The fan is loud. I brought MSI instead of Alienware because I heard Alienware has big issue with screen back lights bleed. Yeah, MSI has the same problem. I even can see it in a bright room.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

This was a purchase for my son. It is a great gaming laptop for the price. It is far better than similarly priced gaming laptops from other manufacturers. My son uses this to play online games, write music, and design high end graphics. He has not had any problems with any application.
