Customers are saying

Customers enjoy the addictive gameplay, impressive graphics, and the large variety of weapons and monsters in Monster Hunter: World. Many appreciate the consistently added free content and the improved ease of use for new players, although some find the difficulty challenging and the story lacking. The open world is praised for its expansive feel, but a steep learning curve and the need for significant playtime are also noted. While some players find the controls require time to master, the overall experience is considered highly engaging.

I love monster hunter and this one just takes it. Open world, endless weapons and armor combinations and wild co-op make this game the best and definitive monster hunter. Wish it was available for the nintendo switch.

The graphics are great and the control is much better than previous versions. It's still a game that requires a big time investment and a lot of grinding to collect materials to make better weapons and armor, but if that's what you are into, this is a great game.

This game has a lot of content and amazing graphics. Picked this game up since destiny died off. This game brings back the grinding aspects for different items and armor pieces. This game also is holding anyone’s hand.

This game will have you playing for 200+ hours easily. Theres a ton of content. Theres a learning curve, but don't be discouraged. Once you get a hang of the game, you'll play for 6 hours straight and not realize it.

Monster Hunter World is a modernized version of the long running Action RPG by Capcom with brand new monster and maps. Tons of quality of life improvements that makes things easier and simplified to make the hunting experience faster and smoother. The maps are now open and seamless compared to the segregated areas in the maps found in the older games. Content in the base game is a bit short and there aren't as many monsters to hunt compared to the older games. Some of the changes veteran players may not be a fan of, but the game is much easier for new players to get into. Still it's a fun game to play through casually and has plenty of things to grind for if you want to continue playing. Hopefully we'll continue to see more in the future and the series will continue to evolve and grow into a bigger franchise.

Having not played a Monster Hunter game since 2005, I thought that I'd be overwhelmed with returning to the series. Monster Hunter World welcomes both new gamers and the vets of the series. There's A LOT to do in this huge world. You can team up with friends or strangers to tackle tough monsters or you can run Lone Wolf and take in the sights as you grind your levels, building the strength and weaponry to take on monsters yourself. There's really no 'wrong' way to play this game. I also love the fact that Capcom is releasing future DLC for free instead of the microtransaction practices of other games. Enjoy the vast world of monster hunting with its lavish landscapes, heart-pounding chases that are accompanied by a wonderful score.

I can't think of a better game to play with friends. Monster Hunter is an amazing game series and World is no exception. Every weapon feels special, monsters feel unique and real and there are plenty of weapons and armor sets to choose from. There's enough difficulty for those who want it, and finding your perfect set is really worthwhile. I could recommend this enough and with Iceborne on the horizon, now is as good a time as any to get into it.

It has a great grind element that makes you want to play more and more... The monsters you hunt give you elements from their corpses, that you in turn use to craft new weapons to kill more monsters.. causing this great gameplay loop that keeps bringing you back for more!

My only experience with this series was briefly playing the first entry all the way back on PS2. I didn't give it much time back then so I am relatively fresh to the series and jumped right in with this. 150 hours later and I'm still playing this with friends. If you ever really liked the idea of epic boss fights that's essentially all this is. They do it a lot and do it well, making each feel pretty unique in how they play out and what strategy you form to tackle the beasts. If ypu got some friends to play this with it's awesome, even if not getting people to jump into quests with you OS easy and the servers are always busy, especially super late at night when Japan will normally be most active.

I am new to monster hunter, but I have to admit that this has been one of the best games I have played in recent memory. It is really enjoyable. The quests can be challenging, which is a good thing. There is plenty of gear to upgrade. You can grow and harvest things. Send palicos on expeditions. Run quests solo or in multiplayer. Etc,etc. There's just so much to do in this game. I seem to find out something new everyday I play it. On top of all of that, the visuals are beautiful. The multiplayer seems to work flawlessly. It would be nice to see players all over instead of just the hub, but that is honestly the only down side to this game that I can think of so far. All in all, I give this fantastic game a 10/10.

MH:W is a wonderful game. It's deep, satisfying combat will have everyone finding a weapon they like using, and it's customization is staggering. The characters are fun, the monsters are HUGE, and the game is a blast to play. While veteran players should feel right at home (from what I've read online), people new to the series may still be looking things and mechanics up online to see exactly how they work. And the multiplayer....man, that's my biggest gripe. I wish they had streamlined it more to play with friends. Other than that however, a really fun game to sink some hours into. Hundreds of hours if you want to collect everything and rank up.

Definitely worth checking out, not only for seasoned players of the series but newcomers would be able to learn and pick up the game. I played MH a long time ago that I'm back to being a noob and it's just awesome that the game teaches you nicely and in a well-paced manner, imo. For anyone interested buying this game, this is not your typical action game. It's quite technical and complex in the start but once you get the hang of it, you'd get obsessed! You're a hunter!!!

    Monster Hunter On Easy Mode

This game has some changes that are both great for the series but also hurts the series. The visuals are a huge improvement over previous entries, the overall feel of the gameplay feels like Monster Hunter with some overall improvements to the systems, the level design is really good, being able to send out SOS' and get others after the mission starts is quite nice, and it's significantly easier to acquire materials to make items. However, the whole having to track down an enemy and see a cutscene before you can do multiplayer during progression quests is the lamest thing ever and makes it hard to just play with friends. Also the gear and stats system seems like a step back from previous entries. Overall, even with the gripes I have, this is still a fantastic experience and if you're new to the series, this is definitely one to check out.

Love it! So much to do! Best part is you can send an SOS signal to have players help you out or you can make your own posse and do quests together. There's always something to do! Definitely recommend!

Monster Hunter series finally returns to consoles with Monster Hunter World. Great entry back into the console scene. Adds many advancements from the new MHGen series and upgrades to the game that are very welcome. Must have for any Monster Hunter fan and a great point of entry into the series.

It is a great RPG game but can get a little repetitive. You have to kill the same bosses many times and farm for the armor and gear you need. Can be hard at first but gets boring over time because items have low % of drop. Great game play, no jumping so kind of sucks but you can roll easily. Use the differnt classes and get used to what they can do. Then choose which one you like the best. Story mode is easy to complete but like I said, you need the good gear to survive so grind hard. Monsters can take anywhere from 5-50 minutes to kill. Average takes me about 15-25 minutes with long sword while I gather material. Overall it is a great game for PS4 and on a 4K TV (Vizio E55 series)

I have been playing Monster Hunter games for years, and I can safely say this is the greatest game in the series. It comes with all the modern gameplay improvements that comes with using a controller and playing on a console with powerful hardware. I'm not going to lie. Monster Hunter World can feel unfair and hard to people who aren't used to playing a game that demands great attention to detail such as the precision of your attacks on monsters' body parts, or bringing the right gear and equipment for hints. However, it will reward you greatly with the experience of overcoming a foe that is much more powerful than your character, making you feel like a true monster hunter.

Bought this for my wife when I bought Generation Zero. Seen her playing it online with a friend and it looks like a pretty incredible time. Hunting huge wild dragon/ dinosaur looking beasts, plus not to mention the insane looking weapons you have in this one at your arsenal and character customization is pretty rad too. I might eventually buy myself a copy too and jump into this world. After all, it’s Capcom and there’s always something to love about their games too (Resident Evil, Street Fighter, etc).
