So Ive played MK for awhile now and from MK9 too MK10 you lose the tag team session, and now going from MK10 to MK11 special are way easier to do and the XRay you can only perform it when close to dying there is no building up to get it MK isnt trying anymore.Only good thing about it would be the story mode gameplay is not as fun as it use to be

MK11 hits a home run this year, a perfectly crafted title that has immaculate balance for competitiors with a story that will not let you get one close guess to its continuation. There seems to be some commotion about the lack of rewards for gameplay but that was fixed fast after launch with rewards going up from 10x for coins to 3x for hearts, which are important to the Krypt where you will need thousands to open randomly placed chests that will unlock costumes, finishers, augments and more! As you unlock the mysteries of the Krypt you also get an idea of the fates of some of the characters that did not make the roster for this entry. If you loved the juggle kombos of Mortal Kombat X and are ready for a new style of fighting with offense and defense meters & fatal blows replacing X-Ray combos then this is the game for you.

I'm a fan of all fighting games, but Mortal Kombat holds a special place in my heart. I've played every MK game (except MkVsDC, lol) and this latest edition maintains the MK tradition of offering a konsistent single/multiplayer experience, while pushing the boundaries of what a fighting game can be. Fatalities, and Fatal Blows(formerly X-RAYS) are beautifully disgusting, brutalities are back and there's more of them than ever. Kustomization is expanded upon from Injustice 2, removing stats and the need to unlock special moves. So technically you're able to install the game and immediately start making your own variations for every kharacter. The grind comes when you inevitably need better looking outfits and weapons for everyone. Some are unlocked via story and tutorial modes, but the majority are found inside the Krypt, a labyrinth of loot boxes (sorry for using L word) kontaining random kostumes, finishers, and other krap. Now i know this aspect of the game has been in the news as upsettingly tedious, but this has been acknowledged as overblown by review bombers (and IGN) and glitched with a week 1 patch incoming by ED BOON HIMSELF. In the meantime, get the game, play through story mode, do the tutorials, and finish a tower with your new main! *Shao Kahn laugh*

Great entry in to MK series. Fighting mechanics are solid, and I am intrigued with porting the idea of characters having numerous skins a la Injustice 2. However, the aforementioned skins and fatalities are all locked via the returning krypt game mode. In short, the krypt requires games to grind through fights to accrue currency to use to unlock chests, which house a variety of useable items, skins, and fatalities. Fights give players very minimal rewards, which is similar to that of pay-to-play free games found on mobile platforms. Hopefully, Netherealms balances out the quirks with future patches for the game.

    A Juggernaut of a Fighter

Netherealm Studios has been on a role lately with their recent titles, and MK11 continues the trend. Historically, fighting games lacked much in the way of content even if keeping legions of hardcore followers due to excellent gameplay. With MKX, Injustice 2, and now MK11, NRS pack tons of meaty content into their games, including story modes that set the bar for fighting games and rival a lot of AAA releases. The MK gameplay has been further refined into an impressively deep system that is easy to enjoy but takes time to master. Thankfully, NRS took the time to create a very helpful tutorial system that not only explains the gameplay components specific to MK, but fighting games in general. From simply playing through all of the training, I’m already twice the player I was prior to playing MK11. This game is gorgeous and the character designs are actually practical while still being badass. The sound effects are impressive and add to the impact of the brutality of the game. Aside from a few titles, I’ve always stayed away from fighters and would watch YouTubers play them to scratch that itch for me. With MK11, not only am I having a blast playing, but I feel like I actually can compete against other players.

Mortal Kombat 11 is full of content for either solo play with the story mode or towers, or multiplayer with online versus. The combat is slower paced more like MK2. The variation systems allows you to build your own custom characters. It has a variety of characters including fan favorites. This edition includes just the Season 1 DLC. I took away a star because getting skins and etc. is a bit of a grind and you can't choose the rewards.

Such a great story mode with a wide selection of characters to play as. The Krypt is loaded with fun MK lore and even cameos. The return of the Towers are great and the new Mercy features is great when you want to humiliate your opponent. Including some of the best fatalities and customization for each character.

