The Motorola mod concept is a great concept. The only reason I didn't get it five stars is because they underplay the power of their phone. They could have used more pins, I would like to see 512 pins, so that the connected mods would have much more potential. A 512 set up what allow for artificial intelligence packages. The phone has some little problems in Motorola needs to fix such as giving the user the ability to lock the screen while talking on the phone. So that you do not hit buttons but you don't want to hit as it touches your face. It's small things like this it prevented me from giving it five stars.

I love the Moto z series, but the first one was the best.i bought the Moto z 4 less than two months ago and I've broken the screen twice. I thought the z series was supposed to be bullet proof. The z1 and z2 had screens that you couldn't break, this my purchase of the z4, proves that is no longer a consideration. I am glad I bought the gaurentee. I have the hassalblad camera, the video projector, and the 360° camera. I hope they will go back to their roots and stick to the knitting.

This is my third Motorola over the years and the best yet. Some of the operating changes are annoying but like anything new, you get used to it. Picture quality is great and battery life is long since I don't do much streaming. Overall, very happy with this product so far.

I looked into this phone before I purchased it. While it is a good phone the only issue I have is the lack of easily available moto mods. That was the major reason for me buying it. At this point I will be gifting it to one of the kids. For them this will be ok. Nice screen quality and good camera for what they'd need it for. If more of the mods I want come out I will repurchase this device.

This was a purchase made out of necessity when the current phone died before a trip. Having had Motorola before, I knew the brand would be good and the camera would meet my expectations without paying the hefty fee of an iPhone. So far, no complaints- and I don’t anticipate any.

Replaced a Motorola Moto Z Force Droid that was 3 years old. This phone has a good battery life and is compatible with previously purchased Moto Mods.

I have had several versions of this phone and all the externals work with the next version. I never step forward to buy the latest and greatest but wait for prices to come down. This phone is make buy the oldest and most reliable radio manufacturer in the world. (sidebar....for those of you that are baby boomers motorola is/was the manufacturer for communication equipment for police, fire, rail, plane and vessel for the past 70-years.

You can maximize this phone with mods. Attach the jbl soundboost for really great sound, or the 360 camera for enhanced views of your 360 photos or videos

It’s a good budget phone. Wish there a was an actual case designed for it, because it is fragile. And the screen will crack the first time its dropped.

I bought this phone because I already have a bunch of Moto mods as this was a replacent for my Z2 Play. For it being a newer phone I was expecting a lot. I would not say I'm disappointed but I think there are some things people should know before they buy this. The mods do not fit flush with the edges of the phone as it is slightly larger than previous models. The 360 camera mod isn't that cool, the quality of the photos is pretty lacking so don't expect to be impressed by it other than the "cool" factor of being able to take 360 degree photos. I definitely would never have bought one on its own but it's alright for being free with the phone. The screen is so brittle. Within 24 hours I broke it. This is a huge downfall for me because I'm hard on my phones. I hardly dropped it maybe 2.5 feet to the ground and it shattered to the point the screen wouldn't light up. The screen is really easy to replace and I think anyone could do it though. The fingerprint scanner is atrocious. It takes longer to read my finger than it would be to type in a code 10 times over. There are so many better phones on the market for the same price. The amount of pointless notifications this phone pushes to the user is absolutely ridiculous. Why would anyone need to see a notification for "sound starting" or "midi initializing" like what would possibly be the point for this?! Even when I disable notifications they still pop up and it drives me nuts. I give this phone an overall 5.5/10 for all of these quirks and honestly the Moto z2 is just as good of a phone and I should have just bought another one of those.

A good phone, but has it's issues with poor cell coverage. Other than that it is a big upgrade on performance compared to the nokia 4.2 i had pryer to this one. The major plus on this phone is the customization options it has and the fact that one can attach a gamepad to it with out bluetooth connection, 2 reasons i got it, to play games on it like the other gaming phones and because my cellular network won't work with any of the major gaming phones. It ain't no razer phone 2, but it gets the job done on a budget.

New camera night mode shots are amazing. For the price you cant beat what the phone has to offer. We purchase and break phones so often that the Samsung Notes were getting expensive. Very affordable and the options included are worth the price of the phone.

My previous smartphone was starting to have issues, so I upgraded to the Z4. I am so happy with the performance of this new phone! Thank you Moto for this fine device, and thank you Best Buy for shepherding me through the purchasing process. Cheers!

OLED display will be felt right away when you turn on. Camera is good too. Set up is so simple. All features you want with a reasonable price.

No need to pay nearly $1000 for a cell phone. It does everything tho overpriced ones do for less than $500, plus you can add the "Mods"!

The price for this unlocked phone is a no brainer. battery life is amazing, screen size is awesome, to top it all off camera technology with 360 camera is so cool. I like the fingerprint sensor on the side of the phone. I give this phone a 10 out of 10.

Great phone. Superior Battery. Glad they put in an actual aux port with this model and that I can still use my old cords from previous models as well. Speaker is very quiet unless you buy their attachment or use another speaker.

The best phone I've ever had. Previously I was carrying 3 phones with me because of lack of memory. Now they're all consolidated in my Moto z4. Wonderful camera too. Easy to use. I've had it for around 4 weeks. Would definitely buy again.

Its not bad but its not a damsung xD Galaxy still holds the lead but its a good phone for the price
