    Fun but pros and cons

I was excited to find this tracker as it is priced much better than most and other reviews rated it better than the higher priced shine. It is neat to see how often I wake in the night and motivational to track my activity. However, it is not without its flaws. First, the sleep tracker doesn't usually get it right...it generally thinks I'm in bed or sleeping (albeit not shown as deep sleep) much longer than I truly am and it won't track if you get up but go back to bed ( instead you get no credit for activity during that period). On the activity side, it uses. Point system that I don't quite get what they represent at all so setting goals is just a guess and I went with the recommended 1000. But it doesn't track anything as activity unless you physically tell it to or by some chance it senses a lot of movement. So, I've had very active days where I was up and down flights of stairs, climbing ladders, and generally running around like a nut but because I didn't tell it I was running or something, it tracked it like I was doing desk work or something. It also is limited on the activity it tracks...I do aerobics and weight training, generally p90x, but the only suitable choice is walking/running. And, I will generally have to stop my program to swap the watch from my wrist to my feet just to get an ok tracking for my fitness time. I also find it difficult to get it to turn on to track fitness...mine will start fine but seems to shut off Because of the warm up so it doesn't track my activity and then turns on again when I tell it to stop my activity which is frustrating. Luckily, if you're patient you can edit the time in order to get a better rating of your fitness activity. The catch is, and it's big, you must have an activity to edit in the first place as they can't be added and you must edit it timely because once the clock strikes twelve your done! Since I worked out a couple times at 11/11:30, this hurt me. I don't think it gives enough credit for the activity I do and I find myself wanting to turn it on as though I'm working out for just about anything so I will get credit for what I am doing. It is very difficult to reach the 1000 points which I don't get when I work out for an hour and a half to two hours and will be active through the day on top of that. The only way I've hit or surpassed it is to turn the fitness activity in anytime I'm expecting to be moving a bit so it will better count my steps, so it can be improved. But I know it will motivate me to move more still and guess that is the point. I find the social feature useless except comparing to my husband. And his tracking is different since I have an android and he has iPhone...it is better on one versus the other on some things then worse on others so both are have pros and cons I guess. Anyway, it is a nifty little toy to track your activity and help motivate you through your goals. Some app improvement would add a star or two but for the humps it does have I rate it in the middle...which is,likely great for the price.

As someone with a desk job, it is nice to know what sort of activity level I have been getting on a daily basis. The Misfit Flash itself is very simple. You press a button and can get an indicator as to how much you've been running around so far during the day, followed by the time (to the nearest five minutes). All data must be synced with your phone in order to see details, however, the level of detail is very shallow. The sleep tracking functionality is really neat thing to track as well.

The device itself is a small plastic disk. I can't decide if it looks cheap or it looks techno, but either way it works quite well. It does a good job tracking activity, measuring nighttime sleep, and telling you if you're moving enough during the day to meet your activity goals. It does it effectively and unobtrusively and more accurately than devices that cost much more. It also provides a basic watch functionality which is also nice. The app gives good information and seems to balance "points" well based on the nature of the activities it's tracking. If sleep tracking is important note the auto sleep detection doesn't seem to capture naps during the day but the tradeoff of automation is probably worth it for most people. It also support activity tagging, for people who care about such things and wish to monitor activity more precisely. Officially only the higher end "Shine" model works with Windows Phone, but I've paired the Flash with both Windows 8.1 and Android phones and it works fine with both. And of course, iOS is also supported. Basic tracking plus sleep and a watch, no smart watch functions, and it's not as fancy looking as the twice-as-expensive Shine model, but it works very well and is definitely worth a look at the price point.

Excellent & inexpensive. Automatically tracks sleep & activities. You can wear it swimming & it will track that too! I've really pushed it as I figured I could afford to replace it if it broke, but it hasn't. I swim with it constantly, wear it water skiing, in the lake, on the beach. The clip that I hook it to my swimsuit with holds great. You don't have to charge it & it tells you a week before the battery need replaced! Need one about every 6 months. Excellent customer service too!

I bought one of these on sale and the band broke on my first one the third day I had it, so I returned it and got another. The second one has been okay so far. I like being able to see how active I've been that day and how much restful sleep I've gotten. Just be careful with the band. I think it could be more durable, but for the price, it's not bad.

    Great Fitness Tracker

I purchased this in store. They price matched with Amazon ($25). I've been using it for 4 weeks now. I bought on for my wife and my brother in law. My wife had been using it for 3 weeks. This had been great for the price. Pro: Cheap Point system Different activity select capability Automated activity and sleep tracker Watch battery, no recharging needed (Batteries cost very little# Syncs with IOs great #iPhone 6# Cons: Plasticky #Well, for the price, what more can you expect?# Has a little leakage if you wear on your wrist, and simple movement sometimes counts as steps. So I take 10/15% as leakage on a daily basis# My research shows that most complaints from users are that they lost it #well, grow up#. They couldn't sync #Smart phones may not be for you#, the band broke #I've wearing it for 4 weeks, run, played soccer and very active. Band is still intact). I and my wife set a goal. We meet it every day. On a busy day, we accumulate lots of points, and don't need to do much extra. But on a slow day, we make sure we do something to make up the deficit. That’s how this tracker helps us with our fitness. I hope my review helps.