MK11 improves on MKX in every way. The graphics have improve significantly, the inclusion of custom variations, and collectibles adds replay value. The x-ray moves have been adjusted as fatal blows, so that a player can only use it when the health bar is at 30 % health as to create a comeback for the player. The fatal blow is no longer tied to the amplify bar and can only be used once a round once it connects. The amplify moves are activated with a separate bar (offensive gauge) that fills up over time. The defense gauge is a new addition in which the player can escape air juggles and create a wake-up attack or roll close, or near the fighter without taking damage. The fatalities and fatal blows are brutal as ever! The only complaint would be that the grind toward receiving the game's collectibles, and the fact that the towers of times can feel cheap because different hazards attack the player that is an advantage to the CPU fighter.

Bought this at launch with GCU and happy enough with it. The story mode in MK11 is fantastic and the fighting mechanics are great. What hurts it is the extreme grind that it is to earn all of the different currencies in the game to buy stuff in the krypt. The Steelbook in this version is really nice though and I'm looking forward to the DLC fighters.

The story and characters are great. There's a diverse line up that includes many fan favorites. The towers seem more difficult and not as fun as MKX, but hopefully the new patch corrects this. Until they release more DLC information I'm on the fence whether the Premium Edition was worth it

as a long time Mortal Kombat fan they rarely do anything to leave me disappointed. great new entry in the series that also introduces a few new playable characters into the series amazing graphics and details. amazing fatalities a nice story mode and host of modes to play. my only gripes would probably been some of the characters that haven't returned to the series and the fact that they didn't bring the tag matches back...other than that this will be one of the best games to come out this year and will be worth every dime.

The series takes the success of MKX and tweaks the formula to provide the best MK experience to date. Although the roster is currently missing a few staples to the series, the game will have kombat packs that will fill out the roster with both new and old faces. There is plenty to do in the single player mode with a robust story mode and plenty of challenges and items to grind for to keep you busy. The animations, models and overall graphics are top notch with plenty of ridiculous gore to keep any MK fan happy.

The game is definitely a step up from MKX In terms of graphics. The fighting mechanics are pretty much the same which is a great thing except for the fact that now you can’t use a crushing blow at any point in the game. The only player allowed to use the crushing blow is the player with less than 20% of health. And once used it’s definitely a game changer. A move that can leave you very vulnerable and soon defeated. The game is one of the greatest fighting games of the year so far.

This is definitely a great game, don't get me wrong. I love how they bring back so many under-used characters, like Skarlet and Noob Saibot. The new characters are great- Kollector, Geras, and Cetrion, who is my favorite character of the game. Story mode is great, expanding on the MK mythology and drawing on existing mythology from different sources, such as turning the god of time Chronus, into a female as the final boss- Kronika. The Krypt is amazing, not too difficult to unlock everything. The fatalities, brutalities, and mercies are awesome, of course. My only complaint is the political correctness, primarily not dressing the female kombatants in sexy clothes; come on, they can swear and kill people, but not show some skin?!

During the weeks leading to MK 11 I played MKX heavily in anticipation. And while I really really like the game and what it does, some things about it just feel off. The ability to customize characters deeply is a welcome addition but the mechanics of making the variations feels awkward to me. You can bypass this entirely but if you do, you will feel that your character is just missing something. I much prefer the 3 preset choices from X overall. Having said that the story is enjoyable and the Krypt is a blast. I find some of the dlc characters questionable but don’t let that detract you from the overall game. It is a good solid game with that familiar NRS feel.

I love this game, gameplay is fantastic, and for a fighting game, still thw best story. My only complaints about the game havw already begun to get addressed by the developers which to me says they care, and it's just fun. Is it worth the price? ABSOLUTELY! Steel book is mint, and game has a lot to offer even before DLC... Side note, the love these games have for the first movie astounds me and pleases me greatly.

Been a fan of Mortal Kombat since day one and till this day has never disappoint. Love how this game has many things do to rather than just fight a AI or a friend. There is The Krypt that will keep you busy for days discovering secrets and lore, plus bumping to many past MK references. The Fighting has never been so good and the Fatalities are bloody as always.

MK11 takes the fighting genre to a whole new level. Everything from presentation to story to fighting mechanic is a step above any other fighting game in the market. The game has incredible amount of content and everything feels polished. If you like fighting games, this is a no brainer. If you don’t, this game might change your mind.
