Plug n play with Linux!

This is a very small use case for people but as someone who has recently ditched Windows for Linux I needed hardware that was compatible to help me along the way. The drivers for this are built into Linux and Boxflat app is a nice replacement for Pithouse for what I need. Also, the mobile app works even though it's a bit buggy. The hardware is alright. My T150 stopped turning on so it's a great upgrade from that. I'm using VR for this using alvr on CachyOS. I do recommend getting the brake mod. I am a very casual player. I bust out my sim rig from the closet when I'm in the mood and then when I'm burnt out I put it back for a month or two. Even with that I bought the brake mod. The base being direct drive is way smoother than the gear and belt system. I don't feel any cogging in the wheel and it's super quiet. I mounted the wheel to a cheap wheel stand and I had to drill holes to get it working. I could only get two hole drilled because of a bar underneath the wheel deck but two screws was enough to get it mounted solid. It's nice and light and the 3.9 nm is more than I need tbh. The instructions could be better and the font could be a little larger for people with degraded vision. That's it.

My son uses the Moza Racing R3 Direct Drive Sim Racing Bundle and he’s been extremely happy with it. The force feedback feels smooth and realistic, and it’s a huge upgrade from standard racing wheels. The build quality is solid, setup was easy, and everything needed comes in the box.
It’s a great entry-level direct drive bundle that delivers excellent performance and immersion for the price. Highly recommended for anyone getting into serious sim racing.

Tons of fun once you get it set up right

First things first. I’ve learned this wheel set is an introduction to simulation hardware much more than a plug it in and play sort of deal. There are a lot of settings to tweak and customize. I’ve spent more time configuring and troubleshooting than I have playing, so I'm docking a star.
When I initially assembled and connected the R3 to my PC, I was excited that it fired right up and appeared ready to go on my first try. I updated the firmware, did the calibrations, etc. I started playing Assetto Corsa Competizione and about 2 minutes after starting, the wheel disconnects. This happened a few times. I double checked the installation instructions included with it and I had done everything step by step as indicated. The phrase “connect the USB cable to an available port on your PC.” is what the instructions say. After searching around for troubleshooting information, I found that Moza recommends the wheel be plugged into a USB port directly on the motherboard. I found the only way to stop the disconnects on my rig was to plug directly to one of the USB 2.0 ports. I don’t think this is a Moza issue. I think it’s a glaring illustration of how bad USB implementation is, even on a $400 mobo like this one. Perhaps Moza might want to say this right up front, it might save some headaches. If you have USB 2.0 on your system, use that port. There is no advantage to using a USB 3 port, and you’ll likely encounter disconnects. The other troubleshooting step that might be of use – the troubleshooting information also says you should plug the power supply directly into the wall, not a power strip or surge suppressor. Once I did these two things, I haven’t had the random drops.
Also, I can not give any impression of the mobile app. It requires an account before you can use it. I opened it, saw that and deleted the app. I understand the desire for consumer lock-in, and of course having an account will allow you to move settings across units, which is the justification I’ve seen. That’s shenanigans and they know it. There is not a technical reason for creation of an account.
The included USB cable was too short, so I bought a long one that has ferrite sleeves like the Moza provided one and have had no issues (as long as it’s on the motherboard USB 2!).
Ok then.
I’ve used a competitor's steering wheel and control set with Farm Simulator. They feel like and operate like toys, and they’re cheap, the buttons are sloppy. A toy.
For the same price, the Moza R3 is an entirely different experience. Aluminum, steel, and high quality plastics. The wheel mount is a heavy chonk, substantial and solid. The wheel itself has a very solid build, with nice soft-touch foam on the grip. The wheel connects to the base with a stable quick-connect mechanism that allows you to use other wheels.
The pedal set is also rock solid, without slack in the hinge or pedal travel and a nice bit of resistance when at the stop, and a cool little push up to 100% when you smash it harder. I have ordered the brake pedal kit from Moza, which is supposed to make the brake pedal offer more realistic resistance.
The Moza Pit House software is quick, polished and full featured. There are adjustments and settings galore, even for this entry level wheel. The only problem I’ve had with Pit House is when trying to use the “Recovery” option, it returns an error about firmware, so I imagine that’s a bug that will be worked on in the future. No complaints here!
My times in ACC and Forza Motorsport are now dismal, I’m awful in all of my driving games now, and it’s great! The feeling of the track through the wheel and my wheel stand really amp up the realism. I’m finding so much more information about the surface while I’m driving, if I run over some gravel on the left side, I can feel it, then clearly feel the gravel coming off my tires as it gradually clears. I had no idea how immersive it can be after years of playing with a controller. The tiny little movements as the wheel responds to the track are sharp and detailed, offering so much more feedback. The wheel’s ability to create a stop as if it were a fixed stop on a real wheel is uncanny. You can set how many turns lock-to-lock, and like magic, a different driving experience. I am excited about the new life and challenges available in my driving games.
The hardware is top-notch, the software is good. While wheels from the big peripheral name in this market space have been more plug n play, they are also not at the same level of hardware quality and refinement. The Moza R3’s pricing is surprisingly competitive, I didn’t imagine we could get such nice equipment for such a low price.
Understand when you buy this thing, it's going to take some familiarization, but with some time, the rewards are worth it.
What an insane value, I’m a new fan.

