I have hated the units that require you to freeze the container for hours before you need to use it. I wanted something that worked when I wanted it to work, right then!! This unit is just that. If you want ice cream, put in the mix and turn it on. Very simple to operate, clean up, and produces good solid ice cream. I love it and won't ever go back to the hand crank or pre-freeze models.
