I am upgrading from a Dell G15 after loving it for about a year. My main reason for upgrading was to move up from the 3060 GPU for games like Calisto Protocol, Dead Space Remastered, and Metro Exodus. I initially got an Acer Helios 300 with a 12th gen CPU and 3070ti. The Acer throttled obsessively even when only at 80* and caused a lot of stuttering in games like Modern Warfare 2 or MechWarrior Online. Ontop of that, overclocking is locked out completely on the CPU and GPU. Within 2 days I returned the laptop and found out that MSI doesn't lock users out from basic features like overclocking and undervolting so I immediately ordered the GP66. With some tuning, a VBIOS flash, and liquid metal this monster is hitting legendary scores in 3dMark and doing decently in Cinebench R23. The GPU has amazing cooling but the CPU does leave some to be desired with its minimal two heat pipes. Asside from the average to below average CPU cooling during benchmarks, I have no complaints about this laptop and have enjoyed it a lot so far.

Great graphics and speed definitely is what i needed

Just WOW!! A laptop having this much power is insane!! I can play most AAA game with max out setting with very HiGh framerate 100fps+ in average!! The laptop I got has 140TDP which is enough juice for my 3080 to stay strong in intense gaming for a while!

Alright. This is my first gaming laptop. I researched for weeks which laptop I should purchase. If you have the same problems, YouTube, “Jarrod’s Tech.” That dude is an absolute boss when it comes to knowledge on/about computers. He does stress tests to see how the cooling system works, the Graphics card, etc. I highly recommend him. He helped me decide to purchase the MSI GP66 Leopard. This was on sale so it made it even easier to pull the trigger. I also purchased an MSI mouse, MSI headset, and a IETS 500 cooling system. Highly recommended all of these . I spent less than $2,000 for all of it. Set up for the laptop was simple, updating was simple, graphics card update was simple. Highly recommend for a gamer and someone who works with their laptop. The games I play are, Sons of the forest, the forest, Star Wars the old republic, LIMBO, elden ring: Oblivion, I will be playing more when I have time. I play all of these on the highest graphics with no problems. Never overheats. Never lags or skips or glitches. Amazing picture, sound is alright. (Alright because I have the fans going on the laptop and cooling system . With the headphones you don’t hear anything. One thing I’ll add is, you NEED to have this thing plugged in for it to work to the top of its quality. I haven’t used it without it being plugged in or used without the cooling system. It’s a good system. I highly recommend it.

Good computer. Performs well. Battery life is bad, but I expected that from the other reviews and it's not a big deal for me. I am disappointed that it doesn't use a more common charging port (and the charger is being discontinued too, I think, so hopefully my computer dies before the charger does)

I RARELY write reviews on stuff I buy but this exceeded all my expectations. I was hesitant buying a gaming laptop due to thermal throttling, performance differences compared to desktops, and bad reviews. But this thing is wicked fast for being so small. I haven't had a single game that wasn't getting at least 150fps on the highest settings. If its starved of airflow it'll get around 80-85 degrees C but if you keep it on a desk it barely gets above 72 degrees C. The RTX 3080 is a monster paired with the 11th gen i7 and can handle anything thrown at it. When it came in it did have Windows 11 installed which I removed for Windows 10 within 24 hours. Windows 11 looks great but its a resource hog, I was getting about 12% less performance using Windows 11 which for me wasn't worth it. After putting Windows 10 on the laptop it runs great, thermals are more managable, and load times are a lot quicker. Definitely recommend buying this thing if you're looking for a light weight, portable, but insanely fast laptop.

Great gaming laptop. Upgraded from an older msi laptop to this. Mostly use this for vr games and animations. The graphics card on this is definitely better and doesn't lag.

For the most part, a very good gaming laptop. Got a little hot at times, but that was mostly when I would play for extended periods of time. I played heavier games like R6, Warzone, and Overwatch. It handled and ran them all well

Everything I was looking for in a laptop. Powerful system, runs quiet and can play anything I throw at it. Also like the design of it and RGB lighting on the keyboard.
