Bought this for my daughter who had a j3. Great camera options for focus and outnif focus for instagram. Coloring was off until we read an article that ref will be red once you change your accessibility selections not in the camera. That should’ve been more intuitive but overall she loved the camera. Sleek blue metallic we opted for a clear case. Not too big either so still fits in pockets.

Bought this phone for one of my kids and it has been great. The build is very good and looks like a pricier model. Screen looks great, battery life is good and phone is also water and dust resistant. This is an unlocked model and will work on all the major carriers. I figured this would be a better option than to be tied to another 18, 24, or 36 month lease.

I tried out the Pixel 3 XL and the Moto X4 when I started testing my Google service.
The two phones worked quite comparably but the X4 cost only about 1/5th as much, compensating a bit for the camera not being in the same ballpark.
The features are really comparable though. Battery life is actually the same or better than the Pixel 3 XL. Android Nougat vs Pie. Essentially, the low point is the camera (low light, especially).

So far the Moto X4 is a great phone. Much more advanced than the current AT&T offerings. Holds it's charge well. Biggest complaint after the first week is the inability to add frequently used words to the texting dictionary.

Solid replacement for my older Moto Z model. Has NFC, USB-C charger, a bonus FM radio app AND the moto gestures! High end features on a super low budget phone. Thicker than Z models but somehow this is more comfortable to hold. The battery life is crazy so far. I am really impressed with this device so if you like to Moto Z line but don't use the Mod features this might be the phone for you.

For the money, I don't think that you can do better than this phone. It is unlocked, so it should work with ANY carrier (I used it with Metro PCS with no problems). The screen is nice and high-resolution with a full-HD display. The version of Android is almost completely vanilla, with no crap-ware pre-installed. 3 GB of RAM seems like it is plenty. Also, firmware updates are frequent (hooray). Really, there are only a few drawbacks. First, the "selfie" cam is a higher resolution than the main camera (really, who thought this one up). Second, there are two cameras on the back, but the 2nd one is very wide-angle and only 8MP. Plus, it has significant barrel distortion. The screen also gets washed out easily outside in sunlight. Finally, the Moto action (twist to get camera, chop twice for flashlight) seems to act very slowly when compared to my previous Moto G4+. Still, every phone that does not cost a grand or more is going to have some drawbacks, and these are very reasonable. If you are looking for a quality phone in this price range, get this one. Plus, being water-resistant (even with a headphone jack) is a GREAT bonus that should not be underestimated.

It's a good phone overall but I don't like that it's missing an alert indicator. There is no blinking light to let you know of a missed call or message. I have to always press a button instead of just glancing over to see if I've missed anything.

For the money, this phone is definitely a good deal. Nice build quality and feature set (though missing some cool things like wireless charging). It was a christmas gift for my wife and she is pleased.

I bought the phone for my wife. She switched from an iphone to android and was worried that she would have problems using it however, she has had none. She loves the camera and the slimness of the phone.

I bought this phone because it is a universal, unlocked phone, good for international travel. It replaced a Nokia Windows phone which I had taken to calling my dumb smartphone. I haven’t begun to explore all it’s possibilities but so far it has worked fine for phone calls, texts and online queries. The fast charging feature is great but I’ve had to buy a new charger for the car since this has a C USB port. The fingerprint sensor seems to work fairly well. At least I’ve had better luck with it than with my iPad sensor!

My first smart phone so not too familiar with them, but nice features. Nice to be able to set a time that the phone is in Do not disturb with exceptions for family so the odd telemarketer/scam call in the late night/wee hours of the morning just doesn't happen. Good battery life.

It’s a good phone but wish the representative would have know more details on the phone. I would have gotten the 64 gig version if I knew the operating system takes over 13 gigs of the 32 internal gig.

I've had many cell phones and every time I get a deal on some other brand, I regret it. Motorola is affordable and dependable. With work, grad school, and kids I need to access all kinds of information quickly on this phone and it does the job!

Although I preferred my Galaxy s7 I was not willing to pay $900 for a s9. Takes a bit of getting used to but for $600 savings it is fine.

Moto X4 (Anroid One version) - THERE IS A DIFFEREN

There is a difference between Moto X4 and the X4 Android One version. The Android One comes with less Motorola Software on it but at the cost of loss of functionality - the biggie is lose the ability to turn that waste of space finger print button into a home button in the X4 but the X4 Android One version you can't! And also lose multiple blutooth speakers options. Those were the big ones and big enough to drop it 2 stars. I didn't know about this until too late to return it! Buy the X4 original, NOT the Android One version. The only saving grace to not drop below 3 stars is that with less Motorola software, there's a slight bit more room - but not enough to make up for the loss in functionality. Maybe the battery will last longer? Don't know, probably not.
