I am a huge Mortal Kombat fan and I was waiting for this movie for months. This movie is good but it has room for improvement. The performances are spectacular. In this movie, the main highlight apart from the gore is the incredible performance of the actors. Josh Lawson's Kano is a show stealer and makes the audience smile whenever he is on screen. His comedic timing is precise and does not feel forced. Sub Zero played by Joe Talsim is also spectacular. He is so menacing and Joe Talsim's performance just makes the movie experience so much better. Scorpion is without a doubt my favourite MK character of all time and Hiroyuki Sanada as the vengeful spectre is just perfect. Hiroyuki Sanada's energetic and powerful performance escalates the character to a whole new level. Despite being only 1 hour 40 minutes long the movie does not feel rushed and the decision to make the movie R- rated was the right call. The gore, the brutality, the emotions all made the audience emotionally connected with the characters. The movie also has many easter eggs only hardcore fans of the game can notice including the classic Fatalities of iconic characters. Overall I loved this movie and I recommend you watch it. Can't wait for the sequel to come out.

Simon McQuoid's cinematic reboot of the Mortal Kombat franchise isn't as great as MK Legends: Scorpion's Revenge (which also debuted back in April), but it's decent stuff considering the source material and low budget. Its scattershot story obviously attempts to set up a handful of sequels and spin-offs -- perhaps too many for it to stand on its own -- but the groundwork has been laid and, if nothing else, it'll do until something better arrives. Warner Bros.' 4K combo pack is the better of the two primary home video options, offering a solid A/V presentation bolstered by great HDR enhancement and a great (but not perfect) Dolby Atmos track that reigns in most of the chaos. Hell, even the extras are pretty good. All told, it's a well-rounded package that fans will enjoy and comes Recommended.

The Most Absolutely Best Place To Get Your Collectible Movies STEELBOOK version! BestBuy never disappoints! I’m a huge MKfan from the late 80’s and I do understand it’s beyond difficult to satisfy two generations with a $55M budget...BUT they did get off to a great start with the authenticity! If your a top MK fan definitely go buy this and support the brand so we can get that spectacular film later on that we all want! If you want MK to become present and get more content please definitely get this film and it also does include some wild off the chain action fights and fatalities that I won’t spoil for you! Don’t wait! Grab it!

Lets start off saying anyone who expected this movie to be a nominee for best picture is just crazy. This movie is for anyone who loves a great action film. I am going to rate the movie based on video and audio quality. For audio, this was an amazing movie. There is not a lot of atmos experience in this movie, BUT I really enjoyed the clarity and sound movement during the sword scenes. Video, I think this film looks great- not that much film grain and I'm happy with it. It's not something i'd just keep on the shelf, I would definitely watch it again.

This current version of Mortal Kombat is an awesome movie in every aspect, has a few crazy and unrealistic moments, but what movie nowadays doesn't. Story-wise it is a great build up to the next three installments of Mortal Kombat. The quality of the 4K version is topnotch if you've a 65" or larger screen to enjoy this movie on. A superb sound system can make all the difference in your enjoyment of this martial arts spectacle. The tin case packaging is well thought with few of the still photos taken from the movie and used here. Very awesome, indeed.

When I Saw the NEW Version of the Video Game Adaptation, I wasn't sure how it was going to be cause I'm So Used to the 1st 2 Versions that came out in the 90's. I Must say, THIS IS AWESOME! And, The STEELBOOK is AMAZING! I thought something was wrong with it because one side looks upside down, but I realized that's the way it was originally intended.. ;) (the Ying & Yang).. ENJOY!!!

SteelBook's are so pretty. I have a few now. Sadly I missed the Blu-Ray version of the original movies that was out not so long ago. Didn't want that to happen again. Movie is solid with an excellent buildup for a whole new series. Excited to see what they come out with next. I'm feeling Noob Saibot is going to be awoken.

The comedy moments in this film rival the action moments, which is a bit surprising as this is supposed to be more of an action film but I like the direction of what they did here. Great 4K steelbook design, unfortunately if you flip from front to back the back is up-side down. This is that way on all copies. Not a huge deal breaker but odd choice.

I absolutely love the steel box collectors edition from Best Buy. It matches nicely with my other steel box collection. Now back to the movie. I would rate Mortal Kombat a C+. The first half and the ending were good. The middle of the film was lagging, and I wish they did a better job with CGI effects with some of the characters, mainly Goro.

Gorgeous Steelbook and movie format. However, deleted scenes are practically nonexistent and the bonus features could have been way more. Get the Steelbook for the beauty and the collector's edition part of it. But don't expect a lot of great features. I wish they'd added more scenes, because I know movies like this cut the "filler" for the "action" and sometimes the "filler" really helps the story out and should have been left.

Wow i am honestly surprised that this movie was actually good because normally video game adaptation movies turn kut bad and are poorly made with bad special effects (cgi) and terrible acting. This movie did not have that and it was entertaining and enjoyable all the way from the beginning to the end. I recommended people to watch this if your a fan lf mortal kombat or you like movies with hand to hand combat fight scenes.

Fun movie with fantastic packaging/presentation. Love the SteelBook collections. The movie is not quite as great as the 90's flick, but, with today's movie-making, this turned out as good as it could be. Hopefully, there will be a sequel. Still buying physical media specifically for cover art and bonus features.

I was a huge fan of the original Mortal Kombat movie from the 90s, and this new one is right up there with it. The action was good, It was fun, and there are fatalities just like in the games as well, So far a good fun Mortal Kombat movie that you should add to your collection with the other movies.

Action packed movie! It will keep you at the edge of your seats. The picture quality is excellent for 4k televisions. It felt like you were in the movie. If you’re into action packed movies, you’ll like this one and you won’t be disappointed! Highly recommended!!

The steelbook is so nice, definitely worth it. I got it shipped so it came to my house before it was even released in store!! Best Buy does an amazing job securing the movie during shipping too so it was not damaged in any way. That's really important to me since I am a big collector.

This movie definitely has problems(especially editing) but if your a fan you will appreciate the care the director took with the characters, especially Kano. Sub-Zero is like a horror character, and steals every scene he is in. Hopefully the sequel will get greenlit and improve.

The Mortal Kombat reboot is a fun time even though you can tell this is mainly a set up movie. The picture quality is great and it sounds amazing on 4K. The steelbook itself has a great design but this is a “reversible” steelbook so the back panel is upside down. Honestly if it was right side up this would have been a better product, but as it is this is worth a purchase.

I really enjoyed this reboot of the movie franchise, even if it was sort of like a setup for a superhero franchise without knowing if it will get the sequels it needs to flesh out the story. Nevertheless, it's still definitely worth a watch for the amazing fight sequences!

I thought I missed out on this awesome steelbook release from Best Buy. Thankfully, it was restocked around Black Friday and took advantage of the sale that was going on around the time. While the film is pretty average, the steelbook art really won me over. It's still a fun movie to watch with friends. Overall, I'm happy with picking this one up.
