This game is a cut above the others and the previous titles to the franchise. The graphics are better, the monsters are bigger, and the game is still plotless but that is easily overlooked. The game is still your slash and hack style game but boy does it never get old. The graphics are a lot sharper with even better weapons. This game is amazing, worth the buy.

Not easy to get into, it takes a while before you can really get to the core of the game so if you don't have patience this game isn't for you Once u cross the initial threshold there is so much to do in the game and with the addition of free monthly dlc there doesn't seem an end to the game at the moment. Very enjoyable and more so if you have friends to play with

Every Monster Hunter is an improvement on its previous iteration. Monster Hunter 4 is no exception. Fantastic gameplay results in hours of lost time hunting monsters all across the land. As it says in the caption...this game is simply a ton of fun to play. Another must own for the 3DS.

The controls my take some getting used to and the story so long it take it a while to get to some action. Besides these the graphics look great, and loving the free dlc a month.

I had played Monster Hunter 3 and enjoyed it. I was nervous that the series was becoming exclusive to the 3DS since I am not a mobile player normally. But, I had a new 3DS and this game is great on it. The new mechanics are intuitive and the gameplay is as fun as ever. If you are a fan of Monster Hunter, or if you are curious, this is a great game to play.

If you're looking for a deep gameplay experience to put your New 3DS XL through the paces, there's plenty to experience here. Highly recommended. Also, don't judge this game by its demo: there is so much more to it than just killing monsters. There's crafting weapons, armor and other gear that provides plenty of depth and reward to the hunting experience.

I wasn't a big fan of the wii version but this has me for some reason. I think it's the fact I can play it on the go. I would recommend buying a new 3ds because it makes it easier to move the camera but it can be done without the new c stick. I love the fights and love that you get new armor because of what you do and not the random drop in most games.

Monster Hunter is a great detailed fighting game in which you really need to pay attention and learn each monsters personalities, movements, and weaknesses. This is my second Monster Hunter game and it is best played with others. Not only is it more fun but makes gathering materials much quicker. I definitely will buy future Monster Hunter games!

Friend told me to get the game so we could play and I was skeptical about it at first since i have never in my life played a monster hunter. I brought it and wow what a game. The online is amazing and the game is not easy so it makes it fun. There is a lot of text through out the game but thats mostly to show you how to play. I highly recommend this!!!!

I have played Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate and with this new release of Monster Hunter 4, there are a lot of improvements. Although new hunters will probably take a while to get use to the games mechanics and learn each weapon's fighting style, but once that's taken care of, then you will have ultimate satisfaction for taking down monsters.

I'm currently playing this game on a 3DS XL (not to be confused with the (superior) NEW 3DS XL. It is a lot of fun. I have a friend to play with, but I'm also playing single player on the side. Both are fun and warrant a purchase of this game. Highly recommend if you like challenging, non-linear game play and/or if you love boss fights.

When it comes to the Monster Hunter series, I've always wanted to get into them, but there was just something about them that couldn't quite catch me. This new one though... wow! I can't put it down, all the new changes they incorporated seem to be what it was lacking for me. It plays smooth and looks beautiful on the 3DS.

MH4U is actually my first game in the Monster Hunter series. It was recommended to me by a friend and long time MH player. My initial reactions are positive. 4U does a decent job introducing you the weapons in the way of training quests. Just running through these can give you a general feel on how you want to move forward. As you progress through the game you gain access to different shops/services through your caravan. This helps there from being too much to learn at once. Overall the game could be considered very "grindey", but that doesn't have to be a bad thing. Sometimes that's what a gamer is looking for. A casual player can hop on an do a quest at a time and eventually make progress. A hardcore player can dump hours into the game at a time and move forward quickly. Either of these are viable ways to play the game and still have a decent time. Something that Capcom does that other developers could learn from is regular, and free DLC release. They literally release free DLC every month. This includes quests, new gear to unlock, and other things. It shows a dedication to the game and the fan-base.

Never played any of the monster hunter series previously. I decided to purchase this game in order to see what all the hype was about. So far I am very impressed with the graphics and the gameplay. I am only about 6 hours into the game so far but from what I have read and can see it looks like hundreds of hours of fun!
