Customers are saying

Customers express satisfaction with the Z490-A PRO motherboard's ease of use, competitive price, and BIOS. Many appreciate its performance and compatibility with various components, along with its extensive features. However, some users point out the lack of integrated Wi-Fi as a significant drawback. The absence of RGB lighting was also noted by a few customers, though this did not appear to be a major concern for most.

A solid performing Mobo with no frills but no complications either, everything fit securely and without issues. I'm a fan of simple easy to use Mobos especially since many new options are jacking up prices for features no one needs

This is a great motherboard with an easy to understand bios and comes with all the features you need to get up and running with making a new pc. It works well for overclocking and comes with enough fan headers(6) for me and I’m guessing for a lot of people so that you don’t really have to buy a hub.

Intel Screwing Over Features On Motherboards

The reason for 4 stars is the fact intel screws people over with their motherboards. Why can't I use a different chipset and get my i5 over 2666mhz? The only reason I got this motherboard with my i5 10400 was because of the sale and combo price. Otherwise AMD may be a better option. I had no issues getting my g.skill ram to 3200 mhz within the bios. Overall this has been a solid motherboard.

We build a ton of computers as we are a custom computer shop and absolutely love this motherboard. It is very reliable and versatile. If you are looking for a rock solid motherboard that doesn't have all the LED garbage this is it.

    Solid 10th gen motherboard

I was looking to upgrade my 8 year old MSI motherboard to a 10th gen board. That board was solid for me, so I decided to stick with MSI, rather than Gigabyte. (Plus, the Gigabyte 10th gen boards were more expensive.) While I'm not a hard-core gamer, I do plan on playing games with this PC. As I don't really care about RGB on the board, I opt'd out of the Gaming Plus board for this cheaper Pro model. From what I can tell RGB is the only notable difference in the two. Edit - 8/8/20: The ALC1220 audio codec on the Gaming Plus board is supposedly better than the ALC892 on this Pro board. The Gaming Plus board also has an S/PDIF audio connector. As the MSI web site says, this is a well-constructed board. I could tell just by taking it out of the box.

I bought this motherboard for my son's computer that I built for him to do some schoolwork and play games. The motherboard is very easy to use and connect. I have it paired with an Intel I5 10400, and that's good enough for my son to play games and do schoolwork.

Cheapest z490 i could find on bestbuy. i paid around $120 for it to pair with my i5-10400. the cpu doesn’t overclock like this board is intended for but i bundled this motherboard with my cpu and got $15 off from doing so. also allows me to upgrade to an overclockable cpu down the road.

Not gonna lie wasn't expecting much from this budget board. In the past I have compared MSI to a Wally world budget board. However this board has kind of changed my mind about MSI to be honest. This board booted without any issues has run stable with a mild overclock and I have had ZERO issues with any of it no firmware issues no software issues it just works. It had all the features I expected to find on a motherboard and the placement was out of the park for cable management and let me tell you the one thing that just took the cake for me. This boards usb 3.0 header had one for both side mount and straight into the board. I spent twice as much on my asus board and hate how the usb 3.0 cable is managed because its up in the air while all my other cords are flat and tucked. MSI really knocked it out of the park on the board if you ask me. Solid board for a good price couldn't say enough good things.

A very well built, high quality motherboard. It is an entry level Z490 board, but it doesn't skimp on the features needed for a solid build. Add it's basically future proof since it'll support 11th generation Intel processors. You won't go wrong in choosing this board.

I got this for my first PC and it's worked great. The only thing that would be nice is WiFi and Bluetooth functionality, but I just use ethernet and a USB Bluetooth adapter instead.

Great quality and no issues at all during my build. BIOS interface was easy to navigate and MSI has great instructions for installation and support. Would certainly purchase again given current usage (almost 2 months in using for light gaming).

This board has withstood everything i can throw at it, my system is slightly over clocked with the ram and processor and this board just keeps going. be sure to maintain this board with canned air to keep anything from accidently happening.

So far pretty good. I ended up going with this MoBo for my 3rd PC build. To date this is the best board i have used. I know there is better out there, but for the price this one is a solid board. Would recommend!

Bought two of these motherboards for building an i9 home server setup. Works perfectly and was easy to install. MSI boards are are quality and east to work with, especially when overclocking CPU and memory.

This is a great budget Z490 motherboard with an adequate VRM set up. It has many of the features more expensive Z490 motherboards have at a budget price. I would recommend this mother board.

We got this to replace a DOA gigabyte board we received for a new build. Worked like a charm. May not have all the bells and whistles, but for the price it's great. Big fan of the bios too.
