This game has really deep gameplay mechanics that are simple to learn but soon suck you in with the sheer depth. There is also lots of customization and very high replayability. It's a game you can play for hundreds of hours and not get bored. The fact that it's portable is a plus since you can take it anywhere.

Incredible game, much more accessible than MH3U. This game will take all of your time, all of your friends (unless you play with them), and even my dog begs me to spend more time with him. 5/5 In a world of lousy ports, shady DLC, boring grinds, etc, MH4U stands tall as having by far the most satisfying gameplay

This game is insanely addictive and increasingly impressive with every new monster you slay. With the ability to play with friends both locally or online, you'll be hooked for hours on end. Just remember to eat every now and then! Get this game!

I've been playing Monster Hunter since the ps2 days and I have to say, this is the best monster hunter to date. Much needed revisions were made to make this game play out much better then it's previous versions. Wish there was a Wii U version to compliment the 3ds version, But i guess I'll wait and see.

Pretty simple formula: hunt and beat monsters, turn them into more awesome gear, repeat. It works so well. Graphics are amazing, monsters are detailed and the environments are fun to explore. For a game with such a variety of monsters a few are a pain to fight, but the great majority are great.

MH4U is simply amazing. Not much else to say but if you previously played the other games or you are new to the series, this is the perfect game to put in tons of hours of destroying beastly dragons and creatures and forging new armors and weapons out of their carvings. Highly recommended this game!!!!!

This is my first Monster Hunter game but I've fallen in love with the series. The gameplay seems simple but definitely takes a lot of practice and skill to master. The amount of monsters are great and crafting weapons is what keeps me going. The online gameplay was smooth and made the game even better.

This is a very deep game and I'm looking forward to the online play when I get there. Basically when I'm not playing this game I want to be playing this game. Get it if you have a 3ds and don't mind a little blood. Oh and this is one of the better uses of the 3d for many of the games I've played.

Monster Hunter is a game that's long struggled for recognition outside of Japan, but each game has come closer to achieving mainstream appeal, and with the recent popularity of games like Dark Souls and the strides made in properly teaching and guiding new players through the game, Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate is certainly the most accessible the game's ever been. By no means does that mean the game's been casualized though. All the same stuff from games past is still there, with new weapons, new mechanics, and new monsters. Mounting adds a new level of strategy to the play, and positioning vertically matters an awful lot now. There's plenty of little convenience features too, like item sites help immediately restock for the next hunt. Overall a nice, if not huge, improvement on the formula.

I've been playing the monster hunter series for years and over several games, they just keep getting better! This one brings back old monsters adds new ones and has a significant update to the game play and storyline. Easily a game you can sink hundreds of hours into and sill be entertained.

this version made it pretty good for people like me that never played this series before. It was fun and a lot of action. Although making the equipment and weapons can be a bit confuse at start, but once you get to know it better it actually adds a lot of elements into the game.

This is a great, addictive game, that has a bit of a barrier to entry. At first the controls and number of gameplay mechanics might turn you off, and the first few monsters you fight aren't very interesting. That's because the game is slowly introducing you to its key concepts. Once you make it two or three hours in, and start fighting big monsters, the game really takes off and doesn't stop. Dinosaurs, giant spiders, weird monkey/squirrel beasts, dragons, there's a ton of variety both in monster design and in how to fight them. You also have an awesome cat sidekick, for reasons I don't fully understand. Does the idea of hunting big, impressive, and threatening monsters, fashioning weapons and armor out of their corpses, and then moving on to even bigger and cooler monsters, sound appealing? Then definitely pick this up. It's a reason to buy a 3DS on its own. If you've played previous Monster Hunter games, this is by far the best in the series.

This game is the latest in a long line of amazing monster hunter games. Its true style and game play still match that of the counsel versions. Dont be fooled by the small cart size the 3DS packs this game with as much action as one would want from the series as a whole.

This is my first Monster Hunter game and after 6 hours I am digging it. It took me awhile to settle on a weapon and I still struggle with the camera controls, but there is nothing more satisfying than taking down a huge monster. I haven't tried the online yet but hope to soon.

Great game, the controls are solid even without peripherals like the circle pad pro, and even when playing on the older model 3ds. The newer model 3ds does have reduced load times between zones however. Features tons of free dlc, you really get your money's worth.

This iteration of Monster Hunter can only be played on the current Nintendo portable systems. Fortunately it plays really well and uses the second screen nicely. If you don't have a new 3ds or a circle pad pro, the virtual controller on the screen works good enough.

Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate is the latest in a long-running action title that has stretched across multiple platforms. I haven't gotten very deep into the title yet, but what I've played so far as been a lot of fun and I'm having difficulty putting it down.

Vast amount of content. I'm only 4-5 star quests and have logged in 60+ hrs. The game engages you to replay missions to make armor and weaponry. And the fights with the monster with the level design is challenging and makes your heart pump. Great game.

I just bought a New Nintendo 3DS and needed to buy some games. This game came highly reviewed off of multiple Gaming websites so I decided to purchase it. While looking around on BestBuy, I noticed this game came with a $10 giftcard. Instant buy.
