Customers are saying

Customers commend the Moto Z 4G LTE for its long battery life, affordability, and good camera quality. Many users also appreciate that the phone is unlocked, thin, and compatible with Moto mods and various attachments. The projector feature is also a popular highlight. On the downside, some customers find the frequent updates disruptive.

I've had Motorola phones for years because they are well made and tested to ensure they stand up to the things that happen to phones- I've dropped them more than once. The quality hasn't changed with Motorola's acquisition by Lenovo. This phone is thin enough to fit in my small bag, is clear during calls, has great battery life and charges quickly, takes a micro SD card and has a decent camera. Doesn't have a headphone jack- comes with a USB-C cable to convert your headphone jack, or use Bluetooth.

Super Thin, No built in Head Phone jack

Super Thin Phone, good on batteries, No Built in Head Phone jack... (They give you a dongle instead... AND NOT THE DONGLE THAT ALLOWS YOU TO CHARGE AND HAVE A PHONO JACK ON THE SAME ADAPTER... THAT SUCKS!!!) All functions work fine and quickly... Not much bloatware... THIS AND THE SPORT VERSION HAVE A SERIOUS PROBLEM WHEN MATCHED WITH THE MOTO EXTENDED BATTERY... IN SOME UNITS (INCLUDING MY PREVIOUS PHONE) THE BATTERY INSIDE THE PHONE WILL START TO SWELL AND PUSH AGAINST THE SCREEN, CAUSING THE SCREEN TO BOW OUTWARD FROM THE BODY OF THE PHONE... IF YOU BUY THE EXTENDED BATTERY DO NOT LEAVE IT ATTACHED WHILE CHARGING FOR EXTENDED PERIODS OF TIME... OR THE PHONES INTERNAL BATTERY MAY START TO SWELL AND THAT WILL BE THE BEGINNING OF THE END the screen will start to turn black and very quickly become unusable... Best Buy will not replace your phone unless you have the extended warranty... You'll have to send it back to Motorola!

My moto x pure was dying when on a trip. I went to the local BB mobile and saw the moto z. This phone is outstanding for the price, I was considering a note 8 but couldn't bring myself to pay 1000 dollars for a phone. The associates where knowledgeable about the phone. The Verizon store people acted like they had never seen it before and it was just released to all carriers.

      Hi Ismail,

Thanks for your wonderful feedback! The phone is indeed great as the device is a stock android phone and the phone performs fast as it should.

I needed a new phone for a while. But at the end of the day mine did what I needed it to; social media, photos, and music. So it was hard to get excited about any of the phones out there. I am not a tech guy so it takes a bit to get me interested. Then the Moto Z came out. Different, big fan of different. But I am an AT&T user. So I couldn't get it. Then the unlocked came out. I bought it day one with ALL the mods. I use the extra battery every day. It is nice to go to work then come home and place the battery on a wireless charger and still have a fully charged phone in my hands. The speaker is awesome. I use it on my motorcycle. The projector is useful and fun. Sometimes I just lay in bed a project a show on the ceiling. The camera I have not used yet but I am excited about it. All that being said, my 15 year old asked for a new phone for Christmas. So I bought her the Moto Z play. You will not find a better $400 phone. All in all big fan. Functional, fun, well built, looks great. I will never buy a phone from a service provider again. Get the geek squad protection and enjoy owning your phone.

A few changes from Moto X Pure but same basic size and display. Uses C connector, which means I had to get new wires. Power button move down below volume. Adds fingerprint scanner. Thinner but after adding back or wireless charge about the same depth

I am glad Best Buy had this phone available unlocked. I hate the fact that TMobile has such terrible phone selection. Anyways I bought this phone due to its Moto Mods which have been great. I bought the Incipio battery MOD which has been perfect. This phone in general is lightweight, has great screen, takes great photos for what I do. Does not have a ton of garbage bloatware and has functioned perfectly fine.

This phone has a lot of features, battery life is amazing, this model is thinner than the Moto Z play, if you like a customizable phone, ringtones, and freedom to move files between your pc and phone without the need of a special tool (itunes) this phone is for you. Cons Not able to connect (cast) to my Samsung smart tv using the embeded app on the phone but beware if the phone finds a chromecast device in the same public/private network it will mirror your screen without any prompt or warning.

The Moto Z is a great phone it's very thin fast and the Moto mods are a plus I use the speaker mod all the time. Only con is that sence it's so thin it's has a small battery other than that it's a great phone

The phone is really fast and responsive. I'm much impressed with it. I bought this to experiment with moto mods especially the projector one and I'm very happy with it. I've used Samsung and am keeping iphone (official phone, can't get rid of) and I must say that this combination stands out. I now use this combination while travelling and do not both turning on the hotel TV.

Motorola is a pioneer in the cell phone business and it's apparent in the overall execution of this spectacular device. Large, beautiful display, excellent signal quality, superior functionality. Super slim, great camera, water resistant, crazy long battery life, fast charging, interchangeable shells for the back that are elegant and varied. And the mods are unique and cleaver if so inclined. This is an excellent standout device for those who choose to not follow the crowd.

I was a bit skeptical after operations were turned over to Lenovo, but I'm a believer now. There is no other device in the market that has done mods the proper way. On top of the high performance of this phone, people will stop and ask about it because of how incredibly thin, yet sturdy this phone is. Keep it up and keep pushing out timely updates!

I have had far too many different phones and brands over the years. Without a doubt, this is my favorite phone. Excellent battery life, features, and size. The fingerprint scanner works near flawlessly. Screen is incredible. And no added software to deal with. I primarily use bluetooth headphones, so no issue there.

Fun. It's the main word I use to describe the phone. Wanna change the look? Slap on a fun new style shell. Wanna have more fun? Grab a Moto Mod and have fun listening to music, taking pictures, using a projector to binge watch Initial D, get a physical keyboard, etc. Great phone, switched from a Galaxy S8+, no regerts. Camera takes good pics, screen is bright and pretty, speaker is front facing, and this thing charges stupid fast. I'll constantly be surprised when I look at it while it charges and think "Wow, it's already gotten that much battery? It's only been 15 minutes." Great phone, please buy it and get some mods. You'll love it.
