It was okay. However, I would never pay full price for this movie.

It was ok but not great Ending could have been much better

I don't know why I love this movie. The monster's really do not have a role in the film but the character's and idea of the film seem to draw me in. I cannot wait for the sequel!

Gareth Edward's Monsters is an incredible little film with VFX that are just as good as some big budget movies.

For an independent film it is pretty decent, enjoy

Worst movie of the century, Slow and Boring..The story aspect was a good idea but the direction it went was awful, I would have put negative stars if possible.

i thought this was a slow boring travelogue with some scaly jelly fish like tentacles filling in for monsters.

It has a lot to look at for the price its ok .Not number one on my list .Its a out of the country movie.

Ok this is not a horrible film but at the same time it can't decide if it want's to be a slow moving love story or a monster flick....and IMO it doesn't meld the two well enough let me be blunt by listing some of the issues i have with this. 1. amphibious giant squids from outer space land in mexico set up shop and breed out of control and they can't be wiped out even with air strikes. 2. we never learn very much about these creatures instead we are made to focus on this guy who is traveling with this girl and we get to hear all the "interesting" yawn things they say to each other. btw they should be scared out of thier minds but most of the time they don't seem to mind that there are giant carnivorous aliens roaming about. they really didn't find a realistic balance between the monsters and the so called "love story". some parts were really good but there are too many gaps with nothing but talking heads and the movie has a real dank look and feel to it....i give it a marginal see it once or twice if you have enough coffee on hand.

What can I say, you must see it to truly appreciate the greatness of it. It's not your typical alien movie, it is very different, I might even say it's a love story instead. Do not judge the film by it's cover or by it's title, this flick leads you in a totally different direction. Don't expect grandious special effects and non stop non sense action. Its artsy, and you must know how to appreciate "beautiful films" to get this one. I just LOVED the final scene in where the two creatures meet, something I have never seen before, it had kind of a meaning like, even the worst of us, despite the terror we can unleash, we are also capable of sharing love.

Monsters is not what you think it is--it's not a straight up monster or alien invasion film. Instead it focuses on the relationship between the two lead characters. This truly is a triumph of independent filmmaking given it was made by a cast and crew of just four people in several different countries. It actually looks much more expensive then it is. Highly recommended!

I was anxious to watch this film for long time. When I watched it, I felt really dissapointed, I could not see the Monsters during the film, they are not leading the history.