Moza Fan - Great R3 Bundle for Kids

Great entry level bundle, especially if you have young kids. Sure, you could purchase an R5 and cut the force feedback in half with different profiles, but for the price point, this is a perfect setup for the whole family if you're interested in starting a racing simulator. The wheel is a perfect size for kids hands and you can either mount it to a desk, or purchase a cockpit to attach the pedals and wheel base to if needed. Completely silent being direct drive, you won't even hear the gears turning on this compared to some of the other gear or gear / belt driven wheels from other known brands. Plenty of other attachments for this as well if you'd like to upgrade the wheel, add a clutch, or use their shifters. I'm glad I found Moza as an alternative to some of the other brands - seems like a very well built product.

This is one of the best deals in all of sim racing, I've used it for a month now and it's just incredible. My only two complaints are that the pedals move around too much if you don't have them propped up against something and it doesn't come with a shifter or a clutch pedal, only paddle shifters. But other than that everything feels great! It's good quality and you can upgrade it whenever you get more stuff from Moza. This is way better than any gear or belt driven wheel! Absolutely a must for any aspiring sim racer!

Here's the thing. I am one of those keyboard and mouse folks. Just recently started using a controller on a PC. This was a huge leap for me to start using and boy was I in trouble.
Setting up the wheel and pedals was the easy part. They are built very well. Nice and sturdy. You will have to be trying to break these things if they do break. Easy to put together and mount on the desk. I had to make room for it. My workspace is a mess right now. I will attach a picture of the wheel on my desk. As far as using the wheel I guess it's okay. I seemed to have more control with the controller but I was told by a friend of mine that I didn't configure it correctly. He was shocked that I couldn't get the results I was expecting. He stopped by and got everything working. Once it was setup I actually had fun in the dirt in Dirt 2. I guess watching a bunch of F1 vintage videos is starting to catch up to me 😂 If you are into racing sims I would definitely recommend picking this up if you are on a budget. They make a few more that are a bit up there but if sims are your jam you already know.
I enjoyed using this bundle and I am looking forward to building a dedicated rig for it so I can still use my daily rig and build a new one for racing.

Realistic look and feel but just Okay performance

The Moza R3 Direct Drive Sim Racing Bundle comes with an easy to assemble steering wheel and pedal set that I think have a nice realistic look and feel to them. The steering wheel has a comfortable grip and felt very good in my hands. However, I can't get much use out of it because the desk clamps that it comes with don't open wide enough for it to fit on my adjustable height desk. And it doesn't come with any other stand or way to mount it. When I want to use it, I have to use a smaller table in front of my computer desk and that defeats the purpose. The base for the pedals should come with a floor protecting pad or other sort of backing because not everyone wants to screw it into something to stay in place.
Though the steering wheel didn't pair well with most of the racing games I like to play, it worked okay with a couple of them once you got the calibrations synced. It's nice that it can be synced to work with Xbox and PlayStation systems as well, but overall, for a PC wheel, I wasn't all that impressed.

Great bundle for the price, had some issues with the software, could be a bit easier to use and no cause my hardware to go faulty but a good set up and quality feels really great for a simulation DD wheel and wheel base. Wish the pedal base platform was a but heavier to stay in place though.

Great Direct Drive Wheel

The Moza R3 has exceeded our expectations. We had looked at the logitech and turtle beach ones but neither were direct drive. For a budget direct drive wheel it preforms fantastically. The 3.9nm of force feedback are more than enough for beginner sim racers, and for players who like games like Euro/American Truck Simulator, and Forza Horizon. It takes messing with settings for it to work with games like Assetto Corsa and Forza Horizon 4, but it does eventually work.

Great Intro wheel, much better than logitech

I had a G920 before this, and I prefer the R3 a lot more than any logitech intro wheel. For the extra $50 or so, you lose the clutch pedal, but gain a more powerful, direct drive wheel with much better quality of life improvements. The R3 is so much more space efficient, has customizable pedal positions, 8 or so extra buttons on the wheel, and the pedals are infinitely easier to clean. That last part is improtant, because after a year or my Logitech pedals began spazzing out because I could not easily clean them.
TLDR:
R3 is a much better intro wheel than logitech G920 or G29, definitely get this instead.

As a beginner budget sim racing direct drive bundle this is the way to go. The force feed back gives you just enough to put perform a thrust master 150,300 or the gear driven Logitechs
Set up is easy and the app takes it to the next level.
I don't know if I would choose this over a R5 or a fanatec if money wasn't an issue. For the price though this is hard to beat

Amazing product! Bought it for my brother who can no longer drive and he says it's amazing and it makes him feel like he's back behind the wheel! Especially when he puts on the VR haha. None the less amazing quality I tested it myself and yea it's as legit as my brother says it is. You won't regret purchasing.
