manage this incredibly bright OLED screen and the typical chromebook user can easily get 8 hours out of battery. Samsung’s flagship chromebook has easily replaced my MBA.

Great Chromebook. Instant response, has never bogged down, even with 20+ tabs open in Chrome and 4-5 Android Apps running. Stylus is built-in and super handy, even just for screen grabs and annotations. The 4K screen is great. If it seems like overkill, one thing to note is you can have multiple windows open in each corner and each still gets its own 1080p equivalent "screen". It's also small and light like a tablet, has decent (~5hrs at a time for me) battery life, and the keyboard is one of the best i've ever typed on.

Okay, everyone goes on about the poor battery life but I get a good five hours out of it before I need to find an outlet. To be honest, I'm just never that far from an outlet for that long so battery life isn't that big of a deal for me.
There are 110v outlets on planes and all over airports these days. I've got outlets at the office and at home so what's the big deal with less than ideal battery life?
This little chromebook has incredible build quality. The keyboard is backlit and has excellent feel. The design and color catches everyone's attention. It comes with an S pen and has a drop-dead gorgeous 4k oled screen and it doubles as a touch screen android tablet if you flip the screen back 180 degrees. Last but not least, it has an Intel i5 and 8gb of ram.
Best Buy has this thing on sale fairly often for $600.00 or less and when you compare the features of this chromebook to the features and price of a Samsung S8+ or ultra this thing is a no-brainer.
This chromebook has been one of the best purchases I've ever made and I would buy it again in a heartbeat.

It works great, battery last, the laptop itself weighs close to nothing, and the screen images are awesome, super fast as well.

Beautiful 4k monitor. I get compliments on high quality photos, videos played back on this monitor. Had to return once for a battery replacement. Auto on with the screen lift quit. Bad switch in the movable hinge for the auto on on open and caused the battery to stop charging correctly. Free replacement by Geeks within 4 months of original purchase.
Links with my PlusOne phone via USB or wireless for hotspot internet from cell provider. Unlock the phone to signin instead of typing password and then finger print will open when comp sleeps, every 15 minutes without use.
Runs Android Studio for app creators and BLENDER for 3d Animators.
One issue is sound with this Chromebook. Using Bluetooth to connect to my stereo system, sound will begin to stutter and pause after about 30 minutes of play. Happens with aux cord too, after several hours of music, stuttering and a shutdown is the only cure.

The display is gorgeous as is the overall design. Quality at every corner of the build. The specs will ensure many years without feeling dated. The known trade off is a shorter battery life than most Chromebooks. I can overlook this as the rest of the package is excellent. If battery life is of top priority you may want to consider another model.

I got this in fiesta red and was excited. It is beautiful! It's light and fast. BUT. It runs hot, battery drains really fast and takes a quite a while to charge. I bought this mainly to take notes and wanted the 2 in 1 experience. As I was writing with the stylus, I was happy that it does have palm rejection as long as the stylus is close enough BUT I noticed some lagging when writing, even when writing slow after a while. I don't know if the unit running hot correlates with the drag but it was disappointing and not worth $1000. This is not what you expect when you drop a grand: I was expecting amazing and left with my right nostril sneering, eyebrows furrowed and a giant hole where one thousand dollars should be. For the money I would defiantly look into something like the new dell. Should have read the reviews first.

This is a great computer. I had it for over a month, and it is very good. The quality on the finish is amazing, and the display and sound are top of the line. I gave it a four star, because the battery doesn't last as long as my Chromebook. Samsung should come up with a more powerful battery, and then will have a Ferrari to sell.

Battery and heat issues

What people are posting about the battery life and the device getting hot has been true so far.. highly suggest you buy the Anker 45w portable charger if you plan to be out without an available outlet. Also go in tablet mode to avoid the heat issues. I think if you minimize the heat, the battery life improves but that's just something I suspect at the moment

This is an amazing Chromebook. I've had all of the top line google Chromebooks (Most recently the PixelBook 2) and this blows them away. It is obvious that they worked closely with Google and this computer shows it. It's built very well, fast, a stunning screen, the list goes on. The only negative is the battery life. For a Chromebook, it's subpar. But with pushing a 4k screen, this is to be expected. Most folks will get 4 to 5 hours out of it. Do I recommend it, yes, to those who want the top of the line, but no for someone who just needs a Chromebook to get things done.

Before going in depth, this is how I use this chromebook for;
Browsing on websites such as amazon, ebay...etc
Stream netflix, amazon, hulu
Stream from USB-C Drive (needed usb adapter)
-I dont do games on this device. I definitely dont use it daily for work or school
The battery life is very short. I actually bought the Lenovo Duet a week later to see which one is better and well the Lenovo Duet was surprisingly heavier than this chromebook and wasnt ideal to stream on the Lenovo Duet.
I am a light user and thats why the battery does not bother me. I can do days without turning on the device so thats why the battery for me is not bad. The reason I like this above the others is the 4k screen (main reason battery is short). I used a usb adapter to plug my portable hard drive and watch movies which was excellent.
So browsing sites and watching movies is all you need than its a good contender.

Love the speed, size, display, and stylus-based input. Folks complain about battery life, but it's going to be a long time before I must worry about cross-country flights :-). By then, Samsung will have improved battery life.

The laptop is awesome. From the thin build and lightweight feel to the easy to use keyboard and touch screen, it’s a product worth the price. The computer has many features that allow for an ease of use. Great design, fast, and it looks amazing! Get it, you won’t regret it.

This chromebook is 90% perfect.
10% not perfect:
- battery, only about 3-4 hrs of real use (2%)
- warm to hot most of the time, not lap friendly, potential long term issues (8%)
I can deal the battery life but the heat issues is and could have big long term impact on the longevity of the hardware.
I'm still keeping mine so I would still recommend it.

The 4K AMOLED display is by far the best I've ever seen on any laptop, but severely burn through the battery at a rapid pace.
First day in I clocked in 4 1/2 of medium use before it died.
The build quality is amazing, and head turning for sure though, and I think it's well worth it. Just don't forget your charger!

Stunning screen and great specs but somehow, it just did not work for me. Went with a Full HD 15.6 inch Chromebook and haven't looked back. I wasn't wanting a tiny device I guess. Ran hot, felt dainty and just too expensive.

Would have been an excellent device if battery did not drain super fast and speakers are simply horrible. Otherwise display is gorgeous, form is beautiful and thin, gets hot but great for cold winter times. Definitely not worth $1k, so if you’re okay with charging it often and wearing headphones or using a Bluetooth speaker, then hands down best device ever.
