Thin phone with big features
I've had Motorola phones for years because they are well made and tested to ensure they stand up to the things that happen to phones- I've dropped them more than once. The quality hasn't changed with Motorola's acquisition by Lenovo. This phone is thin enough to fit in my small bag, is clear during calls, has great battery life and charges quickly, takes a micro SD card and has a decent camera. Doesn't have a headphone jack- comes with a USB-C cable to convert your headphone jack, or use Bluetooth.

Super Thin, No built in Head Phone jack
Super Thin Phone, good on batteries, No Built in Head Phone jack... (They give you a dongle instead... AND NOT THE DONGLE THAT ALLOWS YOU TO CHARGE AND HAVE A PHONO JACK ON THE SAME ADAPTER... THAT SUCKS!!!) All functions work fine and quickly... Not much bloatware... THIS AND THE SPORT VERSION HAVE A SERIOUS PROBLEM WHEN MATCHED WITH THE MOTO EXTENDED BATTERY... IN SOME UNITS (INCLUDING MY PREVIOUS PHONE) THE BATTERY INSIDE THE PHONE WILL START TO SWELL AND PUSH AGAINST THE SCREEN, CAUSING THE SCREEN TO BOW OUTWARD FROM THE BODY OF THE PHONE... IF YOU BUY THE EXTENDED BATTERY DO NOT LEAVE IT ATTACHED WHILE CHARGING FOR EXTENDED PERIODS OF TIME... OR THE PHONES INTERNAL BATTERY MAY START TO SWELL AND THAT WILL BE THE BEGINNING OF THE END the screen will start to turn black and very quickly become unusable... Best Buy will not replace your phone unless you have the extended warranty... You'll have to send it back to Motorola!

I can't go to another phone
My moto x pure was dying when on a trip. I went to the local BB mobile and saw the moto z. This phone is outstanding for the price, I was considering a note 8 but couldn't bring myself to pay 1000 dollars for a phone. The associates where knowledgeable about the phone. The Verizon store people acted like they had never seen it before and it was just released to all carriers.

More than a phone
I needed a new phone for a while. But at the end of the day mine did what I needed it to; social media, photos, and music. So it was hard to get excited about any of the phones out there. I am not a tech guy so it takes a bit to get me interested. Then the Moto Z came out. Different, big fan of different. But I am an AT&T user. So I couldn't get it. Then the unlocked came out. I bought it day one with ALL the mods. I use the extra battery every day. It is nice to go to work then come home and place the battery on a wireless charger and still have a fully charged phone in my hands. The speaker is awesome. I use it on my motorcycle. The projector is useful and fun. Sometimes I just lay in bed a project a show on the ceiling. The camera I have not used yet but I am excited about it. All that being said, my 15 year old asked for a new phone for Christmas. So I bought her the Moto Z play. You will not find a better $400 phone. All in all big fan. Functional, fun, well built, looks great. I will never buy a phone from a service provider again. Get the geek squad protection and enjoy owning your phone.
