This reboot of Mortal Kombat is a remarkable start to hopefully, a new franchise with great fight scenes, good character development, and even a little bit of fun. All the elements are here, paying tribute to the video game franchise and original films while also exploring some new territory with amazing blood and guts along the way. The 4K UHD with HDR10 looks amazing and the Dolby Atmos track is phenomenal. There are some great extras as well. Highly Recommended.

This movie is heavily based off of the recent Mortal Kombat reboot game timeline, so it’s very different from the 1995 film and the lore many MK fans might have grown up with. That being said, it makes up for the somewhat bland story with some epic fight scenes, even if some are way too short. Effects are well done, and the fatalities are gory and over the top, just like the games. Definitely worth a watch, if only for the Subzero/scorpion fight that I’ve been waiting 30 years to see properly on the big screen.

Cole the main character lacks any real substance or purpose. The other characters we know and love from the games are the stars of the show in this movie. If you are looking to see characters that are more obscure, they are present. Nitara and Reiko (who I think the wrote poorly and wrong) are present, as well as you mains....Liu Kang, Kung Lao, Raiden, Sonia Blade, Kano, Kabal, Shang Tsung, Mileena, etc. Kano is the real star of the movie. I can't wait to see where they go with the sequel.

Good But Not Great Entry into the MK Franchise

This movie starts out very strong, but as it progresses the plot holes start getting very noticeable. Without spoiling too much, Mortal Kombat is all about the tournament. This movie lets fans down in that department. The updated CGI and some of the fight scenes are videogame savvy, and it is still leaps and bounds better that Mortal Kombat Annihilation. The action and fight scenes still make it a worthy purchase. Test Your Might!!

Where movies goes, it is not often when a remake is even better than the original- it is a rarity. So is the case with the 2021 remake of 1995’s Mortal Kombat. This remake is fully action packed with updated top notch CGI special effects. I hail it as a martial arts version of X-Men. A definite popcorn matinee movie that explains the original roots of the original story. A not to be missed martial arts actioner with spectacular sci-fi special effects.

This was so good, it gets a 5! The actors, storyline, effects-all amazing! I looked forward to this one so much and it was so worth it. The concept was great and there is never a dull moment. My only gripes are that Outworld should been used better, and 2 major characters were missing. Unless there's another movie coming...and yes, they did remember THAT famous line in this movie too!

Awesome movie and by far the best movie in all the attempts to make a video game to movie adaption for Mortal Kombat. The characters were all perfect for their roles and the signature finishing moves brought from the game were awesome. As a kid growing up in the 80s, this movie took me back to my childhood of experiencing Mortal Kombat when it first debuted in the arcades.

Huge Mortal Kombat fan! Getting this was a must for my collection. I watched this on HBO max first and the debated on buying a copy. This was on sale for $9.99 and it was a no brained not to buy this. Obviously out of the other 2 movies, this would rank number 2 on the list. Nothing like 4K with Dolby atoms in your home paired with an OLED to watch this! Also, Kano is soooo funny!

Not as campy as the original film, and really entertaining to boot! Not exactly an award winner by any means, but if you were a fan of the video games, this latest Mortal Kombat film may satisfy an itch until you get the next installment of the video game. Recommend owning if you can find the blu-ray or 4K at a reasonable price. Looks great on 4K!

Good film adaptation that could use some improvements for further installments if the series continues. Overall good acting from the entire cast. The action sequences were pretty great with tons of fanfare thrown in to please the MK fanatics. Looking forward for some sequels to this film and hoping they’ll get better and better with each one.

Barely anyone remembers the first Mortal Kombat movies, and if you do, then you'll definitely want to see this one. This version is pretty much how the other 2 should have been made. It's violent, familiar characters, a pretty decent story, and of course the blood and gore that made the arcade game so sought after when it was released years ago.

Yes yes yes. This reboot was done perfectly. Yes is always about the tournament and Mortal Kombat fans know the backstory between Subzero and Scorpion, but for someone like me who hadn't played the games or seen the original movies, the additional background into their rivalry really out the movie in a different light for me

I enjoyed this film much more than I anticipated, it’s definitely one of, if not the best video game adaptations to date. The revenge story plot line is pretty basic but the martial arts and action is nearly perfectly done and the 4K video and Atmos audio make those action scenes even better. Recommended if you want to turn your brain off and have a good time!

Pretty okay movie. It hits in some ways and misses in others. The Mortal Kombat animated movies is where it's at, but this isn't bad. It would have been great if we had this movie years ago, but it's not quite the Mortal Kombat movie I would have liked to see after growing up with the original movies.

I have been a fan of Mortal Kombat since it first came out on video games. I also watched the previous movies and nothing compares to this one. The story and the action scenes was above and beyond then what I expected. This movie is definitely a collector's item. I can't wait to see how they are going to top this one!

If your were ever a fan of the original arcade game and the subsequent games over the decades, this is a pretty enjoyable watch. The story itself is fairly basic with a lot of elements of fan service. The special features are pretty decent and provide some good behind the scenes looks at the making of the film.

So I’m still a fan of the original Mortal Kombat movie n not the sequel. This new version has some nice updated elements n hints at more though sometimes I wish for stand-alones n then happy when a sequel is made As for the film itself— see imdb. I liked some of the twists n others felt to predictable

Movie is the definition of "OK" great source material but sadly it was barely explored. They had a ton of characters to choose from and they decide to create a new one almost just so they have an excuse for all the explanations they had to do. With all that being said, it is still a fun movie albeit a little uneven.
