The card works great for gaming, but at idle there will be a screen flicker every hour or so and that is just so annoying. This only happens when the card is at idle and not in gaming. (Browsing the web, watching YouTube etc.) This is such a disappointment because I was so excited for it to come in the mail and to find out it does that. This isnt an issue with the drivers its an issue with the 1660 super in general. After reading on it the only "fix" is to change your performance mode in the nvida controll pannel is to change it to max performace.

It costs $30-$40 more than a base 1660 super, but it is well worth it. Very well designed heat sink with 3 nickle plated copper heat pipes, and a beautiful solid metal back plate, this card has no sag whatsoever. The rgb is a very nice touch, considering none of msi's competitors offer it at all. This is by far the quietest running 16 series card i have ever had the pleasure of using. If you are in the market for a 1660 super, only buy msi. They are the only ones with proper heat sinks and real metal backplates. The newest ASUS TUF gaming 1660 super with the new re-designed heat sink is a great alternative for only $220+tax, but you miss out on the fan stop feature and rgb lights, it only has a non-structural plastic back plate, it runs almost 20c hotter and very quickly turns into a jet engine under load. I've had this card for 4 years, purchased back in 2020 and the card is still doing fantastic, plays all my games smoothly, anywhere from medium-high settings on a 1440P monitor. I paid roughly 280$ in 2020 when the GPU market skyrocketed and it wasn't a good time to get a card but this was all I could get at the time and honestly amazed how well it performed. Also I thought was pretty crazy was this thing has the same hash rate as a 3060!

Best starter gpu you could get. It is on the low side but that’s to be expected. Over all when building a pc you get this pair with a mid tier cpu. You leave your self to many possible ways to upgrade
