    The Best Of Both Worlds

I say the best of both worlds because this is technically only the third release for the PS3 in the MotorStorm series. (Arctic Edge was developed by a different company and was for the PSP and PS2 only.) That being said, Apocalypse takes what many long time gamers from the original liked in the first game and has combined it with the good from Pacific Rift. Think of Apocalypse as a game that should make both contingents happy. The tracks are varied like in the original game while being beautiful and challenging like in the second game. Then, add a whole new layer to the game as it just appears that everything has been upgraded. The handling of vehicles is better than in Rift which will make those who played the original game happy. Additionally, ELIMINATOR is BACK for online which is something that was absent from Rift. Continue to add more and more as people can still play multi-player at home with up to 4 people, but this time you can now play multi-player online as well with two people playing on the same PS3 against your friends in virtual land. The game was due out in the states in mid-April, but because of the terrible tragedy that befell Japan and the content of this game, the date has been put on hold. But, it looks like the UK release will be out in less than 5 days. Here's hoping those of you who weren't able to snag this game prior to distribution being stopped will not have to wait long in order to start enjoying a return of the lunatics.

    amazing but missing somthing

This game overall was a major success. I got this game the first day it came out and my expectations were above the roof. I was very supprized with the ammount of depth in the customization and there really are over 40 uniqe tracks wich is a huge step up from the 16 found in pacific rift. but comparing this game to pacific rift is precisely why its missing somthing. Pacific rift had literally tons of each vehicle type. atleast 10 of each category. In apocalypse its a little misleading. They broadcast how amazing there are 13 different types of categorys of cars, but what they dont say is they trunkated the types of each car to only 3. so while pacific rift had about 80 cars apocalypse features a little under 40 which was a huge let down for me. I saw the list of cars thinking oh this cant be it and kept playing through the campaign later i realized yeah thats really it. bummer.

    A TRUE "DYSASTERPIECE"

This game is awesome! It is far better than the previous two motorstorms. Alot of distractions, explosions, and gun fire! The comics can be humorous at times, as well as the collectible cards. Motorstorm did thier homework on this game! 1080p graphics, and awesome surround sound, with excellent low frequency effects!! With the PSN being down, this game will keep you occupied for awhile! Oh, one other thing, the track selection is awesome also! YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS GAME!!

If you have the first two Motor Storm games and loved the clean graphics and game play.... this will disappoint you. The whole "Wrecked City" theme is fine with me, but the graphics and overall feel of the game are much more clunky, block like and not very pleasant to look at. In my opinion, the producers rushed to finish this game. Or, at the very least tried to get another series out there to unload a little more from your wallet. Save your money until this is the $19.99 game. Wasting a full $60 on it only makes me realize that running out to buy a sequel can leave a bad taste in your mouth for the money you spend. I know there are many good reviews of the game out there. I am a picky gamer and I must be honest and just let it out there... This game is an incredible disappointment. Give me back some dirt, sand and dunes. Sorry I wasted my money.
