Customers regard Mortal Shell's gameplay as unique and enjoyable, praising its graphics and finding the length appropriate for the price. However, some players found the difficulty challenging, particularly the boss battles, leading to frustration for some. The availability of a free PS5 upgrade was also a positive aspect for many.

Mortal shell is a very good indie game with a dark souls essence. This game has a lot to offer by bringing new ideas to the genre. The game offers 6 to 10 hours of play for the less experienced in the genre and very good graphics for not being a AAA game. I just platinized the game and I can say that it is very good I would like them to release a second part with more budget.

A very polished Souls like game. The combat is fun, the atmosphere is dark, and the game can be extremely frustrating at times. I think I put in about 8 hours, but I was having such a good time I wanted more. Hopefully the team will make something a little bigger in the future.

Soulsborne-ish, but very slow combat.

Short and sweet here, if you enjoy Dark Souls, Sekiro, and the likes than you'll probably at least enjoy this enough for a playthru which doesn't take too long. If you enjoy it, a NG+ exists. There is a lack of bosses sadly, but the ones that do exist pose a bit of challenge until you master the combat. The swapping body is a very fresh mechanic. While it may not be a 5 stars for me, this is probably the best 'soulsborne' I've played that didn't come from FromSoftware.

Great game. Souls-like with a twist. Short enough to not be a slog, long enough to be worth 30$. If you like the soulsborne genre then this game is for you. The world reminds me of 80’s fantasy movies like never ending story and labyrinth. The visuals are gorgeous and it gets a free next gen upgrade which really helps it play smooth. Not a lot of explanation in the game but souls games don’t either. Get this game if you like a challenge.

If you like Dark Souls/Demon’s Souls type hack n’ slash games you’ll dig this one. Not an easy game to progress through. If you give up easy and lack patience & or a taste for violence don’t wast your time. The game is full of inbreeds who enjoy rushing your blindside while your busy killing their kin. Boss Battles are ridiculous. Happy Hunting.

Big souls fan - love the challenge. Wasn't expecting to be almost a carbon copy of a Souls game but it's close. It is not as polished as some of the newer From Software titles with minor glitches here and there; however, when engaged, you begin to forget about some of the issues. The rough around the edges feel is what makes it special, the boss battles feel challenging and the atmosphere feels just right. I recommend this game if you enjoy the challenging, atmospheric type Souls game

It goes without saying, but the Souls influence on this game is strong. That said, this game does just enough to stand on its own and is a solid game with great mechanics and impressive graphics. I have 10 hours in so far and I am really enjoying it. If you like Dark Souls, you will like this!

I rather enjoyed this game, good to play while waiting on demon souls, very souls like ajdbi realise its a watered down term nowadays but even so, very great. Wanted it on pc but they didnt put on steam...getting tired of that crap but id rather play a lesser port than install epic so i got ps4 version.

Relatively short only 4 real bosses and weapons. The length is fair for the price.
Not as good as bloodborne or dark souls but again worth the price.
Last boss for me was a difficulty spike

This game is hard. Like in Dark Souls level hard which makes sense considering it is heavily inspired by the series. If you don’t like DS you won’t enjoy this.
