Never been a Monster Hunter fan much, but I LOVE this game! They definitely did it correctly and made it much more accessible to new players. Previous MoHun games had a pretty steep learning curve. This one is just right. Looks great on the Switch too!

Best Monster Hunter I've ever played. Amazing game all around and great content. Capcom knocked it out the park with this one. Love it so much that I bought a Switch Lite so I can play it when the normal Switch is being used by my family. A Must buy!

Hard at beginning but after you learn the basics its really fun and addicting. The game progressively gives harder monsters and multiplayer is really fun. Updates come regularly adding tons of new stuff. All weapons are pretty unique too

So far it is really good and runs well. Yeah I would have expected 60fps, but honestly on the re engin it runs well. The weapons feel amazing and silk skills (Dont rememeber the names) make combat so fun and fast. It adds mobility honestly.

This a great action rpg, especially if you have a friend or two to play with! I have always appreciated this franchise, but thought the combat and upgrade systems were a bit cumbersome, so I hadn’t purchased a game in the series... until now. This game improves on everything and adds several new movement options that make the game much more enjoyable. All the monsters are cool, and the new strategy mode Rampage is a fun side mode that adds a nice change of pace from time to time. The only negative is that there is a grind to earn more monster parts and money to upgrade your gear, so you will have to fight the same monsters several times in order to get the stuff you want. But if you’re ok with that, and you have at least one friend to play with, this game is a great time. Highly recommended!

I’ve played monster hunter world for 600 hours and though the transition was difficult at first, this is probably the best game in the franchise. Lots of quality improvements and monsters are still fun and challenging.

I pre-ordered the game and then played the demo. I cancelled my pre-order because I didn’t think the game looked very good. Near release review videos were uploaded to YouTube and after watching some of them I pre-ordered again. I’m so glad I did. I have over 2,000 hours playing Monster Hunter World on the PS4 and loved that game. I am enjoying Monster Hunter Rise just as much as Monster Hunter World. There have been a lot of changes and all for the better. The game is a blast to play. If you enjoyed any of the Monster Hunter games you should enjoy this one. If you haven’t liked any of the Monster Hunter games try this one. One thing for sure to do would be to watch YouTube guides. You tubers can give a lot of information on how to play the game.

This game is amazing. I highly recommend it if you are an RPG fan or enjoy action games. This is my first Monster Hunter game and I am having a blast. It was easy to learn how to play the game and the combos are fairly easy for me to learn. I think this might be a good entry point for any new Monster Hunter players. I play this game on my switch lite and I do not experience any frame drops or low FPS during single player. I have not tried the multiplayer yet. The menus are a little small on the switch lite screen but that's an issue with the switch lite since the other games I own are like that.

Fantastic addition to the Monster Hunter franchise. This new installment runs extremely well, is visually very good, gameplay mechanics have been expanded and refined from previous titles while still feeling very familiar. Tons of content, especially for current Monster Hunter fans and somewhat more accessible for new players. The score is also amazing.
After playing Monster Hunter World I was hoping this would be the closest to that for the switch, and fortunately thats pretty much what you get. Controls are very similar if not the same, the camera controls are just as fluid as World.
Not many new releases meet expectations but this gem very much did. If you like the Monster Hunter games then this is a must have.

Finally, a Monster Hunter that allows us gamers to Rise. Looks great for a Switch game with performance that only works because Capcom added a dog to the game increasing the amount of total dogpower.

It's a Monster Hunter game. Defeat or capture monsters to upgrade your armor, and weapons to fight stronger monsters for stronger armor and weapons. It's more Monster Hunter, what's not to like. The biggest improvement over the others is mobility. Mobility makes this more enjoyable to play and less of a chore. Your new dog (palamute) companion, mount and warrior dog; let's you zoom through the map quickly. You're able to snatch up resources while at full sprint, able to track down monsters quickly and fight on your side in battle. I'd give it 4 1/2 stars because the tutorial is so long. But tutorial is necessary because there's so much going on in a Monster game if you're just starting out.

I've tried playing the Monster Hunter series many times in the past, from the Wii to the 3DS, and could never stick with it long enough to actually enjoy it. I had many friends who bought this entry who promised to really walk me through this one if I gave it a shot. Caved in, and after a few hours of trying out different weapons and following build guides for armour and weapon sets, I think I finally understand the appeal of the series for myself. There's still a lot to take in and learn, but once you get the hang of the combat and menus, it really clicks, but I find it much more fun with friends!

Best Monster Hunter, but still Monster Hunter

The best Monster Hunter I've played. Beautiful art style, and fun new traversal mechanics and mounts set this one apart from the rest.
Unfortunately, it's still Monster Hunter, which means it's still a tremendous grindfest where you have to slash a monster 5,000 times before it dies. Then come back and do it again. And again.
It gets tiresome after awhile, and it's not pleasant to play in handheld mode because my thumbs start hurting with so much button mashing. I understand that the damage sponge enemies are a core part of the series, but I just don't enjoy it personally. You don't feel like you're doing much damage. I got tired of the game before I could finish it, and sold it.
Still, if you like Monster Hunter, you'll probably be very happy with this one. I would recommend it to MH fans. I just don't think it's my cup o' tea.
